- This time, I would like to introduce the Koyasan Shingon sect ``Tomyoji'' located in Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture.
This is a mountain temple located on the side of a hill called Yata Hills, and is an old temple with a history that was built during the Asuka period.
The area is rich in nature and has an unpretentious atmosphere that blends in with the landscape.
There are also magnificent maple trees, making it a hidden spot for autumn leaves.
The history of Tomyoji Temple begins when the then Emperor Jito suffered from an eye disease and recovered, and his son-in-law, Imperial Prince Toneri, took over the temple. It is said that it was founded by.
Imperial Prince Toneri was the son of Emperor Tenmu, the husband of Emperor Jito, and is famous for being the central figure in compiling the Nihon Shoki, one of Japan's oldest history books.

東明寺だけでなく、子どもの遊ぶ広場に行けたり、また別のお寺に行けたりと、一日のんびりと散歩するのに良さそうなところですね。いつかぜひ行ってみたいです。
