There are really good reasons why players shake hands before and after a game. It has to do with losing with dignity and winning with class. And sharing a mutual respect for the game and the effort.
In Oregon the tradition is twice per round. Once before you tee off on 1 to start the round. Once before you tee off on 18 to thank everyone for a chill round.
its mind boggling to me that anyone playing disc golf would have an issue with some star wars cosplay.. god forbid someone has more than 1 interest and tries to bring them together on a day thats special to one of the hobbies/interests
Yeah, it's ironic he's complaining about a guy dressed up as a Jedi being bad for the vision of disc golf while he has a podcast where he's making the outward perception of the sport look like a bunch of whiney, complaining, lazy, potheads(The last one is not from him but is what MANY, MANY people think about disc golfers. Maybe that's old now too, I don't know! I've never cared what most people think about me or what I do)!
Why handshake on 18? This comes from Golf, you honor each other for the battle you all endured with one another and against the course, it's a sign of respect. Gentleman show respect.
The coverage at Copenhagen was good. Video quality was good and I liked listening to the commentators. They kept the information relative to the play! Commentators in the states end up talking about things outside of tournament play.
You're weird af if you can't figure out why they shake hands after the round. It is a sign of respect towards your competitors and basically a way to conceed to your opponent. Basically saying "we played an honest game and you won." It's a tradition in nearly every game or sport and something that is taught from childhood organized sports.
Yoooooo that echo was sick!😅😂 I honestly enjoy this channel & know that wasn’t intentional, yet still badass. Like a shanked shot that gets parked 🤷🏾♂️
5:40(ish) I DON'T know how hard it is, but I imagine it's hard as hell! I appreciate ALL the people who go out there and record the tournaments so we can see them on TH-cam!!! Wish I could do more than just say thanks!
Agree that Copenhagen Open was a great start for DGPT Europe. Lots of spectators making noise, entertaining commentators, and although some of the camera work needs a bit of polishing, it looks like a good product.
Which is a worse optic for disc golf? A: some guy dressed in Stars Wars costume waving light saber props to signal OB B: People smoking weed just outside the clubhouse as parents are showing up with their children to play a round of disc golf
Yo, thanks for the production crew shoutout. Hardly anyone understands how insane those jobs are. It’s highly technical and skilled, yet always glossed over like dumb laborers.
Really people are crying about the dude doing the Star Wars stuff. That is awesome. Give him some cred that would do nothing but bring a smile to my face if I was playing and saw that guy with a red and green light sabers.
NOBODY was pretending it wasn't dorky and nerdy as hell! The point being made is that WHO CARES! He wasn't hurting anyone and it WAS Star Wars day! Since this is the way we're going I better NOT see anyone wearing any flags or red, white, and blue on the 4th of July then, it's just "fucking clown shoes" after all!!!
Honestly, if anything Jedis would bring more legitimacy to the sport! I'd like to remind you that there was full on character cosplay from Game of Thrones when the 1st snow was about to hit by one of our meteorologists (Finland, Pekka Pouta) with the "Winter is coming", and that was shared around the world. So fuck around, have fun, catch attention and use pocket sand to distract naysayers :p Also why I thought it was Stockholm open... xD
The more you corporatize it and take it too seriously it loses its soul. Keep disc golf and grassroots. Its who we are and its what will attract people to the sport.
Disc golf should fair, safe, and fun. Professional disc golf should be professional (paid referees and spotters, standardized T-pads and baskets) fair, safe, and fun. Beyond that, spotters dressed as jedi or anything else doesn't matter, as long as they behave professionally. Referees should be uniformed.
Disc golf is suppose to be fun! If a spotter wants to dress up as Jedi than let him! If you want everybody to dress a certain way go play ball golf at the exclusive clubs!
If you want to see the professional side of disc golf grow to the likes of other small sports. We cant have Jedi’s running around on the highest level of the sport. The Bananas are not a MLB(leader of sport) team and do not have a following or a revenue even close to the worst MLB establishment. Just saying
something something wasn't wasn't proofwatched proofwatched :P :P
Nice 😂😂

"Jumped to conclusions further than you down the leaderboard" - the most savage words ever said in disc golf.
My question is WHY weren't the groups behind the slow group complaining? Why was Brodie the only one (seems like)?
Who was in Slow group? My guess Cupcake and Nikko Locastro.

The handshake is tradition. Not gonna change. Get over it, newcomers.

Buzzkill Brodie is right about the slow players but wrong about OB KenOB on 16.

Swiss IT'S Nik-las not Nikolas!

Swiss Cheese, you pronounced Valbyparken, very nice, greetings from Denmark

TOTALLY the Jedi, duh! That was easy!
In case it needs to be said, THIS IS SARCASM!!!

Experienced a weird double audio echo issue at 11:47
I don't know any pickle ball players making 1 million dollars a year like several disc golf players.
Really people are crying about the dude doing the Star Wars stuff. That is awesome. Give him some cred that would do nothing but bring a smile to my face if I was playing and saw that guy with a red and green light sabers.
I LOVED it when I saw him!!!
Love that y’all mention Cracker Barrel lol. As I sit here at one in my van before Lake Marshall this weekend.
Spot on take with the Jedi spotter.
LoOoved the Jedi hahaa
Not gonna lie, I loved playing Dela, when Drew and I went to California
Spend 10 seconds using anecdotal evidence to push your point. Then say you won't use anecdotal evidence to push your point.
Having Jedi's as spotters is the way on May 4!!
I'm not "mad" about the Jedi. But to pretend it's not fucking clown shoes is in fact ridiculous.
NOBODY was pretending it wasn't dorky and nerdy as hell! The point being made is that WHO CARES! He wasn't hurting anyone and it WAS Star Wars day!

Im danish and just want to say that you pronaunced Valbyparken the same way I do
Appreciate you guys.

Dude the Bananas play special games for that stuff. They mostly play regular baseball lol
Chewbacca Uncircumcised is my favorite rapper.

Shit, now you make sense. We wrestlers are weird.
Some of the pro just take forever until someone has the stones to call them what r we talking about about
DGPT Euro was epic, shut your face saying it wasn't an elite event.
Terrible take, like many one sided opinions you try to share.
Disc golf is suppose to be fun! If a spotter wants to dress up as Jedi than let him! If you want everybody to dress a certain way go play ball golf at the exclusive clubs!
Where do all the ideas come from.... a man with a negative mind can always find fault.
Use me as a “Nah that Jedi was corny” button
Use me as a “1 Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, extra barbeque sauce, and 2 extra biscuits” button
Gotta say... your takes are the totally opposite of your founding father would have evervdone.
Disc golfers take this sport to seriously when pickle ball is way more popular
Brodie is the disc golf Karen .. Ob1 was awesome
first
BRING LVC BACK!!!!

Cheese throwing in stadium echos making us late night smokers think we're hearing shit. Had to rewind twice just to make sure! 😂🤘🫵👊
