Funny how I can’t remember why I walked upstairs but I can sing that Hee Haw song after 50 years. Hahaha
Now, that's funny! And I can relate!
🤣😂🤣😂
You always crack me up, love the little turkey and the salt and peppers are all so unusual! Toaster is awesome.
Love all you do OCS❤
Scott, that milk glass piece is called a wedding box or bowl. The tradition was that the first piece of wedding cake, cut by the bride and groom, was placed in the box and the box was placed on the head table. After the bride and groom finished serving their guests, they went back to their table and inverted the box. The cake fell into the inverted lid, the lid was placed into the inverted base where it locked in place, and the bride and groom could now eat their cake off of a pedestal plate. Try it, the top of the lid should fit snugly into the bottom of the base.
I was so excited to try this. Mine doesn't fit tight. It wobbles.😢
Sorry to hear that. They were made by about half a dozen different companies, some better than others. @@robincadwallader7426
Black Satin Panties? That made my day! 🤪😂 (OK... carry on!...)
Now you know Dee, Vinny or David will be sending Scott a gift 🎁 in the mail real soon. They can’t let this one pass 😮
@@doyeworrell1680 Perhaps... but I hope they're 'new' and not 'thrifted'... 😆
😂😂😂@@kpgunther
Today’s thrift hall was brought to you by BLAAAACK SATIN PANTIES! The yellow glass is my favorite. You only need to a least have been a kid in the 80s to remember HEE HAW. I watched it.
Oh that black fan vase! AND I’m putting it atop my Seth Thomas mantle clock because you just gave me an idea looking over your shoulder! How’s that for a breathless run on sentence! 😮
What a fantastic lamp!!
I needed a good laugh. This has been a horrible week at work. I just needed a good laugh thank you.
Me too!
What a fun video!! You never disappoint. $12.50 for that toaster was a lot of money in 1930. It’s a beauty! ❤
You had me laughing and crying at the same time. LoL
Love the work you've finished in your home, Scott. Thanks for the video. Can't wait til the Autumn Extravaganza! ❤

Hee Haw, Jr Samples and Archie Campbell? That was a funny 😄 show
The croc conversation 🤣🤣🤣 See you on Monday!
"Rear-end plumage" LOL $13 in 1930 = $231.84 in 2024, the price of gold! I'm surprised there are any of those toasters around to find. A terrific haul, Scott thanks for sharing.
The Jewel Tea Man came round with all the goodies! You are very amusing Scott.
I’m using “Crumb Tray” as an insult from now on 😉
😂😂😂😂
🤣😂🤣
Had great fun visiting with you today! Thank you so much for being you! You bring sunshine into my life and a great big smile to my lips. Love you, sweetie 😊
Dee found a vintage toaster similar to that too, it looked like new
I'm a liken that black satin fan base. Gordie Tapp was the hillbilly in the haystack. He was a Canadian and did more there than in America. He died in 2016 at age 94.
Love the toaster. I think that would have been expensive for 1930.
Loved seeing your toaster! Bravo to you for putting it together from 2!
“She looks like she could use a few prunes” 😂😂😂.
Oh Scott, I also squeal with delight when I find something of mine in an old magazine! Those salt and peppers of yours look meant for a Halloween display. Peace and Blessings 🌻🐈⬛😊
Scott you crack me up. This was a really nice haul and I can't wait for your autumn extravaganza sale.
I love the abracadabra song..did't know that line.
@@helenbailey8419 Helen, Neither did I !
@@elderlypoodle9181there is an English comedian called Peter Kay.He is so funny. He plays songs where he has misunderstood words. The song Mercy by Duff..he thought she was singing bird seed😂😂😂
Fun thrift hall.you always make these videos so interesting 🎉 wowsa 12.50 seems a lot of money to pay for a toaster in 1930. Please try to make that cake. Happy thrifting this weekend.🤗
I enjoyed seeing your finds!! Thank you, and have a great weekend, Scott. 😊
Greetings Dear Scott , Delightful treasures as always . ❤
Thanks Scott, I needed to smile today! I loved everything, so glad the wallpocket is going in your kitchen ❤
Me, too. That was to die for!
Ohhh! The cups and soucers!! I love them! Many beautiful items in this haul. 💚
From a 1940's/1950's first grade book. Alligators mouths are shaped like a "C". Crocodiles snouts are shaped like "A". I can still see the picture in my mind 70 yes. Later. 😅 My favorite today is the green jar and wall pocket. 'Til later. 😊😊😊
Abra cadabra enjoying new popularity thanks to Slim Shady!
