But yeah it's strong 'cartoon villain' vibes.. There's a strong link between purple and green for villains apparently! Lex luthor, the joker, and Neon genesis avangeleon are other things it's reminded people of.
I want to play. House greim dust wall outcast's. A squad from the Ashgrad garrison. Astra militarum bug hunting. Finding lost military equipment and stc's. Maybe a golden baneblade. 😁
Yeah the ferrymen are an interesting addition. But on the bright side, at least we've got 3 more gang types we can use now (technically 4 if you count pure malstrain)
@@MedicaeSteve hey, thank you for the kind words! ❤️ There's a base layer of 'heavy metal' across the armour plating from 'Alchemny N' Metal' , with a very thin layer of Citadel Contrast Luxion purple, then, dry brush the silver over it again and then use a small amount of Citadel Contrast Asurmen Blue, to give it an 'almost multi-chrome' appearance. As for the green there's a whole bunch of Tesseract Flow (citadel Technical paint). The underarmour is 2 contrast colours layered on top of each other, Luxion Purple and Volupus Pink for a more 'plum like' purple. That's about it really. It's pretty simple.
The Reason that being able to perform post battle actions even in convalescence is important is the suit evolution is a post battle action (Cash in 4 kills for upgrades or clearing suit glitches) and thus not being able to clear glitches might be lethal due to stacking enough permanently kills a fighter
Quick question: you mention that you need the Core Book for Necromunda to be able to use the Book of Desolation. If my only Necromunda purchase so far is the Hive Secundus boxed set (with its associated rulebooks contained within) will I still need a separate Core Rulebook to make use of this? (Apologies if the answer to this one is super obvious. New player.)
@@demajen no worries. In the most literal sense,. To use EVERYTHING in the book of desolation, yes. Because it covers vehicles used within the underhells campaign from the book. The Secundus boxset doesn't have any vehicles rules at all. I seem to recall that there is a few traits not mentioned in the back of the hive secundus bozset, nor in the book of desolation,. So a core rulebook would be needed there. Beyond that though you could probably avoid having to get the core rulebook for the most part.
@@hivescumsteve6524 If my first forays into Combat Patrol and Space Hulk over the last few months have taught me anything, it's that I don't have a very big kitchen table, and I suspect the vehicle rules probably require a fairly hefty playspace so figure I'd not be able to do much with those anyways! I've only really preordered the Book of Desolation because I figure my friends might (if I can even persuade them to play) want to play as something other than the Van Saar (cool as their models are!) Thanks for the speedy response!
Nice one brother ❤
Fantastic rundown Steve! I have listened to SCR for almost a year now and I must say you and Chris are amazing guys so thanks for all the material!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
YES! Yes I do want this book!
Thank you for your thoughts on it.
Great video, can't wait for the full podcast. I'd love to know how you kitbashd your gang, specifically the missile gauntlets
You're in luck! If you check out my Instagram I put up pictures earlier on today that shows how I made them.. 👍
Your Spyrers put me in mind of Visionaries. Brilliantly done 😆
Ahh I see you are a person of age! I too, get that reference! 😂

Those paint jobs rock my friend! Great review and Great video!
Thank you! I need to get some videos of the models rotating in clean lighting to give people a better look. ❤
Youve popped my desolation cherry! Now to order black 3.0 and start converting some malstrain delaque!

Great stuff thank you for sharing!
Thanks for doing this video, I found it really helpful
Your pictures are gorgeous! 🤤
This is an excellent review!!!
💜💜💜💜
Great video, cheers. A bit sad that the Ferrymen aren't a complete gang. Hoped for indoor nomads.

Your paint scheme is fantastic. Any hints or recipes you are willing to share. As a newcomer to Necromunda, thanks for the great content.

This looks so cool and flavorful
