I love these videos because I get a relationship to the origins of my own language (Swedish) that has lost a lot of the complexity but also part of the meaning of many words. It's hard do describe, but its very emotional to me when I see common words take on a deeper meaning in this context. Thank you!
I just thought you'd get a kick out of knowing my 2-year-old, loves to climb into my lap and watch your videos with me. He is absolutely enamored with your videos, and has started wearing a cowboy hat and copying your mannerisms. We have also noticed he is trying to say Völuspá and Hávamál.
As a speaker of a language that has some more of these sorts of disctinctions (conjugation style) I find conjugation tables a neat way of laying things out for linguists but deceptive and backwards thinking wise. Like if we look at the masculine and neuter genitive singular (thess) "thess masc/neut)'s thing" I would analyse this as being not two different instances that happen to be the same, but one instance that applies in two places. Thusly in this case it is the feminine which is marked as being differentiated from the masculine/neuter, not all three from eachother. I also find it becomes easier to understand these charts when you internalise these connections. That are not suggested by the charts on first sight.

Thanks for these lessons. I appreciate doing some longer sentences in the readings.
