I like the front end of the 2020 Chevy. I liked it the first time I saw it. The 2020 Chevy/GMC 2500 HD total GCVW is equal to my 2018 GMC 3500 HD 4x4 SRW @27,000 plus lbs. Thanks for sharing this information and video JB.
Me too! I think the truck looks aggressive and so different from what you’re used to seeing. That’s pretty crazy but I’m glad they stepped up because I rarely see these trucks doing hot shot work. When are you trading for your 2020👀... thanks for supporting the channel Richard!
When you turn the drive mode nob to the left engaging trailer tow the alternator gauge turns into a pyrometer to monitor your exhaust temperature, I found it by accident on my 2020 LTZ
Awesome detail thanks for taking the time to make one I can't decide which of the 3 diesels I like the best. I heard great things about the ford but loved the drive of the durmax. Also afraid that tailgate would be a costly repair.
No problem! The good news is that tailgate is most likely old technology that they use for trunks on higher end cars so parts probably aren’t expensive if you do it yourself 👍🏾
I know I'm way late on this video but is that max payload capacity number from the Chevy website or did you pull that from the actual sticker on the truck? Trying to decide between 2500 and 3500 in the 2020 and if that's the real max payload then the 2500 will be enough for me. Thanks JB!
I know use gooseball, which is better the 5th wheel hitch or gooseball? I'm thinking of using the gooseball. I currently have a B&W Companion but it is super heavy.
JB Reviews I wish all manufacturers went that way I know ford you can raise it to 10,800. But they should make all 3:4 tons have an option for at least 11,000. I think it would make it safer for some people because I think some never think about the pin weight and just look at the towing capacity because I have seen a lot of 3:4 tons pulling trailers that should be pulled by a 1 ton SRW and 1 ton Drw.
I dont know if its the Ford 6.7 Powerstroke 2019 I received but I just do not see where all this money went into!?!? Dont get me wrong the 6.7 is a beautiful powerhouse for towing my 10,000 pound travel travel trailer but it makes me somewhat iffy on moving up to the Grand Design Reflection 31MB. Its not the pulling power its the quality of the build! The truck is two years old and my windshield fluid tank has already rotted, ive already had to replace two batteries and get the "Death Wobble" recall done which seems to help at the moment but my point is its a SuperDuty truck that cost $80,000 with a Tractor Trailer engine in it that ill have to put bare minimum $2,000 into it to feel truly dependable not to mention whoever ordered it didn't think to get upfitter switches,5th wheel/gooseneck prep package (but put a aftermarket gooseneck hitch in) on a Lariat 3.55 ratio plus is from the North East and didn't get a block heater on diesel!! The only reason I still have it (after the dealership delivered the wrong truck as I ordered 6.7 with 4.10s gearing 350 SRW but they showed up with this) is i have to tow what I have! I have absolutely no complaints about a TT and the powerstroke so far anyway but the truck doesn't make sense to me and why put a aftermarket gooseneck for 14,000 pounds 3.55 gearing 160 inch wheelbase which I guess thats the correct gooseneck rating as thats all I can find! Like your reviews bro you do great! Let the haters hate and do your thing! Me personally its none of my business what people think of me or my videos if they hate themselves that bad to say "Get off of TH-cam" i mean whats that about. People just need to get a better sense of themselves these days and back into reality man! If anyone is going to be towing serious weight do not buy under 2020 unless you're extremely experienced is my advice!
Nice job as usual. Maybe you could shed some light on this, what exactly defines a three-quarter ton Or one ton Truck? I thought the three quarter tons were all 10k GVWR? To me Chevy has created something in between 3/4 and 1 ton.
Those numbers used to refer to the carrying capacity of the truck, for instance 1/2 ton could carry a half a ton (1,000 lbs) passengers and in the bed. Now days trucks can carry far more than those numbers, so while those numbers don't reflect the actual payload capacity anymore, they are still used to represent the class of the truck.
Big D Productions So In reality the model Numbers don’t mean anything. So Ram or whoever, theoretically could just slap a 2500 badge on a 3500 and say hey look at our awesome 3/4 Ton numbers. Throw a regular pickup bed on a 5500 call it a 3500 etc. Seems like more marketing gimmickery going on than we realize.
@@supporterofsanity granted there is a lot of marketing and all involved. For instance the "Heavy Duty". To me Heavy Duty is a class 8 semi because I have a CDL and deoce CDL. But they would get caught pretty quick switching badges on trucks. It may go over for about a month or so, but they would get caught quick.
It’s really close. The Allison transmission is better than the Aisin in my opinion. I think RAM needs to refine the Aisin more and get rid of that dead pedal at launch. It wouldn’t surprise me if a standard Cummins would take the HO off the line...
@@JB_WhoWork this video is making me lean toward a 2021 4d 4wd with the duramax maybe lt for a large 4th wheel. What do you think about using that model for a 5th wheel?
Love the Ram but when I look at these trucks and talk with dealership sales guys the Ram keep coming in about 6k above the GM. Even the Fords for 2020 have lower published prices than Ram. I know Ram has up's their game but it's hard to justify that extra money when all these trucks are so good anymore.
Yea RAM stepped up quality and with the materials being better, comes a premium price. People who used to have to have a Bimmer or Benz are moving over to these luxury trucks and will pay for them... Thanks for sharing!
@@JB_WhoWork I think the one thing that stands out to me in favor of the RAM is all the options you can get. The two tone ext, the two tone int, regular cab, crew cab, mega cab, etc... those a huge pluses when you are spending that money. It kind of gives you the feel of a full custom truck. If RAM can meet the GM pricing and throw me a good deal it's a no brainer. If they are 5 to 8k higher I would definitely just go GM. Love the videos.
David Brown good insight! RAM does have the most configurations and pkg’s but you gonna pay for it lol! Ford is still the highest price because their trucks can exceed $100K. I still love my RAM though!
😂 😂 😂! Yea the truck is very controversial for sure but I think it will catch on. The only thing this truck needs is a plastic reduction in the interior... Thanks for sharing!
Disappointing that they did not give one-touch up (auto-up) on all the passenger windows. Makes no sense. Even the cheapest BMW, Mercedes, and many others give that as standard.
I have the High Country model front end looks nicer with the bow tie emblem best I got empty was 11.8 litres per 100 kilometers after 963 kilometers driven
You can automatically shift it on the fly but with Chevrolet, it literally will kick in while you driving if your wheels start to slip without you having to engage it.
L5P has lots of issues man stay away I had one the older body though, old tech too cast iron block as opposed to ford and rams CGI. The fuel system also isn’t made for American diesel fuel. The truck engine is junk trust me especially in the extreme cold

