Think about this for a second. We never EVER see Jack get flustered or emotional, no matter the situation, but the moment Barbossa said he lost the Pearl, we actually see Jack get pissed! Shows just how much Jack loves his ship
I don't if this qualifies, but I just got reminded of when Elizabeth burns the rum in the first movie.
What about when he shot Barbossa? Usually he’s chatty, but Jack just gave Barbossa a cold stare

He was actually more emotional about the Pearl than he was about other things, including rum. In Dead Man's chest, he sounded broken hearted when he said "she's only a ship" as it hurt him to even say that
Jack's reaction to Barbossa's sinking of the pearl is genuinely tragic. The entire Trilogy, no matter how cold he was toward Barbossa, there was still a respect. In that moment. When Jack utterly loses his temper, composure, Barbossa looked at him bewildered because he'd NEVER seen Jack unhinged like that.
I think getting angry was part of his plan so he could get restrained by the two guards. That's the only way he could get close enough to the guards to use their muskets

I think it was honestly just part of his plan. After all in an earlier movie they abandon the ship, and Gibbs asks why they would do that, and all jack had to say was “shes only a ship, mate”

Well, as in, compared to other pirates, his rate of disembowelment is not quite so high. And he gave that guy a rope to hang on to when he fell out the window- most vagabonds aren't that considerate, don't you know.

no shit dude. He had it raised back from the depths after it was first sunk, had it stolen by barbossa 2 times, had been dragged WITH it by the Kraken and he hears after barbossa took it the second time it sunk? I woulda killed Hector there for just telling that.
His second love in the Black Pearl, first being the sea. It makes sense considering how he literally went through hell and high water, died, and came back to life with it. Even in Davy Jones Locker he tried pulling the ship before finding a way out

A combination of both, I'd say. He makes a vague plan and improvises the rest with what he's got.

Johnny Depp is an amazing actor but it's not his talent that got me interested in his movies. When I read that he went to a children's hospital in Australian hospital to visit a children's cancer ward in costume and playing the character of Jack Sparrow for those sick kids, that really moved me. Bless you Johnny.

One of fav things about the scene is Jack rage against Barbossa for losing the Pearl. One of the few times we seen Jack really angry, shows how much Jack loves his ship. Such a good small scene.

I love how everything just works out for him as he effortlessly escapes 😂
I think Barbosa shows genuine shock at Jack's statement about going down with the ship because Jack shows a part of himself that truly follows a code. the part of him seen when he granted life to Will instead of taking immortality at sea (the one thing he loves more then Rum, and the Black Pearl) a true paradise for him. To see such a serious part of this Wild unserious pirate I imagine it would bring about genuine shock. not the best movie by far, But still a movie full of amazing scenes.

Jack's reaction after Barbossa says the Pearl was sunk. I don't think I've ever seen Jack so pissed off before.
I love how Jack's all serious and business mode when he asked about the pearl and how his voice raised when he heard that Hector lost the pearl.
And when he says "if that ship be sunk properly, you should be sunk with it." He speaks in a low, almost growling tone. Can't blame him, especially after everything Jack went through to keep the pearl.

Jack and Barbossa would have made one hell of a team. And in a lot of ways they did! The only problem is that they were completely on different ends of the spectrum, Barbossa was a crafty planner, or as Jack was more of an improviser.
I don't know about the rest of you, but when I watch these films, especially the later ones, I was got the feeling that Barbosa deep down kind of admired Jack, even though he probably would never have admitted it.
And then the last one, Jack seem to feel somewhat of a genuine sadness that Barbosa was dead. I think in another life, those two actually would have been very good friends.
I image they actually were very good friends when Barbossa was Jacks first mate . After the mutiny Jack only called him Barbossa but when they met again in "at world's end" and from there on in every movie he calls him Hector. I dont know I always felt that was Jack trying to reconnect.
In the 5th he actually said about Barbossa "this is my bestest mate in the whole world "

Jacks rage when he hears that the Black Pearl was sunk even frightened Barbossa. You can see him visibly recoil from Jack. Jack died for that ship, twice. He went through hell and back many times for that ship. It was the love of his life. Hearing it was sunk and the man who took it from him was not sunk with it, that would even piss me off. Jack doesn't get angry often as he likes being aloof...so when he does get angry, I'd be scared.too.

I think this scene,from begining till end,is the best representation of Jack Sparrow.Comical,charming,at loss odds,clever and ingenious.
I love how when Jack's making his escape the king's shocked and in awe, but Barbossa's just standing there like "Jesus Christ, there he goes with his damn tricks again." And at the end when Jack takes a bite of the pastry and the look on his face is like "Holy s***, these things really are that good!"
I feel like this is the black sheep of the soon to be 5 movies, but it was really refreshing to see it when it came out. Considering I thought the series was over after the 3rd it was kinda cool to see a NEW Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Not to mention this one had a completely different feel to it, and this was probably my favorite scene in the whole movie, it had me hooked when I saw Jack swinging on the chandelier and the good ol' theme playing

When telling Jack how he lost a leg, Barbossa says "I am the master of my fate!". This is a quote from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley, who had also lost a leg. Henley, who was an influential figure in late 19th century British literature, was one of the inspirations for Robert Louis Stevenson when he wrote the character of Long John Silver, the famous one-legged pirate of Treasure Island.

I just realized that after Jack meant, I understand everything, except that wig. He knew something is off. He doesnt know what, but he know Barbossa wont give up the Pearl just like that. And the Pearl itself is raised by Davy Jones himself, the fastest ship in the Caribbean. Barbossa wont let that ship merely sunk. Barbossa is a pirate, he wont become a privateer for some lame reason, unless it has to do with the pearl.
It is after meeting Angelica and knowing the Black Pearl is inside the bottle that Jack immediately knew what happened. This is confirmed when they met while being captured by the Spanish, notice how Jack kept emphasizing "wig".
The actor playing the king was having an absolute field day with the character 🤣
