Ramit, please tell me you review your credit-card statement before Auto Pay remits the balance! One time, I found a charge for a $900 riding lawn mower, purchased in a town I'd never visited in my life. No doubt, you're aware that criminals start by posting tiny charges on your account to see whether or not anyone squawks. If not, the charges become higher and higher amounts.
Go watch how the poor animals who's coat is literally raked barbarically from their skin. Cashmere farming is an horrendous evil cruel industry. Don't buy cashmere period!!!
Your a great help to people and I can't wait to come on myself one day. It's so cool to see that I follow alot your ways already even just beginning to see your videos
When Ramit said he'd take care of the comments, I felt immense satisfaction that I knew Gabriel would be taken care of. Ramit is savage dealing with trolls online. This was a great couple. Acknowledged their past and have the right attitude to create a bright future for them and their family. I wish them the best
Ramit, I really loved when you took the burden off of Gabriel’s shoulders when he started to worry about the comments on his past and addiction. Honestly, that was so beautiful and made me tear up. He has a beautiful future ahead of him and they have a beautiful future together. I’m excited to see an update. ❤
Gabriel, everyone has addictions, some are just more societally acceptable. Huge kudos to you in putting your pride to the side to do what's best for your family (both in kicking your addiction and even just being candid on the podcast). Also amazing job all around to Anna for holding the family together and hopefully she can catch a break and get to breathe soon.
Just 8 minutes into this episode and I have nothing but empathy and respect for this couple. People do judge online, but Gabriel 2.0 has his act together and I'm rooting for you and your family!
Gabriel, I trust a man who faces his demons and walks through the other side a lot more than someone who claims to have never made mistakes. Hold your head up high, you and your lovely wife are on the right path.
I'm half way through the video while posting this comment and don't really care that I haven't finished it yet. Gabriel is an example of how I would love to live life: Strong, honest, rational and willing to write his wrongs and focus on his future all while taking his family into consideration. Well done Gabriel.
I literally came half way through as well to leave say this. I can’t imagine anyone leaving negative comments to this super genuine and sweet couple. I’m so happy for you, Gabriel! Your sincere effort and coachability in this episode have truly inspired me. ❤
Wow, truly one of the best couples! I was used to couples not talking, getting stuck on minor details, having to unpack their traumas, triggers (don't get me wrong, I still learn a lot from those episodes) but seeing two young people ready and truly needing just financial support made my day! They showed how it can be straightforward, easy to communicate, etc. They've done the hard work now they just need support getting to the next level. Such a difference from the last two couples, ty Ramit for having them on the show!
Gabriel, good on you for coming on this show and showing you are vulnerable. Don’t be ashamed of the addiction issues. You got this! Anna, great job with standing by him and being a great team.
Anna You are an amazing wife. You stood by your husband during his worst trying time. I'm sure he loves you even more now. Gabriel You're a fighter. The fact that you have turned your life around & are now devoted to your family, Anna & the kids will respect & love you. Anna, Gabriel God bless Your family. Tons of blessings from India
Gabriel, i don’t know if you’ll see this but proud of you for overcoming your addiction. I can’t imagine the battle you faced. Anna, you faced this battle just as well. Proud of you for everything you overcame as a young mother. You, gabriel, and your children should all be proud of you.
I don't usually comment, but it is encouraging to see someone own their past, receive advice, and think about their family selflessly. I hope things continue to move forward positively for them!
This is hands down one of my favorite episodes! Gabriel you have nothing to be ashamed of, if anything you are brave! We all suffer with addictions rather its over spending, drinking too much, its all a drug at the end of the day. His wife deserves kudos as well showing what it means to support someone you love through the ups, down and even the ugly. Thank you both for sharing your story because it is so relatable!! I wish you both much success on your journey to living your rich life!!
14 mins into this video, and already want to commend Gabriel 2.0 for his bravery! My heart goes out to this amazing couple. Look how far God has brought you both! The sky is the limit. Stay strong, and keep going. You both are an inspiration to so many!
