比叡山 延暦寺の散策: Walking Around Mt.Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji Temple（Kyoto, Japan）

- 強風の中、八瀬比叡山口から延暦寺東塔エリアを経て横川までを散策いたしました。強風のロープウェイはとてもスリルがありました。
【Enryaku-ji(延暦寺)】
Enryaku-ji is a Tendai monastery located on Mount Hiei in Ōtsu, overlooking Kyoto. It was founded in 788 during the early Heian period (794-1185). The temple complex was established by Saichō (767-822), also known as Dengyō Daishi, who introduced the Tendai sect of Mahayana Buddhism to Japan from China. Enryaku-ji is the headquarters of the Tendai sect and one of the most significant monasteries in Japanese history. As such, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities)". The founders of Jōdo-shū, Sōtō Zen, and Nichiren Buddhism all spent time at the monastery. Enryaku-ji is also the center for the practice of kaihōgyō (aka the "marathon monks").

美しい比叡山の諸堂を拝することができてありがたいです。根本中堂を除かれたのは、やはり大修理中で絵面が良くないからでしょうか。しかし中堂なしの延暦寺はやはり寂しいですね。あとは横川の元三大師堂周辺や無動寺谷や黒谷など。また比叡山やそのお膝元の坂本などの撮影をしていただけたら嬉しいです。

本編とは関係ないのですが終盤に出てくる１本の桜の木がなぜか心に残りました。冒頭に出てくる街を包む虹のように早く日本に幸せが戻るよう祈るばかりです。

いつもながらお心遣いありがとうございます。私も、終盤の桜はとても気になり撮影させていただきました。建物自体は文化財という感じではなさそうでしたが心惹かれるものがございました。比叡山は京都から登るか滋賀から登るかでいつも迷ってしまいます（笑）

This monastery was founded in 788. This is one of the most significant sacred place for Japanese people.

Can't wait to visit Japan again. This kind of historical and cultural places has been my favourite place in Japan. They are perfectly maintained in a way that I can always feel a sense of peace fell upon my soul whenever I am there. I can still remember on my last trip to Kyoto that when I was visiting a temple and walking around it, how those very soft and refreshing breezes brushed gently my face while the trees and brushes ware waving alongside. Everything was so modest, quiet, sacred and remarkably enchanting. Thank you for your fascinating video for giving me a chance to recall my pleasant memories in Japan, my greetings to you all the way from Hong Kong, a place where insecurity, darkness and despotism have encompassed everything.

虹が見えたり、強風で木の葉をざわめかせているのも、いつもより光差す雰囲気も、おいでおいでと人を惹き込むような魔力があります。初秋に行ったときも空気感が違うと思いましたが、さらに別世界のように見えます。山上に朱の立派なお堂があり、スギが林立するシーンは本当に美しいです。Anna さんの映像は美しすぎて、同じところを撮っても絶対太刀打ちできない。比叡山や延暦寺と同じく圧倒的に雄大にして繊細です。自分の目で見たものより力があるといつも思います。

虹が！風で空を澄み、段を上がりながら阿弥陀堂が見えてくる映像はあたかも自分がそこにいるような錯覚でした！空がきれいで建物の朱色とのコントラストが素敵ですね！

Unforgettable scenery and architecture. I was walking along these paths in heavy rain a couple of years ago. Visiting all the shrines and hidden gems. Took the cable car down to the bus halt. Best piece of work. Well edited and presented. Good luck.

帰りはロープウェイとケーブルで下まで降り、叡山電車に乗ったのですがケーブルのスローペースに慣れたためか、ローカル電車に乗った瞬間あまりの速さに新幹線に乗っている気分になりました（笑）

i was there back in Nov. cruised all around it....even walked to the other side....up to the 848m point and then to the garden with the Monet motif and the little cafe'. It was nice and brisk. i loved it!

八瀬ルート、ロープウェーから京北の街並みを見下ろせる。坂本ルート、琵琶湖を見下ろせる。どちらも絶景です。地図だと坂本は遠回りに見えますが、どのみち八瀬も叡山電車（または京都バス）、ケーブル、ロープウェー、比叡山頂駅から東塔までシャトルバスと乗り継ぎが多いのであまり変わりません。

Excellent video! I think I went there when I was a high school student, but we went only the main temple. It is very quiet and no one around. We went Nijo-jo and Nishi Honganji this January.
Kyoto is my favorite city and this temple is so far away from the center of Kyoto, it is not so easy to go. Thanks for your excellent job.

まだ そんなに外国の方が多くない時代に行きましたが😃 行った気になっていたんですね。Anna さんが見せて下さいました。よく歩きましたね～ コロナが騒がれ始めた時は『行くなら今がチャンス』と思ったり... 今は東京から出られません。京都は別格ですね。歴史は歴史... 今は今です。Annaさんの真っ直ぐな お気持ちで色々な風景を観させて下さいね。

Love your coverage of Enryakuji. It is possibly my favorite temple, between Kenchoji in Kamakura and Saijoji in Minamiashigara. Really enjoying the depictions. Please shoot Sanzen-in during the Autumn leaves, if you can. One of my favorite moments during my 2016 trip to Japan was watching the leaves fall in the Shuheki-en Garden. The older Japanese watching were actually gasping and in awe as the colored leaves blew off of the trees into the pond. It was very moving to watch.

This place reminds me so much of Shoshasan Engyoji Temple, Himeji where I've visited before. Would definitely visit this place when international travel is allowed again. I miss Japan, thank you for making these videos. Feels like I'm there walking alongside you.
