what movie are you most looking forward to?
Decision to Leave and Glass Onion.
Can't wait to see The Whale. The man is back!
From tiff: Decision to leave
In general: tár
Glass onion
The Whale and Decision to leave.
I can’t believe you got to meet Film Wolfhard! He’s my favorite film!
Dewey Cox is hilarious
Where did you buy your likes from?
Lol. I met him twice. He was no doubt there to support Sadie Sink
Finn wolfhard is not a film. He’s a person.
@@whyamihere54972 wrong
wow i can’t believe you got a poster for every single movie you saw and switched them out on the wall behind you between takes that must have taken so much work
not really, just green screen
edit: i thought she meant that karsten did all of it in editing, but she was talking about him doing it in real life
@@noahpoobbailey 💀💀
@@noahpoobbailey no need for green screen in this case

Finn wolfhard is an amazing animal, truly the greatest wolf, glad you were able to meet him.
You might even say he's hard.
Wolfhard with a Vengeance
@@mr.lannoitus555 a hard wolf
You didn't get to meet Finn Wolfhard.. Finn Wolfhard got to meet you.
Your head is so round in that thumbnail, come on man
dog i can't help these things
@@KarstenRunquist i feel ya..
Wow, I realized how many films A24 is working on that came out of tiff
Wdy? It just 2 movies
@@eitanr1983 Lot more: Pearl, The Whale, The Eternal Daughter and The Inspection
They are just distributors
@@cinemasprite and Causeaway
@@boppob1343 they also produced the eternal daughter and the inspection
1:43 definitely the first time I’ve heard a film’s tone described as “watery”. We love a fresh description.
i am scared to even commit to going to a film festival because i could not keep up with all the screenings. good job for being dedicated to the craft lol. i had not heard anything about the banshees of inisherin before this and it is now on my list!
For the big ones, the trick is to plan your screenings ahead of time. Don’t have your heart set on too many of the big ticket items (because those will be the most in demand and therefore the hardest to get to). It’s probably good to just pick 1 or 2 big ones and try to go to those and stick to the more under the radar stuff. Take the venues, the maximum capacity of them and the time it takes to hop between them into account when planning the schedule and put in meal breaks where you’re not looking at a screen for a little bit. Smaller local festivals are a lot easier to network and make friends because they’ll likely be in a single movie theater and they’ll just play them back to back.
Karsten supporting the Brenaissance is good news
Oh that’s sweet, Finn was there for his costar Sadie! And yes Finn is an internet boi, of course he knows who you are haha
See the thumbnail "oh cool he met Finn Wolfhard" watched the video "wait Finn Wolfhard watches him!"
Thanks for taking a photo with me at TIFF I’m your biggest fan!
He won’t notice you

Decision to Leave was my favorite film at Cannes! Can't wait to see how people will respond to it!
Is really that good? I love the handmaiden and old boy
@@davidmckesey7119 For me it's the director's best film yet
Awkward because don't you always say Finn Wolfhard isn't that great of an actor?
shhhhhhh
thought that's what he said about Noah Schnapp no?
he’s right though lol Finn is way over exaggerating with his eyebrows
nope, in his ST4 review, he said he likes finn and think hes an interesting actor, but that he has outgrown the show and didnt sell the terribly written monologue
@@Retseadog he never said that lol he said he likes finn and think hes an interesting actor but he's outgrown the show and didnt deliver on the horribly cliched and written monologue. rewatch his S4 reviews
Just about to start the video, but knowing you saw The Fablemans cuz of Letterboxd, I was thinking a Spielberg Ranking might be interesting...
Long overdue
'The Whale' didnt actually have its world premiere at the TIFF, but a few days prior to that at Venice :)
Wow, it was really an experience watching this video unfold!
I'm really glad to hear you liked Bros. I thought it had a lot of potential based on the trailer but that it could really easily fall into 'grating' instead of 'funny'
i stiil would've watched this if it was 30min long, i'm just saying. great video as always
just came back from the store, saw the thumbnail, realized I forgot to buy eggs..
from the tiff lineup, it seems like this year is one of the best in 5 years?
Low key just trying to figure out all the places you ate and drank, Toronto resident here
He ate films
Glad to hear Decision To Leave was your favourite, cause I got tickets to see it at LFF next month while all the Glass Onion tickets got sold out haha. I'm with you Martin McDonagh's films not connecting from In Bruges to Three Billboards, but I love the acting duo, so gonna see that too at LFF.
Great video, as usual!
Out of all the movies in TIFF, I'm most excited to see The Whale... but for different reasons than everyone else (I'm seeing it because of Sadie). I know it was actually pretty divisive because of Darren Aronovsky. Almost everyone hates him now because of Mother! Maybe it could been better received if it was directed by someone else. But I can't wait to see Brendan Fraser and Sadie Sink get Oscar nominations! Maybe win but idk.
Pearl was my top film i saw a TIFF! the people around you will bring the vibe... my screening was great!
hi finn wolfhard i just know you're going through the comments section to see what people are talking about you
I would have loved to see you review The People's Joker! Ember Knight is in it and she's the mastermind behind the genius web series Ember's Etiquette on Adult Swim and it's sequel series, The Ember Knight Show
I saw you the first day of the festival but was too shy to say hi! Lol
My favorite film definitely was Broker and also bc I got to be in the premium screening with Hirokazu and Kang-ho. I was sooo happy. I also got to ask a silly question lol. Almost every screening i went to was premium so i got to listen to the directors and or cast talk about yhe film ahh it was a great experience.
(i went as a tiff volunteer)
I love the monkey in the back, cute companion
If I saw that many movies in that amount of time, they would definitely blend together. I have some new things on my watch list though!
