I don't know. It raises the question as to why they even bothered disabling the marketplace tab if you can still access it through this method. Why not just leave the marketplace up instead of basically teasing people who go to buy something and then tell them they can't. I re-downloaded a bunch of my stuff on a new used 360. The order of the items in the download history is based on their download order.
In my opinion, in order for Microsoft to not only make much more money, but also save money, produce more ergonomically and efficiently as well as keeping a big consumer base, is to update all consoles to run on the same platform. Like the series s and x are essentially the same only with physical differences? This way, the old consoles can keep going and function both physically and in terms of relevance. All games are available for viewing in the Microsoft store. You know on Xbox one how you can see series x only games but you can still purchase on the Xbox one platform for downloading later? The same principles apply. Bring back the avatars and make them more realistic for every generation of console. Basically, Microsoft need to turn their platform into one universal base pretty much like a software version of Yamaha and be as diverse as possible. The consoles? Make them purely a tool to access Microsoft gaming activities. This way, older consoles still get deserved use and relevance, new replacement parts get made for refurbishment, and even in the future, make old console reissues. First, an anniversary run of the original Xbox, then the standard line production that is the same exact thing, just less expensive and less future investment value because of it not being an anniversary addition, and do the same thing for every generation. Release an anniversary model as well as mass production standard line models all the way up until the newest console. Then, it’s time for them to make the new gen adding the newest updated console with the newest advanced hardware and features. Then? Do the process over and over again. First repro of every console could be called, (reissue anniversary/ reissue original) Mach I 360. Xbox one. Etc. only do an anniversary model every 5 years, and every 10 years, the anniversary gets a very very special collectors edition paperwork. I know it’s a dreamers dream, but if I owned the Microsoft name, I’d be doing everything I could to make sure gamers get taken care of. Statistically speaking, the anniversary reissue consoles alone would show a drastic increase of profit because of collectors alone than previous graph years.
I recently purchased a MW3 slim and excited to play some old games, glad can still download your old content as I have loads having the same profile from 2006 lol.

Its very clear that they turned off the store to push 360 players to newer xbox consoles. They didn't turn off the store, its still there, just disconnected it from the 360. Im never going to stop playing 360 tho lol.
They should have brought back NXE or the blades. Those still have offline features that are an absolute pain to get to on Metro. Even worse with an offline metro
the matchmaking was kinda broken for awhile but i think they fixed it either last year or even earlier for the older games so now its better. plus probably just more people on them which is good to see

You still can buy the games through the sites and download and play on the console without modding. After buy the game in the same account that is in the console you just go to download history an will be there
@Nellifla so that's unfortunately... if you go to the market place in the xbox websites and filter to xbox 360. All the games you can buy there will be able to download through the method in the video. But unfortunately csgo from 360 was removed from the store since 2023 I guess, even before live "close". So this games and dlc that was removed like csgo or Marvel vs Capcom impossible to download. The only methods to still playing it is having some storage with the games or modding ypu console.. But if you can find some store with the game it still able to play even dosent having in the store anymore. Hope I help :)

@p2mhp917 you cant download off the store even if its free so if you never owned it in the past its impossible to install also thats really weird and funny lol
Personally. I think what microsoft should have done is see how many developers would be willing to put free last gen games on the 360. 🤷♂️ People can enjoy old games, and legal way, and brings a form of relevance to the 360 again.

Modern gaming has me tempted to go back to the 360. But wondering while I have my series X if I can buy a 360 game/dlc on that to download, then would it work on the 360?
You know what the dumbest part of this video is? We act like not being able to use physical games anymore is so terrible yet they're giving you the option still on 360 and we're gonna act like we're upset that we can't get digital items anymore? What is actually happening? Pick a side.
You're describing the same side. People who want to keep physical around are the same people that want digital downloads/purchases to stay functioning. Not every piece of content is available physically, so anything digital like this inevitably gets turned off and disabled.