Hi, thanks sooo much for the laughs!!!! Love the salt & peppers. Especially the alligators & of course the Hee-Haw Hillbilles! I was singing right along with you. I also watched Larwence Welk. Your the BEST!!!
Aloha 🌺 You cracked me up with the salt & pepper assortment! The Toaster is so handsome!!! Aloha 🌺🥰
Scott, that brides basket, as you called it, would look so lovely in the spring with pastel butter mints in it!
Did you see David's post regarding Tammy being hospitalized for severe Covid? Pray folks for Tammy.
Yes. I've been chatting with him.
See you Monday!
That blk fan vase is Tiffin 1930-40s..I have same one. Ah Edith Piaf, the french Judy Garland. Nice candy jar! I don't have that big boy in my collection.
Great fines! The toaster is magnificent! Check tea cup and saucers are beautiful and the anthropomorphic Salt and peppers awesome. Great show as usual. Tomorrow will be a better day!. We all have days like this. Hugs!😊

The salt and pepper shakers were a great variety of hilarious and strange. So entertainmening😂😂😂
Scott, great haul! My favorite items were the orange candy dish, and the Majolica wall pocket! You scored! 👍😉
Scott, Great Haul! You crack me up! So many good things and a good time!🙂
Love the wedding cake box! I’m looking forward to using the red one I purchased from you a couple of years ago, at Christmas - ribbon candy will be in it. My parents had the black and white version of the mid century dancer lamps - they had the double decker fiberglass shades with the black squiggles on them and black lacing whipstitched around the edges.- very midmod chic. I’m a huge fan of the alligators - they’re definitely alligators because they’re green - my husband and elder son both attended the University of Florida, where the mascot is a Gator. I might just have to consider them.
Measles said the doctor; mumps said the nurse. "Pizza said the lady with the Alligator purse!" (From the book by that name)
That poem was written about Susan B. Anthony, who always carried an alligator purse. There wasn't any pizza in the original poem.😮
Scott, so glad you bought that wall pocket for your kitchen, I collect wall pockets, with a soft spot for birds. Thank you for all your hard work educating us. You've taught me to appreciate glass. Your home is decorated beautifully. Love to see your walls, your taste is exquisite. Oh, the black panties reference? You're a scamp!
Scott, every time is see someone wrangle a gator, I think exactly that a great pair of shoes, a nice belt and a gorgeous handbag
22:00 those are called "Drip and Drop" S&P shakers. I can't remember which is which, though 😂
Who remembers the large wooden salt and pepper shakers that look like chefs, named Salty and Peppy? I found a pair in a consignment shop and had to have them. Remind me of my grandma. ❤. Kathleen
I can"t believe that you referenced Karla Bonoff!! What a blast from the past!
Love it
Scott. I love that song. But I did not know that he said black satin panties with an angel face. Ha.
Crazy K and I were singing along to Hee Haw!! 😂
Oh those “ Black Satin Panties” 😂. You were a riot today, you had me chuckling so many times through this video! I remember that song, it was great! I really liked the insertions of you finding some of these items too. Thanks Scott! 🇨🇦👏🇨🇦
Id've screamed about that magazine too. Great finds
Wow! Awesome Chrome toaster! I can’t believe it was that expensive, 12.50 was alot in 1930.
You got so many wonderful items but I almost hit the floor when you put the clip when she said. You as funny as a cry for help😂omg🤣😂
😂😂😂😂the croc s&a set...thats exactly what I think they are good for.Where I live there are Canada geese, when they get close I say"Sage and onion stuffing"..they take me seriously😂😂😂
The song was by SANTANA👏. Awesome song👍👍👍
Actually, it was the Steve Miller Band. 🤤
Oh I like the bunny on a nest.Different.
They look like Al-e-gator from Fantasia! Love the pottery cups and saucers, such colors! Heisey is always a show stopper! Great haul!
Pretty funny today😅
My mom had an amber chicken on a nest and for what ever reason, I always liked it. I recently found a cobalt blue one at a thrift store and love it!
