It always amazes me how easily “Christians” in our nation have been convinced that God loves national borders and immigration laws more than He loves people. That He loves capitalism more than He loves the poor.
It is the Republican Party that is claiming that they represent “Christian values”. A true believer would know all this physical is temporary. This nation has done more than our far share of fucking up this planet’s environment and has contributed greatly to the political unrest in Central and South America. It does seem weird here how he talks about polygraph tests as if they have some legitimacy, when they have been thoroughly debunked as a means of detecting lies. On the other hand, if the applicants believe in them enough to admit to serious crimes like rape and kidnapping, then maybe they _should_ keep doing them after all.
Yeah, this feels like a cherry-picked piece of info to support the piece’s message. In fact, polygraphs and how they have been shown to be bunk science is exactly a topic I could see Last Week Tonight covering.

He said the border patrol knew immediately that the shooting was unjustified. He was a trainer at the nearby training camp at the border. they were having problems with excessive force with new agents.
Anyone who thinks a polygraph does anything positive is ignoring the 70% false rate across countless studies. In fact they only potentially work for examples like the ones mentioned where people volunteer information separate from the polygraph. They can get as much info from just regular questioning.

"It wasn't on the original Statue or Liberty it was added later", by that logic it means the 2nd amendment doesn't count because it was added to the constitution later.
Oh, John. You phrase it as a joke, but there is actually a sign posted by National Park staff that reads, "Please don't feed or molest the alligators." Yes, I do live in Florida.
Smoking weed "20,000 times in a 10-year-period" is such an odd phrasing that tells you nothing about someone's weed habits. That could mean taking 5-6 tiny hits a day, spaced hours apart, and it would be quite unremarkable. Or it could mean 5-6 blunts to the face every day, each taking a dedicated half hour and potentially being very impactful on one's life, job, family, etc.

20,000 times in a 10 year period sounds outlandish but the math checks-out. That's roughly 5.4 times each day, which would be considered a light smoker.
Here's one for you, I attended an unemployment orientation, and they had jobs available for people coming out of prisons and staying in halfway houses, but the TSA Jobs we're only being offered to those people out of prison and in halfway houses not to regular people that have had no prison background whatsoever.
the guy who smoked marijuana 20,000 times in 10 years had to have been smoking marijuana 5-6 per day every day for ten years straight. his brain was probably 50% weed addiction and 40% weed-induced mush, and the remaining 10% reserved for retaining the intelligence necessary to continue purchasing weed.

The state that gets the title of the worst state is definitely Wyoming. You drive through there, and it's a vast land of nothingness in every direction you look. If and when you finally find other people, there's no where to eat, or to stop and use the bathroom, so you'll have to go in a field of the vast nothingness where there isn't even a tree or a shrub to block you. Maybe a tumble weed, but then it quickly blows away. The one and only cool thing about the srate is Devil's Tower. A huge, tall, wide rock that looks like a giant tree stump.
