Very interesting. I would never have even thought about that. I'm in the market right now for a shuyler. Can't make up my mind between goat or calfskin. Also not sure if I should get an ESV or hold out a few months for the next batch of NIV.Also, thank you for the video.
Thank you so much for watching & supporting my channel. I greatly appreciate it. Really thank you for taking your time to watch my videos this is a blessing and a huge gift 💞🖊📖
Thank you for this. I've been "struggling" between Schuyler Wide Margin in goat or calf. The calf COLOR available is my preference. But, I was "scared" of losing something going with it instead of goatskin. Now, I think I'll confidently order the calfskin. :-)
I just purchased a Schuyler Calfskin for my Birthday this month too. I can't wait to share it. Too offen people (myself included) feels like the Goatskin is the best way to go because it's the best. But... but calfskin is also super amazing and it highly recommend highly durable too
Ohhhh no no no you could choose 😉 like you said both look amazing that's why you buy them one at a time 😁 Thank you for watching I greatly appreciate it 😻
@@catwoods5499 lol I'll work on that. In that case I'll take the same ones u picked. I don't have but one small NKJV from the '90's in bonded leather. I need to up my NKJV translation choices.
@@catwoods5499 thanks for the information I think I prefer calfskin for example the meriva calfskin from Allan Bibles over any other binding going to be buying a Schuyler calfskin Bible sometime soon hopefully
@@catwoods5499 is the marbled mahogany better than the Goatskin? And scratch wise do you gotta be extra careful with the calfskin? Which would you say could be better imperial blue goatskin or marble mahogany.
I wanted to get a Nkjv Schuyler Quentel with full Yapp but they are down full marbled Merlot calfskin for stock. So I might get NASB since they have more options at the moment. I might get slate. I’ll worried I’d scratch up the calfskin and it might not look good. I have an ESV imperial blue full Yapp, I love that bible.
What your favorite high end bible? If you could one choose and buy one which one would u re purchase or save from a fire 🤣🤣🙈 the quentel or the other ones?
Hi I'm new to your channel and I'm looking to buy my first bible I'm currently reading NKJV on my kindle which for me is very heavy reading For me. So now I'm looking to buy an actual bible to take with on the go any advice greatly received Thanks
Ohhhh I would highly suggest reading the ESV... that translation is so easy to read and the wording really helps you understand what your reading. Thank you so much for watching I greatly appreciated the support. If you need anymore help I'll love to
If the NKJV is heavy reading, I would recommend an ESV in paragraph form and a large, readable font. www.evangelicalbibles.com has many beautiful, high-quality Bibles to choose from. I would recommend a Schuyler Quentel Personal Size ESV for you. Get the goatskin if you can afford it; if not, the calfskin will not disappoint, either!
Cat woods Schuyler Bibles are like the most beautiful and fancy bibles Cambridge is High Quality Bible Allan is the Bible You Want juts by looking at it.
So that calfskin addition I have it and I’ve been reading from it for a while now and it gets super floppy after using it. Mine is actually as floppy as my 36 gsm goatskin Schuyler so if that’s helps someone who might be wondering how it brakes in. And too I haven’t had any issue with the paste down lining either. One thing I noticed is that the paste down lining material used in the calfskin Quentel is the exact same paste down lining material used in the Cambridge calfskin Clarion. Both bound and printed at Royal Jongbloed so I guess they used the same lining material.. Great Bibles !!
I have a calfskin Cambridge Cameo that I love. I love how flat it lays in your hand. I agree with you about the leather both Schuyler & Cambridge loosens up beautifully 😍
@@catwoods5499 yeah like with my Schuyler calfskin paste down Quentel, just like with all my Cambridge Bibles, even at the 1st page of Genesis the Bible lays open so flat. Like a hinge binding or something. Idk but I actually like my calfskin paste down the most. However , I did buy the brown marble Calfskin Quentel with the calfskin lining just 2 days ago 😳 so I can’t wait for that to come in. It has the 28gsm paper though 😢 I favor the 36gsm by far.
I haven't purchased any of the 28gsm bibles either I should start to think about and start saving up for one. I've been curious about the weight and bleed through myself ✍📐📖
@@catwoods5499 I can say that the bleed through isn’t that much an issue with the Schuyler 28gsm but their 36gsm paper is a bit more opaque. Not to to much but it definitely has less bleed through or as they say “ghosting.” Lol But the weight in regards to the 28gsm paper is way different. It’s almost too light...Like too thin...I feel this causes the paper to be hard to turn a little bit. Idk. But it’s a very thin and light weight and it’s a lot like the Cambridge Clarion. And in regards to the over all weight of the Schuyler Quentel, the 36gsm Bible is actually a good amount heavier than the 28gsm Bible. I like them both as they both have pros and cons but God bless the Schuyler company when they give us the option to have one or the other and to always have this option daily. What would a stock of both of them hurt right? They could market the 36gsm as THE STANDARD QUENTEL and the 28gsm as THE THIN LINE QUENTEL. Then they could also market The Standard PSQ and The Thin line PSQ. They would make bank off of that. I know a few men who have already said if the 28gsm is the new standard then they’re done buying them. Why loose customers right? That’s silly.
@@catwoods5499 But I don’t wanna leave a bad taste in your mouth for the 28 GSM Schuyler Bibles. Those Bibles are seriously good quality Bibles in the paper is actually a higher quality paper than the 36 GSM. It doesn’t seem like it but it can definitely handle more highlight and marking before bleed through. I don’t know how that works but I know it’s true that the 28 GSM paper from Schuyler Bibles is better than the 36 gsm in certain ways. So I am definitely not saying don’t buy one that would be like saying don’t buy Cambridge CLARiON because they also use the 28 GSM paper. I wouldn’t tell you that and neither would I tell you not to buy the new Schuyler Bibles. I think it’s noteworthy do you also know that they have a thinner goatskin leather as well and it’s way more floppy than the 36 GSM Quentel’s. You might like the leather better so definitely get at least one more. Try and buy the Slate Quentel maybe. I feel mine is seriously unique with its color scheme Bible. The color contrast is just ridiculously perfect. I mean if you never heard about the Slate Quentel maybe watch a couple reviews first but I love mine and, like I said, the goatskin leather is definitely thinner and way more floppy than the Quentel 36gsm...And they all have red lettering too now and they did an amazing job on the red lettering as well. I mean that it’s very consistent in my opinion. The very reason I don’t like red letter additions usually but Schuyler does these new Bibles right.
Cat woods So the calfskin is more supple? I bought a Schuyler PSQ in the marbled calfskin and I’m waiting for it to arrive. I’ve debated it versus the goatskin. I want a soft flexible bible.
Than you got just what your looking for... they very soft & supple for sure VS the goatskin. I have one of each and personal I enjoy them for their own reasons. Have a blessed day I'm so excited to hear back from you when you get your new bible I'm so excited for you
