    6:41 "Let me get out my recipe card, cause my mind is like a disposal..."
    I relate to that feeling!

    Compared to today's TV cooking shows, it is so refreshing to see her spill a bit of this or that, and make such funny comments and use her fake Boston accent. In the beginning she mentions that in the past, people ate high calorie dishes because they needed energy. They were spending their days active, not staring at an electronic screen sitting on their butts.

    Wonderful episode! How I love Julia! I married into a Maine family. My dear Mother-in-law taught me to make chowdah. It is a wonderful dish!

    Julia was 65 here and had a face lift before filming this series, and lost a bit of weight too, since she said, “nobody wants to see a fat Julia Child”. She looks like she hadn’t aged since the 1960s so the effort was worth it! Loved this show (I have both books, JC & Co and JC & More Co.)so thank you for posting these. I wish someone would post “Dinner at Julia’s”, which I watched while attending the California Culinary Academy in 1983.

    Love, love, love these classic Julia ! It's sooo bogus that all they ever show are those 'response' hack series or the Baking series....I can recall watching these episodes waaay back. Thanks so much for sharing this and thanx to Julia, so sorely missed, but never forgotten. ♡♡♡♡

    Wanted to see this as I’m thoroughly enjoying HBOs ‘Julia’ bio series.

    " You can even take out the eyes, but they give great flavor so I always leave them in." I'm sorry-but she lost me there! HA! Butcher, please...

    Love Indian pudding. Got it at restaurants whenever they offered.

    Where can I get a green spoon for the Indian Pudding recipe? Julia said it was part of the recipe, so that's gospel to me!

    I made Indian Pudding last Thanksgiving. Quite a different recipe, from Townsends' channel. It was baked in a mould and had more of a cake like texture.

    I don’t want to sound dumb or ignorant but was this show broadcasted nation-wide or only in Boston?

    • @JsClassicTV
      @JsClassicTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's my understanding that the Julia Child shows were PRODUCED in Boston and aired NATIONWIDE
      I have some 1983 episodes of "Dinner at Julia's" from KQED San Francisco.
      Julia Child and Company rerun on the Food Network in the late 1990s, there are a few off air copies of those reruns on TH-cam.
