Edit: since this is still pulling in some views but part 1 is lagging behind, be sure that check that one out here: th-cam.com/video/kFxT_fgeZtU/w-d-xo.html :) Apologies for the day’s delay on this one! This was my 5th attempt to reupload cuz the BBC kept blocking it… how fun… but it’s here! Still processing HD as of me writing this, but anyways hope yall enjoy! And thank you! :D
Hey, someone who seems to like Church on Ruby Road (almost) as much as I do! I had an absolute blast watching it and was disappointed not to see others share that. 15 and Ruby grew on me lightning fast where other doctors and companions tended to take at least a few episodes. Though it is my first new doctor since getting into Doctor Who (not counting 14), so that might be biasing me.
Oh yeah, I loved Church! Nothing mind blowing like I said but so much about it just worked for me that I really can’t fault it and Ncuti and Millie are already on fire in it! Also wow, your first new era? Damn, I remember that feeling, welcome to the club! Hope the new era ends up being a lot of fun for you! :D
thank you for including my opinions on the specials! (i was binary binary nonbinary lol). love this video, very well thought out reviews. also personal thoughts on the upcoming season: i know that a bunch of people feel miffed about rtd not moving on from the deus ex machina resolutions to his plots but honestly the fact that we're getting that stellar character writing again is such a hit for me since the characters have and will always be the thing i watch the show for. veryyyy stoked to see where the timeless child stuff goes - at least in an emotional sense, i don't care much for the sci-fi lore but that dig into the emotional resonance that we see a bit of in TCoRR is great stuff already. again, very well made video, and thanks for the shoutout!
Lol that's a fair point about Blink, there have been lots more episodes since then with very good atmosphere and fear factor. I think I chose that comparison because I find the not-things scary in a similar way to the weeping angels, although I think Heaven Sent would have been a better comparison to WBY
It’s the same as that one tweet I saw in 2018 after Rosa came out. One person said it was the best episode in 10 years, which in my opinion is complete bollocks.
I personally think a concept that would’ve worked better throughout all three of the specials would be if Donna and Rose held onto the meta crisis. Because if they held onto it until the last episode of the special that could’ve been the solution to saving Donna and Rose them somehow giving the energy to the doctor unintentionally thereby curing them and overloading the doctor with extra regeneration energy, causing the bigeneration making potentially more sense. Other then that I think doctor who is doing well
Tbh I can’t even argue against that, I think the general concepts of WBY and The Giggle, regardless of how well they did or didn’t work in execution, would feel a lil less dangerous and high-stakes if we basically had two or even three time lords rather than just the one, but can’t argue that from a character standpoint it’d be interesting! Only thing then is that you’d have to justify them keeping the metacrisis. I know TSB established that it’s not gonna kill Donna due to it being split between her and Rose, but the doctor still wanted to get rid of it implying that it’s still at least dangerous.
@@GeorgeIsLost good point I guess the only thing I could come up with would be that he can’t erase Donna’s memories again and for WBY I think it would have mostly played out the same way but with some different dialogue. Tho I fully agree that haven’t the equivalent of three doctors in the giggle would change a lot maybe you could say that Rose and Donna only had some knowledge of the doctor because of how long he has lived making it harder for them to remember the toy maker causing them to play a bit of catch-up and realizing that even the doctor has trouble against him. That’s my best idea of how to fix that but there are still some holes.
My biggest advice is to spend slightly more time clarifying terms for people who do not already know them, I did not know where in the doctor who timeline “rtd2” fits and I can assume it means return of the doctor 2 but if you had said that full phrase out loud in the first 10 seconds I’d have watched your video and I you didn’t and I’m not, it’s important to make your videos appealing to people who do not know anything
Maybe that’s on me but basically RTD2 is what the fandom at large have dubbed the new current era of the show we’re in - standing for Russell T Davies 2, since he already had his first era in the 2000s. Again maybe that’s on me for not thinking about that but I would’ve thought it’s pretty obvious

For that one I’d be curious to know what that former best episode 10 years before Rosa was
@@GeorgeIsLost It be something from series 4
Appreciate the nod, fun video!
oh shit a George upload!

Yes I did spend more time commenting than watching your video I have my priorities right good luck
