    1. It’s possible to start off with a great leader rather than a hard coded terrible one
    2. You don’t have any real threats in the early-mid game
    3. You can migrate south to Mexico, convert to Nuahatl and reform the religion quickly since by then you’d have both a tech advantage against the mesoamericans and have access to all those OPMs in Nth America.
    4. You have arguably the best ideas in the Americas with buffs to discipline, morale, goods produced etc.
    5. You are a glorious shade of lime green.
    6. You can migrate to a gold producing province to get cashed up in the early game.

    Georgia is actually really easy and fun to play. If you directly attack Imereti and after that samtskhe before they get any allies you can take bake your cores. Those lands will start of with 0 autonomy and no unrest because they are your cores which will give you a great power base to attack circassia which almost never gets any good allies so thats another easy win. At this point you could start improving relations with muscovy and because you are orthodox and not that small anymore getting an alliance shouldn't be that hard. From there on out you can easily use Muscovy to destroy the nomads, while at the same time eating some more minors that are bound to be left near you. In this way I got Georgia to become a great power before 1520.

  • @WileyBoxx

    • @robinbanks3186
      @robinbanks3186 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aerohydra3849 On a tier list I'd probably put them in the D tier. Heir bonus is super situational, and the only time you're gonna need bonus legitimacy is when you've died without an heir anyway. Construction cost is dogshit, war exhaustion is completely negligible, true faith is sub-par, and infantry cost might as well not even be there.

    • @pinkpidgeon6926
      @pinkpidgeon6926 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robinbanks3186 Nah i argue its C tier or just average in terms of ideas.
      Infantry combat ability is nice and fort defense is actually good because you have bunch of mountain provninces and you can siege race easily and combined with defensive its good.
      Yearly legitimacy while bad i'd argue that chance of new heir is good because in early game you want to expand fast and that means bunch of prestige which means disinherits so it reduces time to get new heir.
      Tolerance of true faith is good actually especially combined with orthodox religion and picking religious ideas means your orthodox provininces are pretty stable.
      Improve relations,manpower recovery speed,diplos rep are good.
      Monthly war exhaustion is the worst one with -0.02 value which pretty but still good in age of absolutism.
      Construction cost may be subpar but in georgia's poor land it helps with economy.
      Infantry cost in general is not good but its -20% value actually makes difference.
      Georgia's start can be rough but if you can take back your cores you can expand pretty easily and ally muscuvy(after they annex their vassals) and its smooth sailing from there.

  • @Vincrand
    @Vincrand 5 ปีที่แล้ว +43

    Georgian ideas bad? Infantry combat ability is great, manpower recovery speed is great (orthodox already gives more manpower), improve relations with 30% is great, construction cost is good. Monthly war exhaustion is decent. Infantry cost will save quite a lot of ducats, which can be used for advisors.

      @@rofl0rblades I haven't seen it but the usual strategy when you want to eat as much land as possible in the last 200 years is to culture shift. You can core all land in the culture group in ~12 months (faster if you have CCR in your idea set, or a bonus like Mayan). So basically you are constantly in multiple wars, culture shifting to core, and declaring with nationalism cb (-50% cost) NOT imperialism (-75% cost). You can take like 250% overextension in a single war if you declare with a -50% cost CB. Long story short, a lot of micro.
      bly08 did a Mongol WC by 1580 in the Dharma patch, and Marco has the current record, 1538 WC with the 1.24 Japan patch. They did it by culture shifting to core 800% overextension in under 12 months (no rebels).

    The rare 20% caravan power is amazing when you're surrounded by rich inland trade nodes. This was even better pre-dharma when you could easily switch to a merchant republic and be swimming in ducats.

    I had fun playing with Betsimisirarka or whatever they're called. I wanted to start a Madagascar campaign and chose them because of their weird name and cool flag.. I ended up having lots of fun. Unifying Madagascar is super easy, then you just need to be fast enough to conquer Mutapa and their gold mines before Kilwa does the same, if you succeed, you basically have the path for the horn of Africa and Ethiopia clear in front of you.. Just go north following the coast and keep eating everything in front of you until you stumble on the ottomans in Egypt.. no problem since you're insanely rich thanks to all those gold mines, just be careful with plucky rebels and inflation. I must admit that if you fail to conquer Mutapa quickly, then things are much more hard. . In a second game I started with Betsimisirarka, I was too slow in unifying the island, so Kilwa expanded a lot in the meantime. So when I was ready to get the hell out of Madagascar, what I had in front of me was thousands of miles of Kilwan coast, defended by a navy much more strong by mine.