The TH-cam still works on the 360 and I’m surprised that it still updates!! I’ve noticed the “new youtube” colors and other elements comparable to TH-cam on Xbox One or a modern smart tv.
I believe you can still buy Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One and series S/X marketplace, then go back to your Xbox 360 and go to the download history and the games will be there. I haven't tested this yet...
If that was real, it would actually be revolutionary, like that one workaround to add funds to your Wii U and 3DS account (By connecting it to your Switch) before it shut down but after you couldn't add funds.
Everything of mine, minus some of the vids are installed, and if I lose access to those, they aren't too important anyway. All my games, dlc, gamerpics, trials, demos, indies, themes, avatar items, everything is on my console. And I have every free item I could find 2 years before the 360 shut down, because I was hearing people saying it was going to happen soon, and my gut said it would too. I guess 2 years later, they finally did it, so idk if that counts as "soon", but at least I had years to get all that stuff, because there were over 2000 gamerpics to scroll through, and 90% of them costed money. I have seen that if you had a trial, you can't re-download those. Idk if that matters too much, usually they have a time limit to play them, unlike demos where they only do so much gameplay. I don't know if trials are broken because they technically get blocked by a screen to purchase, Idk if that might break them. I doubt it but haven't tried playing any of my trials either. Otherwise, I also can't reinstall Destiny Beta, but that's a dead item anyway, the Beta is shut down, you can't play it, idk if Destiny is even shut down on 360, but the Beta is a useless item. It'd be more of a cool piece of history to still have it, but I deleted it a long time ago, and it won't reinstall. I was surprised your Battlefield 4 Beta installed because of that.
I'm beginning to wonder if Microsoft made the dashboard ugly on purpose with the hopes that people would disconnect their consoles from the Internet & not see that everything is still on the store.
I have a problem with connecting to Xbox live on the 360. It's not my network connection as my modem and router are fine. It won't connect to my network. Is anybody else having this problem as well? Is there a fix for this?
I thought i couldn't download my games anymore so I'm kinda happy that i know how to do that now, thanks! Also i was thinking, how about buying an xbox 360 games on xbox one/series/windows store and checking if it appears in the download history tab? I think it may work.. that the block is only 360 to store and not store to 360
The download history is shorted by the way you bought it so of you bought something when you first got the console its all the way at the bottom of the list
Happy I have my Jtag with all the DLC I want safely on it. Also having proto stealth with a functioning blades dash let's me avoid post Kinect 360 UI interfaces as much as possible. Still feels like 08-09 for the most part. Not a bad idea for anyone that has the means to.
I am curious on the code things. Simply because I know half way through 360 life, I finally was old enough to have internet possibilities so the OG Xbox from 2003 I got like 2 or 3 12 month life codes that never was redeemed since no parent was givin out credit cards back then. Anyway. not only the 48 hour codes worked, the 12 months all did too. Like 10 years later at least. Also, the fallout three was for Broken Steel dlc. That may be why the confusion. That dlc was a marvel.
I bought a 1tb flash so i can re-downloading my whole 360 library. I actually still have one of the last digital backwards compatible copies of the og xbox halo combat evolved for 360.

I wish they would have added an updated purchase history list so it would be easier to view/download your very old purchases.
I recently purchased a MW3 slim and excited to play some old games, glad can still download your old content as I have loads having the same profile from 2006 lol.
8:44 might have to do with newer video codecs, such as AV1 and H.265, which may be too difficult for the 360 to software encode...
PSA when you buy a 360 digital game on the xb1 it will show up in your download history on your 360
microsoft will do ANYTHING but be consumer friendly
I'm pretty sure you can still buy the avatars on xbox one/x/s with the original avatar editor :D
maybe if you open the store in the offline dashboard, then connect to the internet (via ethernet so you dont have to connect through the dashboard) and reload the marketplace and see if it loads
the weird dashboard still sends through ethernet because it is still internet and I have tested the ethernet dashboard.
