    just a quick comment on the video. which is great.
    for the A/C trim panels, if you pop the bottom portion out first, you can lift and the panel comes off easier. just something for the future.

      Do they sell an adapter for the yellow connector to use on aftermarket radios?

    It IS a 2013, I have one. BUT, the car was completely redesigned for the 2013 model year. 2011 and 2012 are different. So title does need to be changed.

      Yes, in fact, my daughter’s 2017 Elantra GT has the same interior for stereo and a/c. It gets a new stereo tomorrow. That’s why I’m checking out related videos.

    Hi,
    Many thanks for this helpful video.
    I am trying to figure out a way to connect an AUX adapter to the CD changer socket in the back of my Elantra GT 2012 original stereo.
    Do you happen to know if I need to remove the stereo completely like you did in the video, or there is a faster way to reach the back?
    do you know if the Cd changer socket is 8 Pin or 13 Pin?
    Thanks,
    Tal

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be longer but much easier to pull the stereo out. I'm not sure of the pin configuration but a company called I simple or pac audio makes interfaces for factory stereo so you can add a Aux input. They plug into where the cd changer port would go.

    This is very helpful. Thanks!
    By chance, does anyone know how the Soundstream S-85ELTR head unit ties into the Elantra? It's marketed as an 'OEM Upgrade System' but is only like 2-3" deep even though it's marketed as supporting CD playback.
    On the Hyundai Forums a user said that this was "it's just a front fashia that connects to the head unit". Does that mean you have to open up the original head unit?

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I looked at it, and it reminds me of the new Ford systems where it is just the front facia . The cd player mechanism is still attached to the vehicle and the stereo face plate connects to the cd player mech by either a cord or it plugs strait in. If you checkout my video on how to remove factory stereo Mustang 2012 to 2014 you can see it when I remove that stereo. The install should be easy though if you only have to exchange faceplate

    Hi, my speakers don’t produce any sound in my Electra. Do you know what could be? I already tried to set up the radio but nothing has changed

    • @sethcurtis980
      @sethcurtis980 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to do a hard reset, I believe you disconnect the positive terminal on your battery and wait 15 minutes. Put it back on and it should work. Google hard reset for Hyundai Elantra to confirm. 🤘🏻

    My friend has an 2016 Elantra ft base. The same stereo you just pulled out. Can I put a navigation system from a different year and add a backup camera? Did not know if there were wires already there like my Honda.

    • @michaelmena4411

      It's a plastic panel removal tool, snap on makes the one I have in the video and it is amazing.. Bojo also makes a set which has is good but not as good as snap on version.

      yep you can tell where the A/C ducts are placed at. I had a 2013 & a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and the A/C ducts are not on the plastic panel.

      mines a 2013 model exactly like in this video

    • @danieltaylor9021
      @danieltaylor9021 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Cowan the push button start gives the reason why your Elantra may look like this one or your model is different than mine. Where the push button is placed is where my a/c duct is because i have a key to start my car.
