  • A mother and her daughters were in a scenic spot outside Phoenix, Arizona, to take photos in the midst of a super bloom of wildflowers. Out of nowhere, they were attacked by a swarm of bees. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they covered the bees with foam. Although the children were not hurt, the mother received over 75 bee stings from the ordeal. Inside Edition's Les Trent spoke with beekeeper Anthony Planakis on safety tips in case a swarm of bees attacks.

This happened to me and bunch of other kids from the neighborhood in the 90s. We were playing on the edge of the woods near our houses and one of my brothers kicked a log and we got swarmed. There were 9 kids and 4 parents that had run out to help us. All of us got multiple stings; the worst was a 5 year old that got at least 25 stings. Luckily nobody was allergic so everyone ended up okay but it was caos. I remember some of the girls had them caught all in their hair.

They crawled in my hair, in my shirt, in my shorts and tore me up!!! I escaped them by jumping into the bayou, so much pain I didn’t even think of the local 10ft Gator that patrolled our bayou. I came back up for a breath only to be met with dive bombers to the face. I remember going back under, digging my hands in the mud, and started piling the mud on my head, gradually getting out of the water and applying more mud as more of my body was exposed. Luckily my father was driving by and saw me. When I got home, and my father hosed me off, we noticed what ever hornets were on me, were encased in a thick mud and where unable to sting me further…… the guy is right, they will wait for you on the surface of the water….. but if you got mud, COAT IT THICK!!!!!

Bees can see you really well, they don’t just react to movement like flies do. I found that i was allergic to bees when i was 11 and stung by a nest of yellow jackets in the ground. I almost died but i almost immediately began building an immunity to all stinging insects through monthly injections of venom. I would get 12 shots in each arm once a month for 12 years. This was twice as long as most people do it but nobody told me to stop going and my insurance kept paying for it. I cannot begin to tell you the benefits of it though. I am now 48, i look like i’m in my early 30’s according to everyone, I NEVER seem to get sick and i’m strong as an ox. This is not normal in my family, i’m the only one that still has the same 30” waist since high school. I heal fast, never get infections and more. Plus, I don’t get reactions to stings too. I think i owe it all to the bees.

I for the life of me had never seen anything like it. I was on the patio just enjoying the sunshine and my cat was on the patio with me. Out of nowhere I hear the neighbors screaming at us to get inside. I look to my right and a huge swarm of bees, large enough to cover the house was heading in our direction. I grabbed my cat, flung her into house and yelled at my step mom to close all the windows. I went to the left side of the patio to scream at the other neighbors to get inside. And went inside myself at the last minute. For about 10 minutes the swarm was all around the house. My cat was at the window watching and she was puffed up because she was really scared. As far as I know no one got stung and they eventually moved on.

I let him go and I was then being attacked, I yelled for my mom to get off her horse to help. I literally stripped my clothes off. Even after my mom said my pants were fine to put back on I didn't trust that fact because the first time she said it one was still in there, so I didn't trust the second time. I walked 40ft to get my horse and I rode back without pants and very sore legs and arms. That had to be 12+ years ago now.

I am glad that I do not have ability to feel pain when I catch wasp with my bare hand as child. And I just let wasp go when I just feel poked and I was mysteriously by this. No pain at all. My whole family went pikachu surprised, especially my twin sister (she already experienced few times with wasps and ended crying endlessly). I developed ability to feel pain quite late and doctors do not know why. But I did get twice hurt by honeybee in different few years. It so badly that I zipped out with all might. Before I realized I was completely lost in middle of forest. Very late development cause me extremely sensitive to pain compared to average people. So same time, I wish I can feel pain earlier so I can develop tolerance at least. I am super freaked over very tiny pain as needles for FLU. I did ran away from home on same day that I has appointment with doctor. Mom chased me and pretty quickly to catch up to me so I ended climbing tall tree. My mom had to call firefighters to get me down. They had lots of trouble to get me off tree as I was desperately hold tree for my life. Edited: I can get myself down however I just thought it will better if I can stay on tree to avoid needles. And doctor had to visit next day in home without let me know to get vaccinated. It is so hurt. If I knew that happening, I definitely snuck out night.
