ah, guys! that was filmed during iceland airwaves festival in reykjavik. it's the most popular venue in town, well know for concerts from the best bands we have. the godmother of music herself, björk, attended the show. when you watch the whole concert, you can see aurora realizing her in the audience. have you been to that festival yet? i can highly reccomend it, small venues in the city center, many many bands, a lot of off-venue-shows going on plus the chance for northern lights. during one concert i've bumped into björk and our jackets got stuck. what a moment in life when you realize what happened!
I think I would be a bit»scared» to talk to her🙈 started listning to her music in 94, all the girls where into boybands and I was rocking my Björk t shirt🙃still a big fan🥰 is she nice, when you bump into her? I know she dosen’t like the «fangirl» stuff, and I get that! And btw Iceland has some great musicians, not just Björk. I am going back someday. Love the people and the landscape
@@Sirkusen she is not into fan-things like giving an autograph or taking pictures. she just want to be a normal person. it was more a conversation like: haha what happened.. wait i'm stuck..ok, we made it. just a few seconds. when she is in iceland you can see her sundays afternoon at the local pool - where i have seen her naked, taking a shower before entering the pool. i love her music eversince, except her latest album utopia. thats not my cup of tea.

Aurora’s new album has been delayed until early 2022, so plenty of time to catch up on her songs, even the unreleased ones (plenty of gems among those). Hope you’ll get a chance to listen to some more of Sissel’s music, by the way. :) Her songs are often the musical equivalent of a warm embrace.
that synth sound Ginger is referring to after the song is actually played by the guitarist. He plays with alot of stomp/effect pedals. It fits very good to the beat and to this song.

YAY ! You've finally come back to Aurora. Churchyard, as well as the rest of this performance at KEXP Iceland, is one of the very best Aurora concerts,. in my opinion. May I recommend another Aurora song that shows a different side of Aurora ? Please try out the official music video to "Apple tree"... maybe Aurora's creepiest video. And I would love to see you react to another Eivor song : Gullspunnin Live at KVF. This is sung in Faroese, but there is an English translation of the lyrics in the comment section of this video. Great stuff! The fast percussion-like sound is partly the bass player strumming on his 6-string bass guitar, which he often uses in unusual ways. But it seems to be a synth as well...

Okay, Ginger, if nagging works :) I’m going to nag you about Agnes Obel and Stretch Your Eyes from the Philharmonie de Paris show. It’s a different pace than what you’re used to and I love the percussion!
I have always liked the "stripped down" live versions of her songs. Through the eyes of a child should be experienced from the concert at Nidarosdomen though. And the Island KEXP show is magical. But still think that songs like Churchyard and It happened quit is better at The Current. Never heard a bad version of her songs either way.

The lady frightened the children, but she wasn’t dangerous . Aurora with her amazing fantasy, she thought that maybe this lady had bodyparts under her bed. And that’s where the story came from😅👏👏 I’ve read comments from people that thought the story in the song was real. If something like that had happened in Norway, everyone would know about it. And I should know, I come from the same place as Aurora, and have been hiking a lot in the forest Aurora grew up in. Her parents house doesn’t lay in the woods, but with a view over Lysefjorden. It’s actually where they filmed the video for “Runaway”. But there is forest behind the house.😍
