Yes, thank you sir! Mardu in my eyes is the funniest color combination there is, and I take that taste to the point where all my commanders are mardu or Boros/orzhov. I had an eye on licia for a while now and am glad to see a proper deck tech about it. Great work!

This is a great breakdown and how I view her too. So unique! The problem is that when you start adding up the mana, and calculating how consistently you'll have licia out by turn 3, it just doesn't compete.
This is why I've built her with a stax shell. It slows others down while you build your threatening board state.
I play Licia! "Light ritual"... good one, I have Elixir of Immortality too. Glad I stumbled upon your channel, keep up the good work!

I like it, this seems like a decent idea and honestly she seems pretty powerful. I'm personally a fan of Tariel myself, she's not much for power but she has a fun and weird ability that allows me to focus on what Mardu does better than any other color combo- spot removal. If I want something, I just kill it and activate Tariel. If someone gets it back I just kill it again. And again. And again, if necessary. Rest in Peace may screw up my fun a little bit, but white has a ton of enchantment removal and red hates artifacts like Grafdigger's Cage. She doesn't get larger or require lifegain to cheapen her cost, but her reanimator potential extends beyond my graveyard and into other players' graveyards.

I love Doran. No tribal/defender BS. I play all the 0/4 for 1's. Great one-sided board wipes. Very good utility with fat butts. Plus, Gorm the Great is great!

Phage is quite an underrated commander and is insanely fun to boot. Although the pieces that enable you to get her out are all mandatory for obvious reasons, you can do a lot of different things with her once she's on the battlefield. Vultron is common but there are a lot of cards that have cute interactions with her that make for some funny situations and politics. "whenever a player loses the game" effects are very rewarding for such little effort as well.

I have all the Return to Ravnica block charms, as well as the dual color Lorwyn block auras to support her... and Sunbond, if I'm not mistaken. I have something of a soul sisters sub-theme going on as well. Just waiting on the shock lands and sleeves, currently. Zurgo, Ankle Shanker, Brutal Hordechief, Crackling Doom, and Mardu Ascendancy waiting on standby for when the deck finally gets made.
There are two creatures I have commander decks for I've never seen anyone else play and I feel have been a bit underrated. First was Kytheon, Hero of Akros. My deck for him made for an interesting voltron build that doesn't rely on all the swords and equipment, because they're not great once you get him to flip, but also has the benefit of being harder to remove when it's not your turn. It relies heavily on anthem effects and combat triggers that even if I can't take everyone at the table out with 21 commander damage, I can still get the benefit of the subtheme of going wide with soldier tribal effects.
The second is Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun. Probably because white-blue aren't the best at generating good, large tokens to target with his ability, but since the time he was printed, more cards have come out that really support his play style very well. Helm of the Host allows you to stack multiple beginning of combat triggers, and Arcane Artisan will let you turn and other good creature in your deck into a token instead.

People really underestimate Licia. She has some serious potential, that's for sure!

I built her instead of Edgar when this deck first came out and I love it. She’s a beast. As for other underrated commanders I think Nazhan doesn’t get enough attention, especially now that helm of the host basically makes him a tutor.
Have, Guru of spores seems very underrated- so much synergy, and many combos too. Also really versatile- +1/+1, tokens, aristocrats, combo etc.
A really underrated commander is Kraj IMO. It’s one that I almost never see, and it has a lot of potential to do whatever it really wants.
Ben Hall he was one of the big bads of the format a long time ago, and I think the sentiment still lingers. He's pretty awesome though! Wanna combo or just be dumb with counters?? Go ahead!

After reading the small backstory bit at the end, where it says she led an attachment on a village leaving nothing but death; that sounds like what's in saskia's backstory! Coincidence, I think not

IMO Rhonas the Indomitable is a super underrated commander. People overlook the potential of mono green a lot and the "fight club" builds of him are just awesome.
I feel like Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas is really underrated. Play her turn 4 and then steamroll with huge creatures and beat down with an 8/8 double strike and vigilance monster.
I think Glissa, the traitor is an underrated commander. She does so much cool stuff, but I've never seen anyone but me have a deck with her

My buddy has a nasty Karona God tribal deck that's super fun. Put Helm of the Host on her and just wait for her to come back around. "Watch this, Hold my Beer" is the name of the deck. I have a Balan deck that people give me crap about because "Sram is BETTER" I BEG to differ
I don't know why but flinging her with brion makes a funny finisher for a deck like this

He can regenerate himself and becomes super big on his own.

In regards to Mardu I have to say, that I have a sweetspot for "Butcher of the Horde" but never managed to convince my friends to aggree on me using Butcher as general ^^'.

The overall problem I have with mardu is that - even with Licia and Mathas - the commander-options feel comparably lack luster in terms of their creativity compared to other color-combinations. Sultai suffered from the same issue until they printed Muldrotha (who is not underrated by any means).
Daxos of Meletis me daddy. I'm currently making him because all my edh decks usually revolve around group effects, so I didn't have an optimal build. Thinking about going auras/enchantment constellation effects with theft mixed in. Let me know what you see him as. Didn't want to make another slam all your swords on a dude and turn him sideways. Excited to see your thoughts, he is so underrated as an Azorious boi!