This is the most calm couple on this podcast so far. They have so much love for eachother and there is so much teamwork. Rooting for both you Anna and Gabriel
Anna is an incredible woman, such a manifestation of feminine grace and strength. I hope she gets the appreciation and reciprocity she deserves. All the best to this couple
Anna is serving as: Chief Financial Officer Operations Manager Executive Secretary Housekeeper Cook Laundress Nanny Nurse Anna needs to dump Gabriel - he adds no value.
When I moved to Portland OR in 2008, just for fun I tried a social experiment. At the time I had a BMW roadster convertible but I decided to park my car for a month and see what it was like to live without a car. I fully intended to try it for a month and then go back to my car because I LOVED sports cars. I lived in the heart of downtown Portland which has one of the best mass transit systems in the nation. It also has a really strong bike culture. So, I road my bicycle about 90% of the time and took the bus/Max/streetcar and figured I would used a Zipcar (a ride sharing company) once a week. The first surprise was how much I truly enjoyed riding my bike everywhere. It made me feel like a kid again in my mid-50's. The second surprise was how seldom I needed a car. Instead of once a week, I was closer to once a month. The third surprise was how after the first two weeks I never even thought of my parked car. So, after the experiment was over, I ran the numbers and realized that my car, which was parked and not in use over 95% of the time, was costing me almost $9K per year when I added in car payments, insurance, gas, maintenance, parking and even mundane things like going to the car wash every weekend. I sold my car and never looked back. It was like giving myself a HUGE raise. Now...is this for everyone? No. Of course not. But being willing to look at something as an experiment was the first step. Get creative and you will be surprised where it takes you.
I loved Gabriel's willingness to admit his missteps not only with lifestyle, but also with spending habits. I also loved Ana's gentleness and patience with him. Wishing their family well.
I also love how he didn’t take her patience for granted and leave her to clean up the mishaps completely alone. It’s fascinating seeing them beam with a sense of pride rather than resentment towards one another about moving forward. I loved seeing true genuine love ☺️
I really, really liked this couple. They totally took responsible for their own actions. Ramit, maybe one day you could do an update from this couple. It was so refreshing to see a couple not fighting and bickering and actually using their time with you proactively. Really enjoyed this video. I wish them all the best!
Only a few minutes in but I have to say the addiction stuff is so relatable! Please don’t feel embarrassed about it. So many people and couples deal with this issue. Myself included. It’s a hard road for all involved but can be overcome. So happy for Gabriel 2.0!
Man, these two are struggling with so much, but they are dedicated to each other. They are going through the ups and downs together, and learning as they go. We should all be so fortunate to have that kind of love in our lives. I wish you two the very best, and great things to come.
Gabriel is great! It’s clear he’s not comfortable speaking “in public” or about this topic to a stranger. BUT he’s doing it! Admits his mistakes and very willing to change and improve for his wife and family. Huge props! 🎉👏🏼
I’m a counselor and often have those with addictions “do the math”. The best answer I got was when a guy with a coke and alcohol addiction added up how much he spent weekly at his local bar then multiplied by 10 years. It was $110,000! He just quickly replied “damn! I could’ve bought the bar!” Another couple just went into shock when the cost of beer and cigarettes were a month. That’s not even touching legal costs and health issues! Gabriel just has to live it one day at a time - he can do it! The sense of accomplishment of saving can be their dopamine rush!
Not even 3 minutes in. I'm so stoked to watch this one! So interested in seeing a young couple already married 10 years & 3 children. How to turn their financial partnership around? So many people are in this situation; glad you took this on, Mr. Sethi.
