Atsiprašau, What about "inside"? E.g. "inside the box": viduje dėže? Dėžutėje?

Locative case: Dėžėje, dėžutėje, viduje... Or dėžės (genitive) viduje (locative), dėžutės viduje (inside of the box)

i am so confused now. i thought i was understanding cases until prepositions...... when a preposition is used does it go with the subject? is that how you determine the case?

The preposition determines the case, and sometime one preposition can go with different cases depending on the noun.
