The previous place is going to be darn hard to beat, I think I'm going to miss it, lol. Gosh--losing all that topography, creeks, on and on, I don't think I could have made that move without serious distress.

That bench is fine to keep on the side, or out back. I would not trash that.
Michael Shearer waterseal it with a pressure washer and throw outside for outdoor bench. Even for gardening or potting plants.

Spray foam and a Home Depot caulking gun that met their demise in the “I shall not suffer it any longer” bin what, 3 videos ago lol. A couple of things that most men can’t seem to shake.
I was looking to see if the previous homeowner left a HD caulking gun. You can move, but you cannot ever rid yourself of a HD caulking gun!
Buy the storage container and when your finished with it make it into an indoor pistol range.
be more like a closet range...? way to small of a space for that.
My grandfather turned the basement into an indoor gun range for his pistol.. he use to go down there in his long John's with a cup of coffee and just pop away

@@brantothedon Friend's dad did that. One day they tried his M1 Garand. Went through the backstop, through the block and just shy of a foot into the dirt behind it. The new rule was "no .30-06 in the house".
s rooster 53 feet is almost 20 yards. It’s a practice range you can use all year around. People have businesses turning them into indoor ranges so obviously it’s enough.

I think that odd rake is for making grip grooves in concrete.
Or 13 equally spaced ridges, for large tiles to be placed on.
I've built a number of these steel framed buildings and we always covered the lower 7' or so with OSB and painted it white. Makes for a nice feel and the insulation doesn't get damaged by sparks, falling tools etc. You also have a couple of windows framed in which would make a nice view when working. Maybe add a couple more on the west wall so you can see if someone drives in.
Windows on an outbuilding should be well off the ground, perhaps 10 feet up or more. At that height, they would still provide good lighting on sunny days, but not encourage unwelcome visitors looking to cause mayhem. Mr W has already had a problem with a jerk running a drone over his property. He can always put cameras in to cover the driveway approach.

The second panel looks like the manual transfer switch that the homeowner units normally come with. It sounds like they upgraded to an automatic transfer switch (ats). I work on generators for a living.
@keith moore I guess the home owner wanted to save some money, then after having the manual system for a while, realised that life is too short for that and fitted the upgrade.
I have lost count of the times I thought "lets save a few bucks here" and then ended up spending much more when I finally bought what I should have bought the first time round.
@keith moore I agree, give people a quote for each and often they will go with a more expensive option if they can see the value. Too many sales types judge what the customer can afford and don't show them all the options. It's why I like to go to car dealers in faded jeans and an old t-shirt, it messes with their heads when I buy a better car than they think I can afford.

I feel like solar would be a great option for the roof of that shop.
The barn is oriented north - south. The slopes are east and west. Not optimum for solar. Unless some expensiv infrastructure to pivot the pannels, it won't be efficient. Also, SNOW !
Solar panels are extremely dangerous for firefighters, hopefully Cody knows that.

for most people its fine, he wants/needs a steel top with a steel support under it when he pounds and beats on stuff with hammers, wood legs under a steel top still allow too much give or bounce. That is still a nice and sturdy workbench though.
@Hello Newman just not good at rebound when you are pounding on steel. That sucker looks like it would hold about anything up on it with all them 4x4 legs!

Get the 40ft sea rated shipping containers. They are excellent for storing things. My dad bought one 3yrs ago and he paid $3,500 delivered. If you get 2 of them you can get a canopy that locks into the lifting pockets of the container and essentially make a big car port that you can park 2 big RV's next to each other and have weather proof storage on either side. I like you shop, I miss the 40 by 60 with an over hang I had when I was living with my parents. I also like you "new" driveway no more tracking mud/gravel every time it rains/snows.

@@deep5811 i have no doubt he eventually picked it up. But it should have been picked up right away. It bothers me deeply to see one touch the ground as i have seen too many of them draping the coffins of at least 20 family members. After the 5th draped coffin that flag begins to mean something to you.