Okay, watched the full episode, wonderful to see young couple working together instead of battling each other. Something to keep in mind, Gabe was 18 YO when this relationship started and had his 1st child 3 years later around 21 YO. Gabe has been on accelerated path by 10 years in age, which accounts why there have been some bumps in the road. What I mean is statistically American men's 1st marriage is usually 31 - 33 years old, and their wives are usually 2 - 4 years younger. Is it really surprising that Gabe purchased a fun ATV in his mid-20's when other men in his age cohort are still in their fun stage too? Glad to hear Gabe is 3 years sober, but we still need to give Gabe some slack regarding fun due to his mental-age. Not sure what Gabe does for a living, but he needs guidance to increase his income. Maybe he needs a 2nd part-time job, or certification in a skill that will bring in much higher income (like CDL license, or plumber, or electrician, etc.). Luckily they are not in that much debt & there are ways to expedite debt pay down (like selling BMW and getting less expensive car if needed). One thing concerning is it's not clear if there is life insurance on either spouse. This is critical whenever there are children involved. Mr. Sethi needs to emphasize life insurance & emergency fund in his podcasts.
This episode bringing me to tears. So happy that this couple is trusting and supporting each other! Gabriel and Anna are a real power couple and I know their love and care for each other will propel them to whatever goals they have set. Best of luck!
I was with an addict, and I went through all of that. I personally know how hard it is for the addict and the spouse. I have great compassion for both ❤
What an amazing and inspiring couple! Gabriel 2.0 and Ana should be so proud of themselves in how they work as a team, respect one another and are determined to make a good future for themselves and their family. I was so stuck by Gabriel's honesty and determination. I wish them both success and happiness!
I love this couple. So kind to each other and with such a warm smile on their faces as they share their most intimate financial details with the world. Acknowledging past mistakes is the first step to change and growth. You guys got this! And with this amazing attitude, love and respect for each other, you will go places. I hope they are reading these comments here and are feeling good about themselves.
Love this episode! Anna inspires me to be a more supportive wife. I really appreciate how they communicate with one another even though they have been through tough situations.
Hoping this is a break from the stressors of the last couple episodes Edit: It was! Really appreciate how these two communicate in a healthy way despite the differences in money goals/vision
I’ve heard the podcast, but came here on the video to leave my comment. What a loving couple! Ana, you are such a brave woman for facing it all and taking care of the family. Gabriel, it is beautiful to see how you are reinveinting yourself and getting your 2.0 version sharp!!! Life is beautiful, and love is here to make the rough situations easier.
Anna is incredibly strong and Gabriel is incredibly brave. I'm sure they've gone through some s$it together, but this is how you evolve together - compassion and understanding. Shout out to Ramit for being so kind to this couple, but tbh, you can't hate on these two. Really rooting for them to be debt free in less than two years With an emergency fund and retirement accounts.
Prime example of why you don’t SPOIL your kids. The best gift you could give your kids is love and support but not giving in to every whim and desire they have. Most important values are - self-respect and responsibility. One of the most important lessons you can teach your children is hard work and goal setting. I struggle with it too as a mom because you want your kids to have the best. I’ve learned over the years that teaching them to work hard and save is so important.
I loved how the issue of impulsivity was addressed, I have suffered terribly from impulsivity all of my life and I never thought that I could talk to someone about it because I was so ashamed of this behavior. This has given me such hope.
Google "ADHD self screening tool" It's the 1st result on Google. And if you screen high.. get assessed.. I'm saying this as someone who has gone undiagnosed till 36 and my husband till 45..
Love the vulnerability here. This isn’t the easiest to share publicly. They have tremendous opportunity to change their trajectory. They seem like such a beautiful and cooperative couple. Wishing them much success on their journey!
Gabriel, no shame in your past! What you’ve done will likely be the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do! Kudos to you. Maybe by coming on this show you’ll inspire others to get clean as well. Your story is not shameful, it’s inspiring .
Favorite couple/ episode in a while. Regular people who need help. I wish them all the best with their family and financial future. Congrats on 3 years sober!!!!!
Gabriel and Anna, it’s my first time commenting on this show because you two are so inspiring! Ana you are so amazing in showing grace to your husband’s faults. Gabriel 2.0 I will be praying for you as you face your demons everyday and Ramit my man! You are a certified badass! I love you show and you have definitely change me and my husband’s life from fighting to tears about money, to having weekly meetings on how to get out of our debt (per his request so he can continue to know what is happening with our money!). Please don’t stop being relentless with helping people! It is your gift!
