I am an entrepreneur from Europe, this is very sad news. I loved doing business with the states but if these kind of things can happen at any moment I am going to focus my company on other markets and will stop doing business with the US. It is too big of a risk for me if this can happen overnight.

It's largely due to the nature of what the US imports; the reason why the US can throw its weight around whenever it wants is that at the end of the day, we don't actually "need" the overwhelming majority of what we import, while most countries who are importing from us "need" what we export.
It's effectively a ton of luxury goods coming in with essential goods going out. For example, Canada's primary export to the US is crude oil because they let their processing capabilities slip and they can still make money by selling to the US which has the processing capabilities to handle it. Mexico's exports to the US are largely produce/agriculture(much more produce) and then vehicles/parts from factories that US and Euro companies built there to get around labor costs. Quite literally, the US doesn't actually need to import anything from either country, while both countries rely on products that come out of the US.
China is a different story because of the manufacturing ties; we offshored almost all of it to Asia and it's proving to be a very binding tie indeed.
Europe? I'm sure there are some things that are essential that are produced there but again, the imports from the US are likely much more necessary than the exports to it from that region.
If you want to only focus on selling to non-US nations, you're basically taking the largest purchaser of whatever non-essential goods you have and removing it from the equation. China only purchases necessities or things it can immediately copy and produce more cheaply at home, so it's not going to be a great long term prospect.
I wish you well in your entrepreneurial enterprise, and hope clarity comes over the coming weeks/months.

I always say that I never liked Trump much, but I do like what he's been doing so far. It's refreshing to see him come into office and seemingly do things fast and for the benefit of the country. How’s the tariffs going to go? I have no idea, but I do feel he's trying to do it for the right reasons. I'm pleasantly surprised by Trump so far