@@JB_WhoWork I will have to wait for a couple more years before I can move up to my dream truck.
Richard West is that the GMC 3500 dura?
@@JB_WhoWork Yes. Max towing for my truck is something like 17,000 plus and the truck is total weight is 11500 gross for payload, passengers etc.
Just checked the GMC 2018 max gooseneck/5th wheel towing for my truck is 17,200.
It is tough to pick a heavy duty truck they are all top notch

I like the masculinity of it but it has that dog face, but can’t remember what type of dog it’s called 🤔... Thanks for sharing!
I think the GMC looks great though
@@jrod2500 this gives off more of a work truck vibe compared to the more civilized GMC
The truck looks like it's got saggy eye bags.. I just don't like it at all! Might get one though to replace my 2008 tundra though.. Or the f250
Been watching alot of your videos man, they’re pretty good. I like your honesty. Like and subscribed 🤙🏽
Appreciate the support 👍🏾
I like the truck but I just can’t get passed that Chevy front end. The GMC is really nice. I love the GMC AT4.
If I had to pick, it would be the GMC front end and that AT4 is sick! Still need to get some keys for one, Thanks for sharing!

I just bought the duramax I love it so far mine 19
That payload is insane for a 3/4 ton diesel. Almost or even greater than some 1 ton SRW diesels.
Yup, and that’s because they raised that GVWR 👍🏾
