Gus has become one of my favorite beekeepers. Wish I could have watched it live. Bruce that's a Kent Williams hive tool. He designed it for Kelly Bees in Kentucky before Mann lake bought them. It was great meeting all of you guys at the Hive Live Conference.
@@brucesbees I know that, everyone sells them now. And John at Hillco gave me one too, with his Hillco emblem. .Great guy! Can't wait to hear which queens you like best later when you get them.
What should I look for in colony genetics in selecting queens? Gonna use Lazutin hives as nucs this winter. Taking 5 colonies into 10 colonies over 4 hives. Maybe more if I can fit smaller colonies between larger ones in winter. I use Lazutin frames which bees store large amounts of honey on them. I am thinking of leasing apiary out for bear hunting. I use floor entrance but suspendid off the ground. But have warm and cold entrances. I run 5 frame extra deep frames in swarm traps and nucs. Ever night is 60F 15C or lower. My swarm trap is even insulated. Thinking 5-7 hives on my 10 acres up north at camp is good. Anything more is too much work. Thanks for the great video.
Gus’s a little controversial that truly opens the door for FBM and David interview comon guys who’s got the balls??? You’d probably have to pay them but they both lova dollar. Greg I think you could pull it off you smoothie that’s if you didn’t burn that bridge think of the VIEWS!!!

I like queens that build up quickly and have gentle genetics. Also those that are hygienic and mite resistant.
