- "Meet the Mets" is the fight song of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball.
The song first appeared in 1962, heralding the return of National League baseball to New York City. It was written in 1961 by Ruth Roberts and Bill Katz. A modernized version was recorded in 1984.

Love the organ version; reminds me of when I was a kid and religiously watched the Mets; Now it's the Braves in GA, but it's never the same like it was with your first love.
Jane Jarvis, "the Queen of Melody" as they called her, played that organ for almost four decades at Shea Stadium.

I'm a lifelong Cardinals' fan, who now lives in Queens (about 2.3 miles from Citifield). My team was eliminated by the Cubs, so I can now throw my support to the Mets! The Mets have had a great season--with still greater things to happen! I love baseball too much to start ignoring the World Series!!!
