This is perfect timing. I am a leather worker and I just got my greatkilt and boots in. I want to build a Sporan - would you be willing to share the template you used, sir?
Sure! there's an old school pdf you can find by googling "Old Style Sporran Patterns" it lists out the basic measurements of a Rob Roy style sporran. I used that document and made some adjustments to fit my leather. for this I was using a 3-4oz chrome excel similar leather, and reinforcing with 2-3oz veg-tan. I think it basically ended up being like a 9" radius with a 22" gusset.
