@Nathalie Jean Being the interviews are for going into the Lords House, which by all standards has extremely high standards as you may well should know, you have to be of high of high moral standard to be in his Home. Even Christ Himself was angry at the money changers in The Temple to the point he threw the tables over. It may not be something you understand at this time, but the Lords House is not something to be fooled with. He made that very clear from the beginning of his ministry on Earth.

How is this inspiring or beautiful?? She felt WRONG about being with him and he wouldn’t respect her and kept pursuing her so she prayed until her mind gave her relief by just giving her a “yes.” But she still knew it was wrong inside and and said it traumatized her! This is not good!!! This is a terrible example of how a relationship should be. And she had to give up something she LOVED and worked hard for to satisfy his lust for her. She became his arm candy. This is sick and makes me so sad.
Trusting in the Lord, even in the face of great sacrifice, is no easy task. Hagar did it (Genesis 16), when she was commanded by an angel of the Lord to return to Abraham and Sarah. Hosea probably found the process of taking a certain class of woman as commanded (Hosea 1) to be less than ideal. And I'm certain Abraham did not find offering Isaac to be easy.
Any follower of Christ when asked to do something difficult contrary to their own will--and yes, as the scriptures teach, including everything up to the sacrifice of your own life--will find themselves praying likely for the cup to be removed, but hopefully ultimately submit to God.

It’s only the open practice of polygamy that’s forbidden - living with two or more wives - but the doctrine is still there in Section 132. You can also divorce one wife by the law of the land but remain sealed and then be sealed to a second and third etc...

It’s simple polygamy was never ever commanded by God. Every time it’s been practiced by men it’s been their own doing and always ends in disaster. Even if it was from God for arguments sake then Joseph disobeyed Gods command in D&C 132 where he had to get the first wife’s consent as well the other new wife had to be a virgin which many of his wives were not. Joseph went the way like so many other dudes with power and influence after the women. It really is disgusting and the reason my convert wife left the church.

I love that President Nelson teaches that Salvation is a personal matter. Exaltation is a family matter. So grateful for a living Prophet today leading and guiding us to Heavenly Father ♥️

I'm 12 years older than my wife. She is so beautiful and obviously I'm not as handsome as when she married me, but, she loves me just because I'm and I was a man of God's character. I'm not prophet, I'm not even a bishop. So I think it has not to be only the flesh. So why not
this "spiritual" lady can have even much more love for a so interesting man like Elder Nelson one of the best open heart surgeons at his time of practice, also bishop, seventy and then called to be an apostle of the Lord Jesuschirst, and now the lider of his Church. God's blessing both of them. I've seen this man for 40 years now just serving the Lord. When I was living in Colombia, Brazil and Florida he was there ministering as an apostle and is the same humble, calm and spiritual man today.

Why did she have to give up her career?
Linda Harding I think she said that because marrying an apostle means that she is also travelling with him constantly as a disciple of Jesus Christ and a representative of the church. Just like missionaries put their jobs and careers aside for 2 years, Sister Nelson has been called to be a witness of Christ together with her husband.
She didn't actually give up her career. She's still a practicing geriatrician.

When your husband is legally the sole owner of the entire Church and all of its billions upon billions, you have that kind of freedom.

Nice to know some people are blessed in this way. This was a nice presentation my friend directed me to. Too many painful years for me. Have zero expectations here or in the next life. And after so much pain I no longer care. In fact it's probably just easier to stay single. Years of hard work, facilitating, working out, cooking, sharing, caring. I give up! This saddens me . . . I'm glad my family has never been in this church because I wouldn't want my daughter doubting her feelings, feeling pressured to marry a much older man hung up on someone else, giving up a career if she marries, having to refer to her husband by his title and full name, and presumably living polygamy in the afterlife.
It definitely is confusing to observe... As a disciple trying to make sense of the Lord's sometimes mysterious, complex, and often perplexing ways, I find passages like Genesis 16 to be enlightening. In that chapter is an ancient similitude to the modern situation described in this video.
That chapter provides a story of Hagar, Abraham's second wife following Sarah, fleeing, and receiving a dramatic revelation directing her to return to Abraham and Sarah.
I testify that Sister Nelson did receive revelation as she said she did. I also testify that Hagar received revelation. God directed them both: He is the same forever, in both the case of Hagar and Sister Nelson.

Thank you sister Nelson for your genuine testimony. I love when couples share their testimony of difficulties and trials in marriage, as much as blessings pertaining to it, because then Christ's role, His power, majesty and grace become truly alive to the listener, marriage takes on a lot more meaning and balance, and God's plan of happiness becomes clearer and more glorious. It also helps the listener to better understand what the path that leads to the immense blessings God has in store for us looks like : the false ideals crumbles down, little by little, and we're better able to focus on what matters, enjoy reality and have Joy in Christ.