Love you dude…now where the Saul video
It was good to meet you there my guy
Holy shit, so many films to look forward to… for another six months or something. Thank you Karsten! :)
I haven’t seen all your videos, but did you ever see the film Kid Detective?
Based on Letterboxd, we Saw Susie Searches at the same time which is pretty neat!
You should watch the 2022 rom-com starring Jenny Slate directed by the guy who made Big Time Adolescence, just watch the first 10 minutes they’re perfect! I also haven’t liked any rom-coms lately but that movie is great
Please, please, PLEASE watch Bergman Island by Mia Hansen-Love
Was hoping to bump into you but I was walking up the balcony stairs while you were having your meet cute with Finn wolfhard haha so happy Toronto treated you well!
Really enjoy your content man. Keep up the good work
I just moved and now have an oppourtunity to see a lot of these at the Atlantic International Film Festival next week and am now very excited to do so
is that in A T L A N T A
Nah it’s in Atlantic Canada
Extra pumped for weird.
This made me so excited to see so many new movies!
Excited for Banshees of Inisherin as Martin McDonagh makes some of my absolute favorite movies - although I get why you may not connect with the previous ones as much.
Oh my gosh I HATED the Fabelman’s lol it felt like a Tommy Wiseau movie with Spielberg’s DP, no one acted like a human, the subplots came and went with no rhyme or reason, none of the characters had any depth, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills lmao and I loved West Side Story! This is easily the worst film of the year for me, worse than live action Pinocchio or Firestarter, the only good thing about it was David Lynch
This is a good Katrsten Runquist video
Bros is actually a very good movie thanks for the recommendation
Very Excited For This One
Talk about a he upcoming Wes Anderson (Henry sugar and Asteroid city) love your vids
Wow karsten your hair looks good in this one
That orangutan looks so peaceful with you. 🦧
yess!! decision to leave!!! you should seriously check out the whole vengeance trilogy - lady vengeance is still my absolute all time fav
Can't believe the biggest film festival is only an hour away from where I live,
When you say encapsulating, do you mean engrossing? I’ve noticed this in a few videos and it 1000% doesn’t matter but I’m an English major and can’t help it. Encapsulating means to concisely summarize
I thought it was gonna be another photoshop but man casually drops the coolest story
Wow, Karsten and Glaive!
I’m one of few people that will understand this reference :)
I LOVE GLAIVE
So exciting and glad you had a blast Karsten! Love these videos
definitely check out Bergman Island, very excited for Mia Hansen Love's new one.
I am excited for knives out 2 weird al and the stephen speilberg one
Wait, the director of twilight made a movie with a bad screenplay? How?
manifesting that i'd get to experience this one day
Seven Psychopaths Is Martin's best film, so if the Banshees is his best one, I'm excited.
Why is that guy's eye brow named "Finn Wolfhard"
michelle williams in the steven spielberg biopic…. trying so hard not to make a dawsons creek joke
this was the fastest 17 minute video i’ve ever watched
karsten ily but pearl fucking slaps.
My parents were at Tiff the other day and saw Finn Wolfhart too. I saw the Fabelmans there the other day though. Definitely one of my favourite movies.
Honestly I don't find it surprising that Finn wolfhard watches, he is a Jake and amir superfan which kinda implies he watches a lot of TH-cam
could not stop staring at the mönke in the background sorry
I think I would pay one million dollars to see the Aristotle and Dante movie rn (I have $4 in my bank account)
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see the weatherman in the fablemans
Hello, Finn. (If you read comments)
It's the Banshees of "in - ish - ear - in", say it as one word and that's it. Hyped to see an Irish film getting that attention tbh, love McDonagh.
Women talking is my most excited film of the year. I love Sarah Polly since take this waltz. Why about the fableman? That movie is amazing
I like your monkey
Love the video's!
Rank Spielberg now that fable mans exist
Please
Rank Spielberg
Glad to meet and interview you at TIFF, love your videos man
Bro watch RRR already and give your thoughts
decision to leave is movie of the year for me. Perhaps one of the best I've seen in recent years
You think Glass Onion is getting a theatrical release? I would think so
Very honored to have scanned your badge prior to Women Talking. And very glad you enjoyed the festival.
Can you pleease BREATH between sentences?
I had no idea a new Martin McDonagh film was coming, thanks for the heads up!
love how you and finn get along when you just railed him in the stranger things 4 videos
Would have been even funnier if he had met Noah Schnapp lol
Wheres Don't Worry Darling?
I might check out that Susie Searches movie. It looks cool.
Can you check this new commercial by TAMBURINS x JENNIE PERFUME.
I feel like it has a lot of references but I can't point them out
Awesome vid love your channel
Thanks, Movie Fantano!
You and I must have been in the same press screening for Weird Al. I had no idea people were throwing stuff outside!
I swear I'm not usually THAT guy, but McDonagh is pronounced like Mc-Dun-Ah, and Keoghan is pronounced like Ky-Own (like to own something, but with an almost Q sound first if that makes any sense). I wouldn't have bothered commenting if there was only one mistake, but the two in a row made it stand out a bit too much for my Irish brain to take.
Oh my goodness I really thought Finn Wolfhard had been photoshopped a la Timothy Chalamet in that New York video.😂
Hello Finn
Damn Karsten I wish you saw “Zwigato”. Another film which premiered at TIFF and is one of the rare types to be coming from a country like India.
5:55 The sequel will be called Women Shopping.
I’m sorry. I’ll leave now.
I just now found out that Glass Onion was Knives Out 2. I thought that movie was already out and this was the third installment...oof I'm out of touch
looking forward to watching some of these after hearing your thoughts!
shave that moustache. great critic but Jesus Christ dude you have to be kidding?