Lovely couple…Anna is one strong woman. Gabriel must have strength to over come addiction for 3 years. They would do best to move and live as an independent family. It would be awesome to have Gabriel’s parents on! I wish this family all the best.💜
I absolutely LOVE this couple!! Gabriel and Anna were so real, authentic, sweet and fully open and ready for change. Proud of you both! Best wishes and God Bless!!
I really enjoy watching people create a budget and realize their financial position isn't as catastrophic as they believe. Financial discipline by budgeting every dollar and getting out of debt as soon as possible. Applaud them for figuring this out and getting on the path to financial freedom. I do love the quote of "When is the best time to plant a tree? 20years ago. When is the second best time to plant a tree? TODAY!"
I sense yet another case of a woman who is frustrated with the man's lack of responsibility and initiative. It's a reminder that women are fully capable of handling things on their own. Love it! Please more couples!
Anna is a beautiful soul! I love her right off the bat. She and her husband are indeed a team. She must have approached his addiction with love and support.
I listened to this podcast and had to come over here to comment. Thank you both for being vulnerable and sharing your story and allowing us to walk through with you in this conversation. We’re in a very similar situation early 30s with 3 kids no savings and just making it by. Listening to your conversation gave me hope. Thank you so very much. I really hope the best for you both.
❤ hearts for Gabriel it takes a lot to put your financial business out there to the world it takes even more to share a story of addiction. I wish you and your beautiful family every happiness going forward. It was so beautiful to see what I saw as you repaying your beautiful wife for her loyalty and support by taking accountability for your actions and being present and motivated to work with her on this. Truly one of the only episodes I’ve watched where it very much felt like a team mentality from the beginning. Wishing you success in all areas ❤
7 mins into the video and I'm teary-eyed. The first step to any change is acknowledgment. This couple will be great ! YES, his attitude is exceptional, next to none and rare ! All the best
Of course Gabriel is very insightful and taking initiative to change the situation, nobody is talking about Ana how supportive and understanding she is about her husband and want to make everything right ❤
Fantastic episode, and a couple of my favorite guests. So much opportunity here and I just see good things coming both of your way! Addiction is a lifelong battle. Seeing all the comments on here, it’s safe to say you have a lot of people in your corner, Gabriel! So proud of you.
Well done Gabriel and Ana! This is a great example of being accountable and committed to making the changes needed for the family to thrive and grow. This is exemplary behavior of becoming an adult. Keep at it, it's a journey and God willing the road will be long. 🙌
they seem like a nice couple! It's great that they are on this so that their kids don't make the same mistakes and learn to break the bad cycle. Anna is honestly so patience and sweet and I feel many women in her situation would have walked away from Gabriel's addictions. But its great that Gabriel is ackowledging his situation/mistakes for the sake of his wife and children! Taking personal resonsiblity is hard to do and its great that they are working it on!! Wishing them the best!
This is by far the best episode yet. What an impressive couple to overcome their past and want to better themselves. I’d really love to see more realistic stories like this one, super inspiring to hear of those making $400k a year but it’s getting a bit not relatable to us “normal” folk 😆
To the point of kids. I babysat children for several years and have my own now. And all they really care about is spending time with them. I still have kids I used to spend time with telling me stories about times we spend together that did not involve any money. Going to park and just having fun that way. :)
What an amazing episode- Ana and Gabriel-thank you so much for sharing your story! Just discovered your channel Ramit and absolutely love spending my time watching, listening, learning. Grateful for you and your journey with us!
Currently advising / non-advising (because I am not a financial advisor!) my friend who has come out of addiction. I'm helping her put her finances back together, over the past year, and still ongoing. This vid was good insight for me, while I'm helping her. It's emotional for you, and I hope no one is here to make fun of you as a couple. That's not fair, because you are making changes. Stay close to your sponsor, and your family. You're doing good man!
big shout out to his parents for stepping up. I don't know what having good parents is like, but its good to see someone get a second chance with a good family. good reminder how important family is.
