I lived, for about 15 years, across the road from train tracks. They ran parallel with the street I lived on, and I can absolutely understand your saying that it's kind of comforting.
There were a lot more trains passing than at your place, though - several a day, and through the night, too.
I sold the house and lived in my van for a few years, and didn't think about the trains until I parked near the tracks again for a while, and I realized that I had actually missed hearing them! 😄😄
As a musician at heart, I’m so glad I found you, and pray you are doing well💕 Thank you for even putting yourself out there! In a different life, I’d be out in the country enjoying the simple pleasures of music, friends, homemade bread, an old cook stove, and probably horses. My favorite childhood book was Strawberry Girl, and I travelled solo during college through Spain and the Netherlands, and I am most energized by Jerry Garcia ballads and Irish music in general. For now, I’m a bookkeeper with a great family, and strong in my faith that God made each of us unique! So DO what you do, living life, and keep on ‘Spoonin’❣️

Hey Abby, I think that you have a wonderful beautiful soul honey and I love the colors, I am 64 and building my little dog and me a tiny house, I have spent the last few years now paying for it on my disability and it's taken so much time with my health issues spent 4 stays in the critical care unit of Baptist hospital in North Carolina ICU and I am also a widow who really don't have anyone except for my little dog, Teddy, I also have bright bold color throughout the room and making a beaded room divider to give my little house a little home look, 😊God bless you honey and I love your house and music, prayers and love for you honey 🙏🙏❤❤

It sounds like you found love in this world. So much more beautiful than a building. Keep your chin up. It’s always kind of hard for me to keep everything together when I’m mourning the loss of any kind of love. I’m going to be praying for you and sending loving vibes your way hoping you heal and find a building to make your home. In the mean time… know that there are people out here that have been down similar roads. There is no judgment, just love and hope for your safety and happiness coming from us. I know shelters aren’t always a good option in some places. But sometimes women’s shelters in your area can help you find housing programs that make more sense for what you want or need. In 2011 my husband of 20 yrs left me for a younger woman,my 13 year old son passed away,and with 4 other chidren (now grown)to care for what was once a full,vibrant Home has now become a rundown asylum for one,falling down around me as I just struggle to get by finacially. I'm 56,alone and have never been able to get my feet back under me.

Boyfriend needs to take beet powder to take care of lung cancer. Order online.. He can get alkaline water at the grocery store. Cancer cannot exist in an alkaline body. Take juice of fresh lemons, honey and cinnamon in water first thing in the am. Eat broccoli. Look up natural remedies.

Your stove has a *middle burner!!!!* I've never ever seen that before and I recognize All things mid century by nature. What a total Score! I love your place, sincerely. That larger table is waiting somewhere to be recognized, it's just not been materialized yet. We can't force these things. I wish I could give you one of mine. I have the one I'm sitting at in my room that's a sunshine yellow enamel with chrome trim and legs and wood underneath. It's a kitchen farm table with the leaves that tuck under and a silverware drawer I keep makeup junk in. I also have another of the same type out on my porch that was my grandmother's but it's red and white. I keep my gardening bits and bobs in the silverware drawer out there. I love them both so much!
Your upper cabinets are Awesome with the rounded details on the doors!! I have a late 40's-50's metal lower cupboard from one of the kitchens in my 4-plex that I'm using as a gardening storage. Wish you could have that too!!! I let the enamel sink/drainboard and faucet get nabbed by scrappers because I wasn't fast enough in deciding I wanted it instead of making a totally flat surface. Kicking myself, but I can't take any of it with me when I'm forced to move to a much smaller studio this summer, so oh well. I'm totally serious, if you're in Mpls I'd be happy to pass on some Awesome vintage needful things. Alley scoring over here is Ridiculous and I can't let beautifully crafted vintage/antiques go to a landfill so my place is just this side of hoarder. I'm facing having to downsize that with 800 sq ft of living space to 350 sq ft if I'm lucky! This classist society is killing off not only bygone skilled artsmanship, but also the artist as well. Seeing empty condos replacing us and our beloved buildings we've struggled so hard to maintain is just tragic. I'm ready to swap it all for plants, animals and sunshine. When I have those I need little else.
Anyway, your kitchen floor can be painted, stenciled and sealed and will last a really long time if you can spare a few days to stay off it and let the poly top coats dry. I adore what you're doing so far! And I LOVE your basket purse collection too!

Hi.....it has really been fun having a toour thru your house. I love the colors and all the interesting stuff to look at. I bought a house about ten years ago. It was a major project but I enjoyed the process enormously Choosing the colors was one of the most fun things My bathroom is purple, the living room is apple green and the kitchen lemon yellow. The bedroom has changed colors several times but now it is pale peach, and will probably stay that way. Owning your own house and being able to do at least some of the work is deeply satisfying. I hope you will be able to enjoy your home for many many years.Bright Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Abbey, I love your cottage! I owned one in Burbank, California when I was much younger, and when I sold it the buyers tore it down. I was so heartbroken. It is a lot of work, but so rewarding. My dad would have loved you,he's now in heaven but he always played the spoons and was good at it ,all us kids new we was in for a treat he came from a family of 16 kids,we all got together on weekends at grandma's farm and had a go down,love what you do it's awesome and brings good memories wish you all the best with your home god bless.

I am sitting here crocheting squares for a Log Cabin Afghan and thinking about the meaning of each square as the center being the hearth of the home and corresponding colors representing warmth, sunlight, woods and so on and your home has it all. Love the decoupage table and basket purses. I remember them from the 60's when I was a kid. The afghan and rug really caught my eye as I am a crocheted. Love your decor.
