Oh, me, too .... my mom’s been gone 4 years & I still tear up sometimes when I see a mother & daughter shopping together - and when my sister & I are shopping together, we often say, “oh, look, Mommy would’ve loved this “ - still miss my grandmother so much & she’s been gone over 30 years - I guess you really never get over these kind of losses 💔😰
My Mom- best friend has been gone for 17 years... and my Dad also... both to cancer months apart. I was early 40’s when I lost them. I still cry for them.... they were everything to me. Sometimes I think I can smell my Mother’s perfume or hear her call me. I know ...our mind plays games and some voices are deep in our memory ...... and my Dad’s gentle smile, wink and big strong hands.....😢
Not quite the same, but my mom and I were always hanging out and doing fun things. She is in assisted living now and I am so thankful to still have her and my dad, but I do so miss our times out and about together.
@Jayne Brown - I loved that arched window, too - the price seemed kind of high but I have looked for an arched window like that for years - they are rare, at least in Florida - I think I would have had to take that home with me - even though now when I buy something new for the house, I have to walk around with it in my arms trying to figure out where I can possibly put it - I’m pretty decored up already ! 😊

I’m in New York Stare ( UPSTATE NY...NOT CITY OR DOWNSTATE). and we have Antique Stores, there are no GREAT FINDS for a couple of dollars around me. If you collect items or want something , it’s the price you see. 😕 Once in a while at Auctions when dealers aren’t interested in something I can WIN! LOL!!! I was more surprised at the blue bucket Andrea liked. The window I loved and probably would have considered that price ...😉
I've been to Southport. Our music minister and his family moved there several years ago. Such a cute place to visit. We so miss the beach! We moved from North Carolina back to KY in 2017. Kentucky is beautiful but in a different way with gently rolling hills and horse farms. I think I'm ready to go antiquing! Glad you had a fun day with your Mom! tfs Happy Easter! 💜
Hey I LOVE Southport. We use to stay at Carolina Beach and ride over on the ferry and (eat at the Provisions restaurant on the pier it got messed up during the hurricane season a couple yrs ago! ) But we would walk into town and shop. There was a store on down toward the park that sells the cutest antiques in it. Hope your family has a great time. My daughter is going down to Kure Beach this week with our Family and children preacher. She and my daughter works together at church some and have become great friends over the years.
Southport has always been special to us and is not that far from where we live. Attended summer camp at the Baptist Assembly at the very end of the island. My yearly must do was the Christmas home tour. My husband's parents had a cottage on Oak Island so while some fished I walked around Southport..looked in the shops..had lunch..and sat by the water. I just love it. Thanks for the unexpected trip.🌻

Oh my goodness Andrea. You are in my neck of the woods. I love going to that Antique mall in Southport. I even know which booth you were in with the squeaky floor, lol. Southport has so many great thrift/antique stores where treasures can be found. Make sure to check out the Salvation Army and the Habitat for Humanity stores. I usually find something that I just can't live without 😄
I think you should have bought some of those blue and off white pitchers and old crocks they were so beautiful, I would have bought some of those, just saying.🌠🕊

My family had a beach house on Oak Island at Caswell Beach when I was growing up. It was heaven for a kid. Southport is beautiful.