Becoming and staying sober is an INCREDIBLE accomplishment, it’s something that a lot of people in addiction never achieve. Your addiction is just part of your past now and those experiences are what is making you the man and father you are. Please be proud of yourself and of your amazing partner who has weathered the storms with you. You guys are one of the most likable couples I’ve seen on here! Thanks for sharing your personal story and financial history!
44:19 wow - powerful! That’s true growth mindset Gabriel just modeled for all of us. Really inspiring as he acknowledges the feelings coming up, acknowledging Brett wow equally committed and hopeful in making healthier choices with money. Very inspiring!
Real People. Real Problems. Real Solutions. I love this podcast! Thank you Ramit and to all the guest that share! So bold. So Brave. And again.... So Real.
Wow what a refreshing couple to hear from, I love the attitude: teamwork, supporting each other but also being real, and finally seeking help! Wishing you and your family the best!
I love this couple. They are so supportive off each other. Gabriel - we are all rooting for you. Proud of you for talking about your addiction and growing from it.
It’s so rare to watch an episode where it’s so clear the couple are going to make it work. You two are a team, solid, and it’s time to attack life with eachother at your side.
I have nothing but respect for Gabriel! It takes a lot of courage to go through rehab and then to start taking accountability for finances. That's clearly a man who cares deeply about his family and is making his very best effort to grow and move forward. Also, major respect to Ana for stepping up when Gabriel needed help. That is a strong couple! I really liked this family and wish them all the best!!!
I think this was a very realistic podcast since so many in the U.S. deal with addiction and not even with regards to narcotics or alcohol. For some addictions, it can be the trauma we have as children and how we learn to cope as well as our genetic makeup. I hope that this couple will continue the hard work of progressing financially and with regards to health. Likewise, maybe the grandparents will learn something from Gabriel and Ana. Generationally, I think it is hard to not feel guilty (i.e. hearing spoiled child) and shameful (we are stilling receiving help) for all the things one's parents have done for us but then also realize that maybe the way we were taught were not best practices. Gabriel stepping out and speaking your truth will have you break cycles and come full circle. Ana, you are a strong individual and being that rock for Gabriel and your children is definitely an asset. I can say from personal experience the way my immediate family handled money; I ran to learning the most about it and even received a degree dealing with money. I vowed never to handle money in the same way. The point is you never know how life experiences are going to affect you so always give yourself grace. Ramit, I hope us viewers see an update about this couple.
Truly inspiring! I am wishing them so much success. Finances are hard but you can do it! And Kudos to Gabriel for beating his addiction. It's such a hard battle. You should be so proud ❤
Love that a couple with great challenges was featured. Thank you Gabriel and Anna for coming on the show and and thanks to Ramit for leading them to find their own answers. Most advisors tell people what they should do. When we come to our own realizations, this is when we can learn and change. Thank you and best wishes to Gabriel and Anna.

First thing I thought when I looked at her face while you explained his addictions. She really does

Phenomenal comment
I have net owned a car in over 5 years. I don’t miss the expense at all.
I kinda wish I could do that, but my area isn't the best for bikes, and read about bikers getting hit by cars way too often in my area.

Gabe stated that he works for his father who owns a landscaping business.
Ramit, thank you for also having younger people on your podcast too!
Hoping this is a break from the stressors of the last couple episodes
Edit: It was!
Google "ADHD self screening tool"
It's the 1st result on Google. And if you screen high.. get assessed..
I'm saying this as someone who has gone undiagnosed till 36 and my husband till 45..
Ana you are showing people what it means to be a supportive wife thru the hard times in life! Good job! It makes me want to be a better wife!
Hey Gabriel - proud of you for getting help. Much love brother ❤
BEST GUESTS EVER! a LOVED HOW QUICKLY THEY LEARNED AND ADJUSTED. I ALSO COULD FEEL THE GENUINE LOVE BETWEEN THEM. WAY TO FO YOUNG ONES!!
