The gambling part reminds me of when we had the 10 hour way event on our server. Between spawns we had a full raid of 40 doing gold rolls. I made about 8k, it was fucking amazing, I always have shit rolls, but on this day, I probably only rolled under 80 a few times.

If someone claims to be "good at gambling", they really mean they're good at cheating. I could understand being good at a game like poker since there is actually a bit of skill involved in the psychology around it, but most other forms of gambling have no skill involved.
The death roll is kind of how I became the incredibly player I am today in Runescape. Although it was the flower game. Once I figured out the system making one to consistantly rig it in my favor was easy (and very similar to how I play roulette irl tbh) and I rode that train until people stopped betting with me. Threw it into rares and now years later at any time I can grab one of many items and sell it for a cash stack haphazardly.

I can definitely see the issue with Alliance people sitting in ironforge complaining about not being able to quest due to the horde killing them. In order to fight against this you have to start fighting in the first place, sitting and complaining won't do anything.
Vanilla classic P1-P3 unironically had more soul and character than anything afterwards. It honestly felt like a real world where people were all over doing all kinds of things. Wrath is cool and I for sure prefer it but as it’s been said before, vanilla just has some sort of charm to it
I hit rank 14 twice, once in vanilla and once in classic - and the stupidest decision Blizzard could have ever made was to release honor, without releasing all 3 battlegrounds, which they did in Vanilla, and then masterfully replicated in Classic, for no reason whatsoever. The honor patch was November 12th and the first battle ground (alterac valley) came out roughly 3 weeks later, with Warsong Gulch releasing the following week or two. That means they've successfully implemented a way for you to grind your way to rank 14 to acquire the best gear and weapons up until roughly AQ40 or Naxx, with the only way of farming towards it being to kill players. Granted, it wasn't so bad on PvE servers, as they could actively toggle their PvP off, and go about their day. Now, it was a completely different story on PvP servers. On PvP servers, it was a sigh of relief to finish leveling, especially if your server was outnumbered horde v. alliance or vice-versa. On PvP servers, horde and alliance were killing each other long before there was honor. The truly idiotic thing is - people would waste an hour of their time, just ganking you for no reason, because they have nothing better to do. So when honor got put in, it opened the flood gates for these people to camp boats, to camp zeppelins, to camp flight paths, because there was no other way. It was a completely avoidable mistake on Blizzards end, that was just stupid. and for those about to say I'm salty about it - I'm not, I played a rogue in classic, i'm speaking from experience. I generally left people alone, but if I had to go somewhere, or farm something like herbs, and I notice someone else farming it, I would go for the pvp. In-fact, all of the shaman on my server hated me, because they'd farsight around silithus, looking for the black lotus, and I'd roll up behind them and kill them.

The gambling part reminds me of when we had the 10 hour way event on our server. Between spawns we had a full raid of 40 doing gold rolls. I made about 8k, it was fucking amazing, I always have shit rolls, but on this day, I probably only rolled under 80 a few times.
From a guy that can't walk into a pool hall without my wife holding my wallet. The death rolls had MY heart pumping lol. Got a dopamine hit I haven't had in a very long time.

If someone claims to be "good at gambling", they really mean they're good at cheating. I could understand being good at a game like poker since there is actually a bit of skill involved in the psychology around it, but most other forms of gambling have no skill involved.

The death roll is kind of how I became the incredibly player I am today in Runescape. Although it was the flower game. Once I figured out the system making one to consistantly rig it in my favor was easy (and very similar to how I play roulette irl tbh) and I rode that train until people stopped betting with me. Threw it into rares and now years later at any time I can grab one of many items and sell it for a cash stack haphazardly.

I can definitely see the issue with Alliance people sitting in ironforge complaining about not being able to quest due to the horde killing them. In order to fight against this you have to start fighting in the first place, sitting and complaining won't do anything.

I hit rank 14 twice, once in vanilla and once in classic - and the stupidest decision Blizzard could have ever made was to release honor, without releasing all 3 battlegrounds, which they did in Vanilla, and then masterfully replicated in Classic, for no reason whatsoever. The honor patch was November 12th and the first battle ground (alterac valley) came out roughly 3 weeks later, with Warsong Gulch releasing the following week or two.
That means they've successfully implemented a way for you to grind your way to rank 14 to acquire the best gear and weapons up until roughly AQ40 or Naxx, with the only way of farming towards it being to kill players. Granted, it wasn't so bad on PvE servers, as they could actively toggle their PvP off, and go about their day. Now, it was a completely different story on PvP servers. On PvP servers, it was a sigh of relief to finish leveling, especially if your server was outnumbered horde v. alliance or vice-versa. On PvP servers, horde and alliance were killing each other long before there was honor. The truly idiotic thing is - people would waste an hour of their time, just ganking you for no reason, because they have nothing better to do.
So when honor got put in, it opened the flood gates for these people to camp boats, to camp zeppelins, to camp flight paths, because there was no other way. It was a completely avoidable mistake on Blizzards end, that was just stupid.
and for those about to say I'm salty about it - I'm not, I played a rogue in classic, i'm speaking from experience. I generally left people alone, but if I had to go somewhere, or farm something like herbs, and I notice someone else farming it, I would go for the pvp. In-fact, all of the shaman on my server hated me, because they'd farsight around silithus, looking for the black lotus, and I'd roll up behind them and kill them.