@@drwoHeylK i know, im talking about the marketplace, about opening the marketplace offline and plugging in the ethernet cable while its open then refresh and see if the homepage loads
Its very clear that they turned off the store to push 360 players to newer xbox consoles. They didn't turn off the store, its still there, just disconnected it from the 360. Im never going to stop playing 360 tho lol.
Well said.
Why didn't they just revert back to the blades dashboard, it would've been the best way to end an era for Xbox
or just choose the dashboard you want. Would love to relive the Kinect update dashboard again (the more refined version of NXE)
because not all games are compatible with blades
Seeing all of this again really makes me miss the 360 days. Ahhh the ol' days of being ZombieGayMan (I was a kid and misspelled it)
what's weird is that i was able to "buy" the free portal 2 dlc from the 360 itself so some works and some don't.
They should have brought back NXE or the blades. Those still have offline features that are an absolute pain to get to on Metro. Even worse with an offline metro
It's crazy to me how fast you found that mw2 match. You'd think it would take forever but guess not.
the matchmaking was kinda broken for awhile but i think they fixed it either last year or even earlier for the older games so now its better. plus probably just more people on them which is good to see
my guess its because MW2 is backwards compatible and you can still buy stuff for it on the xbox series, i have a feeling with a game thats not, nothing will show up
They kept up the store in the add ons so you can access your old purchases
I feel like thay shouldn't shut the 360 down there are still a lot of people that play on 360 Microsoft should just keep the 360 alive
They wouldnt even bother to restore some of the old dash boards
I have my 360 still around for playing NfS Carbon and CoD Ghosts but i never connecting it to the Internet to avoid „new updates“. I repasted it recently. Works very well.
Thats what I cant understand. If it still there, why cant we just have access?
The store is only up and running because backwards compatibility has to run parts of it on Xbox One & Series X.
Microsoft didn't wanna pay the money required to fully keep the full old servers up and running cause Microsoft
@CosmicSponge2004 ik but it isnt like Microsoft doesnt have money lol
@PowderedVoltage but the shop still there, you can also download content in Xbox One and Series, so I still dont know why lol
You still can buy the games through the sites and download and play on the console without modding. After buy the game in the same account that is in the console you just go to download history an will be there
What do you mean through the sites. Im tryjng to get csgo on my 360
@Nellifla so that's unfortunately... if you go to the market place in the xbox websites and filter to xbox 360.
@@p2mhp917 wow playing marvel vs capcom would be dope too. Unfortunate and sad they will forever be lost in time then i guess without modding
@Nellifla yeahhh that really sad, MvC was one of the fighting game that I most want to play but can't now.. But weirdly, looks like csgo server for Xbox 360 still up?? Even tho the original one for pc is down? And also looks like have an 1 hour demo, so maybe you can try it out? The only bad thing is that the server might be pretty empty
Lol.😂 never going to happen
@MaryHarper-x6r yeah, definitely not, but it would make sense.🤷♂️ I'll stick to pirating i guess
@@that_dadwagon2724 do you run charities? Because if you don't, you've got no right to be this entitled.
Maybe if you wanted to emulate games from 20+ years ago I could understand stealing because of the collector market or lack of a new publishings.
@@that_dadwagon2724 Hypothetically speaking, where could i go to pirate games safely, Hypothetically of course
@Python0904 definitely don't go check out ocean of games (this one is iffy) or cool roms. Roms of fun and emulator games are more websites you definitely shouldn't go to. 😂
Bro I got the new Minecraft story mode season pass disc but I can download any of the episodes because it's offline
Modern gaming has me tempted to go back to the 360. But wondering while I have my series X if I can buy a 360 game/dlc on that to download, then would it work on the 360?
Yes
Yes I do that very thing but with a series s.
Jacob you didn’t censor your card number
That’s bad
they removed all the advertisements from the dashboard and now it looks wrong, they should of reverted it to the NXE
You know what the dumbest part of this video is? We act like not being able to use physical games anymore is so terrible yet they're giving you the option still on 360 and we're gonna act like we're upset that we can't get digital items anymore? What is actually happening? Pick a side.