Love the vulnerability here. This isn’t the easiest to share publicly. They have tremendous opportunity to change their trajectory. They seem like such a beautiful and cooperative couple. Wishing them much success on their journey!
Wishing Gabriel 2.0 and his beautiful wife and kids all the success. This episode is really touching
TODAY!"
Thank you for sharing Gabriel! No one should have anything bad to say at all, keep going, stay strong
I sense yet another case of a woman who is frustrated with the man's lack of responsibility and initiative. It's a reminder that women are fully capable of handling things on their own. Love it! Please more couples!
This couple has such a good attitude with each other, inspiring
Gabriel 2.0 and Anna, you got this! Y’all are awesome and you got this.
Lovely couple, wishing the best for them with their financial journey
Anna is a beautiful soul! I love her right off the bat. She and her husband are indeed a team. She must have approached his addiction with love and support.
Gabriel, overcomming addiction is somthing to be proud of, its a battle and you won, happy for you and your beautiful families future.
My favorite episode yet! Their openness and willingness to adjust and learn was so motivating for me, as well. Their story is inspiring!
I want this couple to win so bad!!
Beautiful, strong couple! I really appreciate how they communicated with one another and how committed they were to working on things as a team!
What strong individuals and a powerful couple! Anna and Gabriel, we are rooting for you! You’ve got this. ❤❤
big shout out to his parents for stepping up. I don't know what having good parents is like, but its good to see someone get a second chance with a good family. good reminder how important family is.
This episode was some much needed relief after the last couple 😅
True! The Risk reduction guy?
Becoming and staying sober is an INCREDIBLE accomplishment, it’s something that a lot of people in addiction never achieve. Your addiction is just part of your past now and those experiences are what is making you the man and father you are. Please be proud of yourself and of your amazing partner who has weathered the storms with you. You guys are one of the most likable couples I’ve seen on here! Thanks for sharing your personal story and financial history!
Wow, i love these 2! Rooting for you guys!!!!
Really enjoyed this episode. I’m rooting for this couple!
44:19 wow - powerful! That’s true growth mindset Gabriel just modeled for all of us. Really inspiring as he acknowledges the feelings coming up, acknowledging Brett wow equally committed and hopeful in making healthier choices with money. Very inspiring!
You are so strong and brave! Anna and Gabriel, thank you for sharing your story
I love how these people are so honest and upfront. Thanks for sharing :)
Gabriel should give himself more credit! He’s stronger than his impulses and I’m sure Ramit will help him see that
Real People.
Great Job on your progress Gabriel! May God bless your recovery Journey. Jesus Loves you and your family!
My three favorite channels: I Will Teach You To Be Rich, StockBrotha, & How Money Works. Make my week complete! 🔥 🔥 🔥
This is my favorite episode so far. I wish them the best!
Thank you for interviewing a couple with less income
Another great episode. Keep up the good work Anna and Gabriel 2.0!
We would never make fun of you Gabriel!!! You are human, we all have our vices - your accountability is inspirational! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Truly inspiring! I am wishing them so much success. Finances are hard but you can do it! And Kudos to Gabriel for beating his addiction. It's such a hard battle. You should be so proud ❤
Gabriel and Ana I am so proud of you! You guys are a team and it shows it! I know you will be very successful in the years to come!!! Good Job!
Gabriel overcoming addiction is no small feat. Congratulations on your sobriety!
Gabriel!!! 🤗 You and your family got this!! Sending mad love!
Ramit, this one of the strongest episodes! Thank you!
Their story is very similar to our story, thank you all so much 💗👏🌞
Love that a couple with great challenges was featured. Thank you Gabriel and Anna for coming on the show and and thanks to Ramit for leading them to find their own answers. Most advisors tell people what they should do. When we come to our own realizations, this is when we can learn and change. Thank you and best wishes to Gabriel and Anna.
Hey Gabriel - Bro....props for taking the steps. I know it's one day at a time, but sounds like your foundation is much more solid. Keep it up mang!