      I did a challenge run as Antemoro (the only muslim nation on Madagascar) where I was only allowed to own coastal provinces, I had fun conquering and colonizing, forming client states with perfect borders who stretched all the way to the Kongo basin. I even conquered Sri Lanka and used it as a base to invade the rest of India. One of the most fun runs I ever did.

    · -10% manpower due to drunk lads jumping into the swimming pool from the seventh floor in Mallorca
    · +20% national tax modifier due to your dentists
    · You can cancel alliances with Europeans receiving huge penalties, regret it and be fucking ridiculous.
    · Due to putting carpet in the bathrooms, as a hygiene penalty you have an stability debuff.

    Georgia is fun to play actually!
    It's possible to reliably conquer the other Georgian minors, Trebizond, Circassia and Theodoro without any extraordinary luck (you just only hope that Circassia and Theodoro aren't annexed/vassalized before you do) within 15-20 years for a moderately skilled player like me. All orthodox land so unrest will be easily manageable. You can also ally Muscovy within few years and that will often be enough to deter any aggressors. At this point you will be bordering so many nations that some routes of expansions should always be open.
    Culture switch to Pontic early in the game and wait for a moment of weakness for Ottomans to happen and you can even restore the Byzantine Empire. I did in my last game. And I don't consider myself a very skilled player.

    I'm playing Haida right now. I'm at 1700 and like 20 techs behind. I focused on colonizing, and now own Alaska, the entire west coast up to Mexico, and defeated Brittany (which somehow is a major colonial power). This is actually my first native campaign, so I didn't know how to reform so converted to protestantism which put me in a civil war from the -4 stability. So far ive embraced Feudalism, Global Trade, and am about to get the Renaissance. This may sound odd, but I'm actually really enjoying the campaign! After you get through the 'paint drying' phase, and start colonizing, it actually starts picking up in entertainment value.

  • @Quetzalcoatlv3
    @Quetzalcoatlv3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Ok. My advice to you is:
    1) If you're struggling with any nation just develop your provinces. It doesn't matter if you fall behind few techs, few years later you will get -20% tech cost for being late and you will get massive income boost. Like really massive. Also manpower/force limit is nice.
    2) DON'T UNDERESTIMATE +1 prestige idea! Prestige is very powerful.
    3) + with developing your provinces you get institutions! so you can embrace Renaissance even in China fairly quickly!

    Gerogia's NI's are not awful. There's certainly worse. +Improve Relations for example isn't bad, and cheap infantry with +10% CA isn't awful. Or you can be me and form Coptic Mughals as Georgia [pre-Mughal patch so there's no Islam requirement.]

Your galleys are also much cheaper, which makes it even easier to horde them. The starting strat with them is incredibly easy. Independence from Venice, then do a no CB war on Byzantium (you don’t want a ticking CB against you) and then you just blockade them until they get enough war exhaustion to peace out for the ottoman cores. It’s actually fairly easy to beat the shit out of both of those enemies as long as Austria rivals Venice.

    Morocco is actually horrible to play in 1.29, it was fine in 1.26 but now the Iberian nations are much more aggressive and you start off split into 4 nations, you will fight all Portugal, Castile, Aragon and you disloyal vassals, your expansion options are: destroy Iberian nations before Iberian wedding or fight Ottomans invading Tunisia. You have zero alliance capability as your only non-hostile neighbor, Tlemcen dies in the first 20 years.
    In 1.26 you started with a gold mine, no vassals - all core territory, you had slight chance for Aragon/Castile alliance and Iberians were not automatically expanding south - it was fun as you had a good shot at colonization and expansion along the African coast with potential Spanish alliance.

    Iceland has to be one of the worst:
    1 has generic idea set
    2 releasable from Norway who will annex you
    3 whopping starting development of 6 and nowhere to expand