They can still get digital items via JTAG/RGH mods, So I don't see a reason to cry over that.
You're describing the same side. People who want to keep physical around are the same people that want digital downloads/purchases to stay functioning. Not every piece of content is available physically, so anything digital like this inevitably gets turned off and disabled.
@@jrob0021 That's why mods exist tho.
@@digidoridvideos3672Completely anecdotal on your part.
No more arcade or indie games…
i want to play some call of duty stretched warfare
this was depressing nostalgia is really dead
My dream is: New last update for X360 bringing back Blades or NXE look. I don't like this metro dashboard because it reminds me Windows 8.
I noticed that games made before rhe 2011 menu update that just used small square icons are unaffected and not stretched
I tested that with Sonic Unleashed (2008)
They ruined everything since 2012.
uhhhh ok
I bought a 360 a month ago after being a long time PlayStation user and I gotta say the 360 was so ahead of its time im so sad that im joining the ecosystem now that its pretty dead I even got into live chat yesterday with customer support cuz I wanted to buy something on 360
Literally the day I decided to get back on my 360 was the day they decided to take down everything I was super disappointed.
If that was real, it would actually be revolutionary, like that one workaround to add funds to your Wii U and 3DS account (By connecting it to your Switch) before it shut down but after you couldn't add funds.
i’m pretty sure that works
Some games that are backwards compatible with the xbox one still have purchasable content available. Black Ops 2 is one.
There’s also a lot of people in other countries like India that use older systems still so I wonder how that’s been going
Microsoft: Ruins XBOX 360
Sony: Distributes Sitcoms
Without The Networks Permission
They only shut the store down on the server side only not within Xbox 360
TH-cam actually still works, it just takes a long time to load videos and videos occasionally lag or stutter
That’s the problem with GaaS once the servers are gone you basically are left with a brick.
I'm beginning to wonder if Microsoft made the dashboard ugly on purpose with the hopes that people would disconnect their consoles from the Internet & not see that everything is still on the store.
Ruined Xbox 360 4:30
the dashboard update is so that they can also brick everyones consoles in the futer, mark my words
Dang I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I just now realized I wasn’t subscribed. I subbed immediately
And they shut down halo multiplayer just to make us play with cheaters on mcc. They mess everything up.
So now they're using server space to display the marketplace without making any money off of it. Good job Microsoft.
Can I still download bo2 and bo3 dlc ? Just bought an Xbox 360 to play some classics
I used to have a 360 so this is Hella Sad
I felt your pain bro
my bo2 disc broke i cant play it anymore...
I am really surprised they closed it considering microsoft looovvves money and micro transactions.
Happy I have my Jtag with all the DLC I want safely on it. Also having proto stealth with a functioning blades dash let's me avoid post Kinect 360 UI interfaces as much as possible. Still feels like 08-09 for the most part. Not a bad idea for anyone that has the means to.
Its just a marketplace. You can still use and buy discs
you can still buy dlcs, i’ve only tested free ones and they worked
Anyone else have the video go mute after a few minutes?
Yo Jacob, They changed the Xbox 360 dashboard again and made it WORSE. If you change your location/locale settings to "Other" you will get an empty dashboard with friends removed and stuff. It's crazy but check it out yourself.
Should have implemented the Xbox 360 marketplace and allowed the games to run on the new Xbox to preserve it would of had more people looking at 360 store
I'm glad I have my old discs since I got my first 360 but regret not being able to get dlcs before the shutdown and the avatar customization was awesome back then
The OG Xbox and the 360 were the best consoles Microsoft ever made. Xbox One and Series X/S will *NEVER* compare
So i do have a 360. I pop on it every now and then. Can I buy 360 games on my series x and then redownload them on the 360?
Yes, but only those titles that are available as backwards compatible on X1/XSX
Mod it and get all the games. All you really can do anymore....