Prudence Penny was a fabrication for The New York Mirror, a Hearst paper. When the woman who did the column died, she was replaced by a man, Hyman Goldberg, who outed himself in 1964 with a cookbook, Our Man in the Kitchen, which I happen to have. His introduction is hilarious. I just noticed I have numerous bookmarks in that book, and I know I've not tried any of the recipes. I need 9 lives, like a cat, to catch up with all my bookmarks. Anyway, I loved that little not Jewel Tea bowl, and the toaster is a work of art. Please do a demonstration and toast a slice of bread for us, that would be delightful. Breakfast with Scott. Ham and eggs, and some 1930 toast. Last night I couldn't sleep, so I got out my 1927 spring and summer Sears catalog and went on a deep dive. Lots of pink, green, and amber glass, so it was popular well before the depression. Sorry to ramble, and thanks!
The toaster and the wallpocket are to die for. You find such great stuff on your side of the state! I live over the mountains on the Pittsburgh side. We just don't have such nice stuff. People over here tended to throw stuff away; I think. But I grew up on your side of the state, and I remember all the good thrift shopping over there. I still have a doll I bought in a thrift shop in Harrisburg in the early 1960s. She'll always remind me of my time there. Thanks for sharing 😊😊
Your lovely clock was relaxing me then I saw the yellow and red salt pepper shakers. Yikes. No. Kidding. I enjoyed everything but really like the clock ticking. Thanks as always you cheer me up. Nice toaster by the way
Love the Mrazek Pottery!!! The colors are amazing! Have boxes of them 🤗
😊😊your inserts are both informative and hilarious
I remember He Haw came on after Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights, aka, bath night.
You should do a lead test on the love cup and saucers. Love them.
Lots of fun tonight! You were really feeling your oats!!! We watched Hee Haw on Saturday nights too, along with the Lawrence Welk show. I remember sitting on the floor while my mom rolled my hair in curlers, and of course she used Dippity Do!!!! Those were the days!
I loooove that toaster.
I love the Alligator s&p shakers. 🐊🐊 All of that "stuff" is awesome 👌 🤩 🐈⬛
The $12 in 1930 would be $226 today. Expensive toaster.
Great finds Scott... thanks for taking us along!
Autumn is looking pretty good and loved the salt and pepper shakers ,the toaster is beautiful.Have a wonderful sale thank you for making me laugh at your really funny jokes .😀👍
I recently bought a candy dish thingy very similar at a thrift store.😊
Maybe you got the song confused with Knights in black satin....hmmmm Since you asked my favorite of your haul are the dog ceramics. Especially the one with the wonky mouth. Love it.
I found one of those white candy boxes at a thrift store with absolutely no chips on the lid. The person at the counter loosely wrapped a piece of newspaper around it and threw it in a bag. I didn't realize what was happening. When I got home, the lid was chipped, and the chipped off piece was in the bag. 😮😢
Scott, if you'd move your dang head then I could get a better look at that beautiful still-life. Based on the 🎨 I would guess it was painting between the wars as well. Holy smokes, tons o' treasures today. I love the small chalkware leaping lamp. Thanks pal for another interesting show.
I can understand your excitement !
The song from the 80s is by the steve Miller band I think beautiful teacups the toaster is cool
Lol. Your female alligator sounded just like Gypsy on MST3000.😊
Kiss kiss! Lol
Thank you for this video. I have the Virus (first time). ❤ Lynn in Surprise, Arizona
Use the black light on the back of the painting that you are researching. It might show writing that has faded. Speaking of a painting is that painting behind you of two people something new????
No I've had it for a few years and I think talked about it in an old video.
Tim, just curious, about the candy jars of the 1920’s and 30’s. What type of candies did these lidded jars hold? Was it sweet confectionery from a shop or were the candies mostly homemade? I know candies were a special treat, not like today where stuff , candy is at every turn. These vintage candy jars seem so special, I can only imagine wealthier families may have had these as anything with sugar was fairly pricey 😉. Thanks👍
Oh just like today.....homemade or store bought.
Who knew a black satin glass fan vase was so racey.
1960’s?! What you talking about, Willis?
I mean, yeah... what is up with that, Willis? 😜 (or Davis...)
Your toaster is on the Ex-Lady (1933) starring Bette Davis. About 7 minutes in.
I'm glad you didn't edit it out... 😂😂😂
Oh and I forgot to mention I have my grandmother's wedding date I still have the Top and the pain one of the top broke😢
🐊🐊🐊
The Steve Miller Band 😉
🤣🤣🤣
Watched "Hee Haw", huh?
What cha talkin bout Willis?
Blenko in Amberina? ❤️👋🙌👍😎
How old do you think the tin container is?
I'd say no more than 65 years old.
