    where did you study to become a teacher learning salsa and musicality etc?

      I started learning salsa in Poland. Then I was traveling around Europe (and not only) to learn from various teachers and artists, but it was never my goal to become a teacher. I decided, at some point, it's a good idea to share knowledge and experience with other people. What's more, there was really not much happening in terms of salsa in Manchester, and I was a bit desperate to dance. So to have it, we had to create it ourselves.
      When it comes to musicality it is a very complicated topic. We have a small salsa band at La Suerte and I am a part of it. We are really learning from each other. Experimenting, discovering new elements, listening, and learning on mistakes. We also invite Cuban musicians to share their knowledge and passion with us and we learn from them.
      In general, when you dance for longer, you start noticing more details - both in music and dancing (movement) and if you are open-minded it starts effecting your own dancing and your perception of music.
      To be completely honest I don't think there is a lot of organized knowledge online, that's why we decided to create this channel. We are not really professional dancers, we are just passionate people, who enjoy dancing and music, but we also enjoy teaching people about it.

      @@LaSuerteDanceSchool where are the best places in the UK to dance Cuban Salsa? How is Manchester?

      @@LaSuerteDanceSchool It does seem very hard to find information online, I've been looking for classes for improving my basic steps and musicality but they're hard to find. Just came across your body isolation videos and they're great!

      @@celine5668 Hahaha! I have to reply, that the best place to dance Cuban Salsa in the UK is La Suerte :)
      In general salsa in Manchester is fine, still developing :) In London, the level is probably a bit higher.

      @@celine5668 We've built a website with our online TH-cam classes categorized, organized in courses, with an option of tracking your own progress. It's almost finished. Once it's ready we will publish all the information on our channel. It will for sure be a great option for everybody, who wants to improve from home. However, I do encourage everybody to join un for face-2-face classes. It's a completely different experience :)

    Hi, thank you for you vid. I have a question. At the beginning you showed two types of Guapea, one straight and one where you cross the legs. Does the latter have a specific name? Thanks.

    • @LaSuerteDanceSchool
      @LaSuerteDanceSchool  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Guapea is a name for the basic step in open position. These two variations look different but they are very similar. In the second one we eliminate steps back, something that people like to call "open break" when both of us step back at the same time. It "speeds-up" dancing, or rather gives you more time in more complex sequences. We apply this rule later to all moves, not only guapea.
      So answering your question, there is no different name for it. It's the same step, but in different convention.

    So in essence Dile que no is a cross body lead correct?

      On the very basic level, yes. We change directions on the next classes.
