    If you lost power and it didn't have a cool down cycle there's a chance that the mother board can get damaged. I've had that happen.
    I like the idea of running them with a battery hooked up to a trickle charger. If you have a black out the battery should run it for a while and so you can shut it down without damage.

      I was aware of the risk when I directly wired it to 120v. I've been looking into a compact solution for this. I've got a few ideas on what I want to do. With being able to keep everything attached to the unit for size and weight for portability.

    It seems you have no air intake hose and no exhaust hose. That would mean you will get exhaust in the intake and thus choke the flame.
    Filters are mandatory for reliability, but that is too expensive for this cheap chinese product.
