The plan for the time being is to catch up to my monthly movie reactions on July 30th (Rise of the Guardians) and July 31st (Wolfwalkers), before trying to be fairly consistent in August. Of course, unlike lately, I should be largely free come the end of July and into August and hopefully beyond as well. Turns out, I overestimated my availability this month, but I figured I'd post this here since it'll be the last upload until July 30th, but things should be back to normal when the next video goes up.

Fun fact: The movie was originally gonna be about Nick. The idea was that predators were forced to wear shock collars to keep them from harming anyone. Nick would open up a fake doctors office so he'd be able to take them off. Judy would catch him and that's all I know thatwas planned, the movie would most likely go off as the rest of the movie did.

Yah the main reason they scrapped it was because you were supposed to *love* the world they built, but if they went the shock collar route then you would hate the world from the start because of how cruel it was.

@@aris7051 one way to do this is to wait for a copyright claim and dispute it. And Disney being the giant company it is won’t think a small channel would dispute it and won’t check again. If a month goes by without the copyright claim holder doing anything then the video is reinstated and can’t be copyright claimed again.

I think Judy was half being discriminated against and the other half not because it’s normal to not give big jobs to first day recruits lol like, if this movie weren’t what it was, she could’ve seriously endangered that otter’s life, if not gotten him killed. But it is what it is and she ended up being a hero. Which is fine. I’m not gonna say Chief Bogo wasn’t prejudiced, but, he was definitely in the right to give her safe jobs as a new recruit with no partner and no experience.
Edit: lol another reason you don’t give these types of cases to noobs. She tried to intimidate a mob boss when she has no resources or reliable allies to back her up. She’s cocky and threatened mr big and is immediately almost killed if not for pure luck. Lol like wth Judy? You’re in his territory surrounded by giant ass polar bear body guards. Why did you think you’d be leaving after threatening him?
The line being reacted to with "gotta love that discrimination man", she accuses him of racism immediately before ("im not just a token bunny"), him being sarcastic is more than justified.
Almost all of prejudice in the movie is justified by other events and basically the entire message to Older siblings above the age of "discrimination bad/ my 1st racism lesson" is that Bullies & Prejudiced people are still following logic.
Judy & Nick have Traumatic event in childhood (facial wound that needed stiches at minimum, Muzzle incident)
Judy's Parent's Same event just family relation (Fox away/ fox taser)
Bogo: So Justified it can barely called Prejudice, Judy needs ALL NEW equipment for her, see Nick + Judy at the end having a custom made car, the "Metre maid car" being a jokel, her being a partnerless rookie. Then she gets low-priority entry level jobs as doesn't know the city as a partnerless rookie and she accuses him of racism for it "im not just a token bunny"
1st day of the job leaving post and chase that didn't in a death by inches, this isn't even prejudice this is Judy )
"Anti- Racism" (bare in mind after THAT press conference AND as a rookie she was being made face of the ZPD)
Miscommunication (Press conference)
Confirmation bias of Fitting stereotypes (Clawhauser actually being the donut loving cop, Judy actually being cute (she had to sell toys she is literally designed to be as cute as possible)
Politics using prejudice for votes (again, face of the ZPD + Bellweather)
Yeah but that’s what I liked about it. She was idealistic and naive but she was trying to do her best, which makes her realistic. Somebody with her childhood of being bullied or demeaned for trying to become something that wasn’t normal would definitely grow up to make accusations like that once in a while. I like that we got to watch her grow as a person during all these trials. Absolute naivety and hubris for the polar bear incident, and it was very deus ex machina for her to have survived it, BUT that was really the only problem I had with the whole movie.
It starts with me, it starts with all of us, she said. I know it’s so simple but we often overlook them.
To be fair he said they had “some new recruits” but the only recruit that was given parking duty was Judy
@@yams.4308 I noticed that too. I honestly think that was probably a mistake or there’s an issue of having time to include them. There’s no reason to give recruits, Judy included, a missing mammal case on their first day to prove a point in this movie. They all look and sounded like they’d been partners for awhile.

I agree; the movies overall message about the prejudice minorities face was very weak.
Even as a kids movie they could have done it a bit better. But it still wasn’t a bad movie!
I'll be honest when this video originally came out when you had your og channel, this was the first thing of yours I had ever seen and I've enjoyed your content ever since.

1:04:46 anyone noticed her phone had a sticky note saying Doug? You know the guy who makes the concentrated nighthowlwer serum.
Doug was also driving the van that almost hit Nick the first time we see Nick in the film. Doug is also the reporter who asked Judy about predators at the news conference.
I noticed it. And after I did, I did the math when Doug showed up on screen. It led me to believe that Belweather
's the mastermind behind the predator attacks.
I saw that, and did the math later on.
At 1:15:04 when nick reacted at those pictures of those predators brings back his childhood when his buddy scout friends treated him as a predator for me that was a message of like similar of *racism.*
Meanwhile, as Im watching this I have just been told that the new resident evil show has a line "I mostly just read Zootopia porn, so..."

I always keep coming back to this gem of a video.
I remember watching this a couple years ago (probably during lockdown) for the hell of it and really enjoyed it! Zootopia is one of my most favorite animated movies and I was so disappointed to see the video had been taken when I tried to search for it months ago. Watched the movie again today and searched for this reaction once again on a whim. Thank the TH-cam gods that it’s been reuploaded! Downloading it ASAP!
I still don't get why Zootopia police has only big animals, when small animals exist. What about their small streets?
I think it’s another example of prejudice based on something that makes sense on paper (big animals can maintain law through size and strength) but doesn’t work as well in practice.
I remember there was a fanfiction where a “Small animals unit” was formed with Judy as the captain, where small animals are used for cases a large animal would struggle with.
Buyer beware, it does involve “WildeHopps.” Also can I just say that I don’t get the hate some folk have for this ship?
We’ve seen SO many cases of anthropomorphic animal characters of different species getting together (my favorite is Sly and Carmelita) but Nick and Judy get called out for some stupid reason.
@@stingerjohnny9951 nah I'm pretty sure a lot of people actually liked wildehopps I mean there's so many comics about it so clearly there's a demand. There are also people who doesn't like the ship but I wouldn't call them hating on the ship. Most people who actually hate the ship though probably just think it's a "furry" think which I totally disagree. Me personally I like the ship I think it's cute and wholesome maybe not in some comics but I stand my ground.

53:04 I don't know why but this moment always gives me chills every time I watch the movie. Everything from the music suddenly ramping up to Jason Bateman's wonderful voice acting as nick the fear in his eyes too it all just feels so real even though you know there not actually going to die cause it's a kids movie.

In Polish we have our own name - "Zwierzogród" (which literally would translate to something like "Animalborough", I guess?). But it was also advertised as "Zootopia" and don't think, I've ever heard anyone refer to it as "Zootropolis".
