Hey guys, I'm a LA Salsa instructor in Adelaide Australia. I created the Rueda classes at my school and we love it! Great fun, a problem I have is that the ladies seem to "travel" and it's very difficult when some of the ladies to this, as picking them up when they're even only 30cm extra away for a fast song, can be difficult. I'm trying to teach circular awareness and any advice and tips would be amazing! Great video!
+James Kilpatrick Hi James. Thanks for your comment. Beginner students of Cuban Salsa need to learn how to omit the back step and walk forward in many instances. This concept can be pretty confusing for dancers who primarily dance linear salsa. Check out our Enchufla video: th-cam.com/video/3tUcawE0Bhs/w-d-xo.html It shows how followers should try to walk behind their partners only to be cut off which should help with the "circular awareness." Cheers!
+Dance Papi genuinely appreciate the reply! I'm really trying hard to tidy this all up for them, but it's difficult as I'm not trained as a follow in Cuban
Dile Que No, a Cuban salsa move, is explained in this video lesson. Similar to the Cross Body Lead, Dile Que No is used constantly in salsa Cubana. Feel free to +1/Share if you found this video helpful! #Casino #RuedaDeCasino #SalsaCubana
in the demo part she doesn't step back with her right, obviously she walks forward. but in the explanation part she says ' step back with right on 1'..why?
They aren't similar. This is the problem with the video. You are literally doing a CBL, where the lead opens the slot, and the follow is walking in a straight line. You are linearizing the Dile Que No. In a proper Dile Que No, the follow walks in an arch orbiting the leader. The leader walks several steps back and pivots in the opposite direction of the follower. What you are executing is a linearized interpretation build on the slot, which is not used in Cuban Casino. The ending position that you show each facing each other does not happen like that in Casino either.
Thank u . Made it so easy for me to follow. Much appreciated. Rgds 🇲🇾

No puedo ver los pies. Las letras lo bloquean broder. 😂 Gracias por compartir.
This is a cross body lead not a dile que no
Actually the move is different in any ways, the footwork, the lead and the dynamics of it as well.