Samuel Oliveira almost built a mathas curses deck as it's real cheap. He looks fun to be sure

I love taking color combos that are popular and then using a general nobody else does. I'm actually working on a 5 color deck now, using Karona, False God as the commander. The deck? FIVE COLOR GOD TRIBAL
the tragedy about karona is that she isn't even a god, she's an Avatar

Proper Burial would be an interesting card with Licia. Add any haste enabler and any cheap Wrath spell, and you could wipe the board, recast Licia for cheap, make her huge and immediately kill someone. [Edit: Nvm, I just noticed that you can activate her ability only once per turn. Just when I wanted to add Brion Stoutarm to the list.]
I would also run Angelic Accord alongside her. And of course Well of Lost Dreams. And Cradle of Vitality. And... Necropotence?
Let's not forget Licia's high CMC; one could also abuse that. Vial Smasher the Fierce comes to Mind. Soldevi Adnate to generate 8 mana. Dragon Breath, Dragon Scales and Dragon Shadow also seem interesting. Or Favor of the Mighty. xD

Garna, the Bloodflame is underrated because you can play a goblin recruiter, mill yourself with a grindstone and then play Garna to put every goblin into your hand to do dumb shit with skirk prospector, frogtosser banneret, and goblin warchief.
Better yet, you can name goblins with conspiracy amd just set your deck with good creatures

This isn´t much of a color-difference, but I think the Rakdos color combination is kinda underrated. Be honest you guys, most of the time, if any, you´ll only see Rakdos, Lord of Riots himself, or Olivia Voldaren, who got pushed off her throne by good old Edgar.
Malfegor is my personal favorite but Lyzolda, the Blood Witch, and Karazov, Sengir Pureblood have some potentially awesome strategies, which most people shy away from because they don´t throw huge Eldrazi Titans onto the Battlefield on turn 3.

Yes, I had my Eyes on Tymaret as well, but it would´ve been too much like my Brion Stoutarm deck, so I decided to pick Malfefor. He is similar to Nekusar but has a bigger focus on Madness, Cycling, and hand-destruction.
Personally the M-Red Grenzo is underrated. In the shadow of his Rakdos self he never sees enough play. WHO DOESN'T LIKE PLAYING YOUR OPPONENTS ENTIRE DECK?

I love the idea of Hallar, and wanted to make a deck for him. But then I thought about how infrequently we see kicker appear as a mechanic, and was worried the deck might get stale over time :(
Edgar is also the only mardu commander that gives a fuck about vampire tribal. Licia's good but she's better outside of vampire tribal.
If people are going to constantly bitch about Edgar, just home-rule nerf him by making the extra vampire cost 1 mana or make it like an emblem where he has to be summoned first

This is actually a nice video and I have always been interested in building Licia eventually, but everytime you pronounced her name I had to stop and breathe for a second XD.
No offense whatsoever, it's just a joke, but being an Italian I felt a bit sick when you pronounced her name as "Laisia". For the future, the correct pronounciation is something along the lines of "Leech-a" XD.

she isn't underrated shes just in the spot of "why bother" like "why bother making an anowon the run sage deck when the is sheoldred whispering one... 2 mana? thats its" if you want mardu addression then yeah... edgar... if you want lifegain... if you want life gain... oloro... and i dont meant this as a "oh im competitive iv got my head up my ass" i love my kemba deck but I dont see a reason why you would deliberatly go for the more awkward approach. also i just dont think she is uqnie to be honest

Put this commander in a table against say Doomsday Zur, Teferi Stax and Yidris Storm and the Licia player is going to have a really bad time...

If you want a better chance of winning in Mardu colors, go Alesha.
Yeah, she's tier 2 but at least she has a better win rate than Licia.
Atraxa is the most used commander, yes but it doesn't mean she's that good when compared to tier 1 commanders.
Pop music is the "most listened" genre but it doesn't mean it's that good.
Why not compare Licia to Oloro? Both gain life, both have removal, both have card draw, both have enough board wipes. Difference is, you don't need to cast Oloro to win while you need to cast Licia to win.
It's good that you run a good commander like Mairsil, focus on powerful commander decks rather than really weak commanders like Licia.

Commander is also a competitive format otherwise it wouldn't be seen as a side event in PTs.
Yes, it allows janky cards to be used but so can other formats.
I'll let people run Licia but at the same time, they'll have to accept the fact that they'll have a slow start for being too slow especially when they're up against tier 1 commanders.
All decks are powerful but some decks are stronger than others.

If Commander is truly "the most casual format", why do competitive EDH tourneys exist then?
Username Unidentified being able to cheat her mana cost and buff her up makes her her own win condition. Her effect removes her own commander tax and allows her to hit the board however many times she wants similar to like derevi. Life gain in edh comes in BUNCHES which is a highly accessible resource to make her cost less and ALSO make her bigger. She’s not amazing but I can see way worse commanders than licia. She has combo potential, OTK potential, and is in some of the best control colors (minus Blue) in the entire format. You can do a lot worse than Licia.
