wow i can’t believe you got a poster for every single movie you saw and switched them out on the wall behind you between takes that must have taken so much work
i am scared to even commit to going to a film festival because i could not keep up with all the screenings. good job for being dedicated to the craft lol. i had not heard anything about the banshees of inisherin before this and it is now on my list!
For the big ones, the trick is to plan your screenings ahead of time. Don’t have your heart set on too many of the big ticket items (because those will be the most in demand and therefore the hardest to get to). It’s probably good to just pick 1 or 2 big ones and try to go to those and stick to the more under the radar stuff. Take the venues, the maximum capacity of them and the time it takes to hop between them into account when planning the schedule and put in meal breaks where you’re not looking at a screen for a little bit. Smaller local festivals are a lot easier to network and make friends because they’ll likely be in a single movie theater and they’ll just play them back to back.
I'm really glad to hear you liked Bros. I thought it had a lot of potential based on the trailer but that it could really easily fall into 'grating' instead of 'funny'
Glad to hear Decision To Leave was your favourite, cause I got tickets to see it at LFF next month while all the Glass Onion tickets got sold out haha. I'm with you Martin McDonagh's films not connecting from In Bruges to Three Billboards, but I love the acting duo, so gonna see that too at LFF.
Excited for Banshees of Inisherin as Martin McDonagh makes some of my absolute favorite movies - although I get why you may not connect with the previous ones as much.
My parents were at Tiff the other day and saw Finn Wolfhart too. I saw the Fabelmans there the other day though. Definitely one of my favourite movies.
Was hoping to bump into you but I was walking up the balcony stairs while you were having your meet cute with Finn wolfhard haha so happy Toronto treated you well!
You should watch the 2022 rom-com starring Jenny Slate directed by the guy who made Big Time Adolescence, just watch the first 10 minutes they’re perfect! I also haven’t liked any rom-coms lately but that movie is great
I saw you the first day of the festival but was too shy to say hi! Lol My favorite film definitely was Broker and also bc I got to be in the premium screening with Hirokazu and Kang-ho. I was sooo happy. I also got to ask a silly question lol. Almost every screening i went to was premium so i got to listen to the directors and or cast talk about yhe film ahh it was a great experience. (i went as a tiff volunteer)
Out of all the movies in TIFF, I'm most excited to see The Whale... but for different reasons than everyone else (I'm seeing it because of Sadie). I know it was actually pretty divisive because of Darren Aronovsky. Almost everyone hates him now because of Mother! Maybe it could been better received if it was directed by someone else. But I can't wait to see Brendan Fraser and Sadie Sink get Oscar nominations! Maybe win but idk.
I would have loved to see you review The People's Joker! Ember Knight is in it and she's the mastermind behind the genius web series Ember's Etiquette on Adult Swim and it's sequel series, The Ember Knight Show
nope, in his ST4 review, he said he likes finn and think hes an interesting actor, but that he has outgrown the show and didnt sell the terribly written monologue
@@Retsea he never said that lol he said he likes finn and think hes an interesting actor but he's outgrown the show and didnt deliver on the horribly cliched and written monologue. rewatch his S4 reviews
what movie are you most looking forward to?
Decision to Leave and Glass Onion.
Can't wait to see The Whale. The man is back!

The Whale and Decision to leave.
I can’t believe you got to meet Film Wolfhard! He’s my favorite film!
Dewey Cox is hilarious
Where did you buy your likes from?
Lol. I met him twice. He was no doubt there to support Sadie Sink
Finn wolfhard is not a film. He’s a person.

1:43 definitely the first time I’ve heard a film’s tone described as “watery”. We love a fresh description.

Is really that good? I love the handmaiden and old boy

Wow, it was really an experience watching this video unfold!
'The Whale' didnt actually have its world premiere at the TIFF, but a few days prior to that at Venice :)
See the thumbnail "oh cool he met Finn Wolfhard" watched the video "wait Finn Wolfhard watches him!"

Holy shit, so many films to look forward to… for another six months or something. Thank you Karsten! :)
I just moved and now have an oppourtunity to see a lot of these at the Atlantic International Film Festival next week and am now very excited to do so
is that in A T L A N T A
Nah it’s in Atlantic Canada
This made me so excited to see so many new movies!
If I saw that many movies in that amount of time, they would definitely blend together. I have some new things on my watch list though!

decision to leave is movie of the year for me. Perhaps one of the best I've seen in recent years
Was hoping to bump into you but I was walking up the balcony stairs while you were having your meet cute with Finn wolfhard haha so happy Toronto treated you well!
It's the Banshees of "in - ish - ear - in", say it as one word and that's it. Hyped to see an Irish film getting that attention tbh, love McDonagh.
Wow karsten your hair looks good in this one
just came back from the store, saw the thumbnail, realized I forgot to buy eggs..
yess!! decision to leave!!! you should seriously check out the whole vengeance trilogy - lady vengeance is still my absolute all time fav
