Thanks for posting. we get rain here and its a pain to put my hard top on and off a few times a week. Not much available on the market for a JL and i like to watch the instruction videos before i buy a product. Have you tried putting the hard top on over this? looks like it could go on but not screw in over the front seats. Maybe you have to unzip the front part to get the freedom panels back on? How do you like it? is it flappy on the highway?
Just put mine on today. I was also wondering where the velcro straps went, we didn’t put them on. We thought that perhaps you could roll it back half way, but not sure. Our two front hooks were not able to be strapped in, they seem too short to wrap under the the roll bar.
Yeah the front hooks were really tight. I had to really pull and tug on the material. Like I said unzipping the zipper really helped release some of the tension/tightness.. hope it helps.
How does the top perform while driving? Is excess flapping an issue? Can you drive at highway speeds without it unsnapping itself? Does the zipper joint leak in the rain?
I was about ready to buy this top, then I saw the zipper in the front. We get a lot of summer thunderstorms, is there any protective flap to keep rain from coming through the zipper and onto my dash? I’ve run bikini tops on Jeeps and Land Cruisers for over 35 years, never had to worry about rain on my dash 😬
One might think so. However, the Mopar design-mind can sometimes represent an enigma. For the record, if you use a Spiderwebshade it has to be removed with the hardware swapped out.

So do you need to remove the entire windshield assembly to put the hard top on?
I assume that the mesh and vinyl would use the same snaps allowing them to be switched out fairly easy. Is that correct?
