Does Indian Judiciary have an image?
It does have an image problem because of the corruption in it's mainline.

Nariman belongs to the old school of thought that's why he is making such statements.

I fail to understand the title of the video. How has justice Katju damaged the reputation when other judges are corrupt. Can someone explain ?

These so called intellectuals should stop bothering about the "Image" of Judiciary and start bothering about "Justice". The fuckin "Image" will take care of itself. I'm surprised that people of such mediocre Integrity and such want of clarity in thinking are revered as legal eagle's of this country!

At this juncture when age is aging all these eminent luminaries should be an example not evolve in any publicity especially speaking against one other.

None of the CJIs mentioned here have managed to achieve anything substantial, have left no legacy at all

I had great regard for a stalwart like Fali Nariman but feel very disappointed by this interview. His great regret is Katju brought the incident to light but not by lahoti and the consecutive chief justices who kept giving extensions to the corrupt judge. For them he only has to say you should ask them. He evidently belongs to the old school which is against transperancy and believes in some haloed dignity of courts sweeping all the indiscripencies under the rug. Such attitude is ultimately harmful to a democracy in the long run.

It doesn't come across as fair & reasonable of judges grumpy and complaining about not receiving elevation. Or, at least the method to seek elevation.
There are so many matters in the queue waiting to be heard.
Instead of seeking elevation within the current capacity of the system, why don't judges seek to multiply the number of court and then bid for elevation.
I am not against the idea or desire of judges to see themselves elevated.
All I am suggesting is that it needs to be realised within the effort of expediting access to justice.

I was listening to a previous interview with Narimansaab regarding his concerns about Hinduism being the only option for India. I don't really blame him for his views considering the evident. Consciousness and awareness are two completely different aspects of contemporary life..

Judiciary is a part of Indian system, where inefficiency and corruption is a way of life. Judiciary is as much responsible for corruption as our politicians and babus- may be it is because of same mental attitute as rest of government offices.

I think katju has not damaged the image of judiciary but I would rather say he has shown the real image of judiciary acting as puppet of the ruling party.
