  • Dylan Rounds’ parents spoke to the Law&Crime Network about the investigation into the disappearance of their son and the arrest of his suspected killer, James Brenner. The 19-year-old farmer disappeared in May 2022 while working at his farm in Lucin, Utah. Candice Cooley and Justin Rounds told Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie they believed Brenner was the killer from day one and provided shocking details of the investigation, including evidence found on their son’s phone.

    No family should EVER have to work so hard to push law enforcement to do their job. I’d love to know how often law enforcement take a case seriously, where the family insists the situation is totally out of character, and needs to be investigated, only to find out it was a false alarm?

    • @steveniemyer9288
      @steveniemyer9288 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove. Often times Police know who committed the crime but they don’t have the evidence they need to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt. If they bring a case to trial to early without the proper evidence and lose, they don’t get a second chance. The wheels of Justice turn slow and oftentimes it’s best to have patience.

      @@steveniemyer9288 That has nothing to do with investigators laughing at the family and complaining about having to drive so long to get to the farm. They simply did not take the case seriously at first, they didn't take anything the family said seriously, and they didn't want to deal with it. They were forced to with the media attention and the FBI becoming involved.

      @Ocean Lover That's why this family has had to get so many outside resources involved to help search for their son. The police have refused to help from the beginning. It's very obvious how little that department cares about finding a missing person. I can't imagine living in that town and having to rely on that callous police force.
      At least they finally found the killer. They should have done so much more, but at least they caught the guy who did it. I just hope they find their son so they can get some closure.

      Here the problem yes they was fighting to get the police to do more. Yes the first one didn't really do what they should do. But once the other ones got involved they was still fighting but the police was working the case. You can't just arrest someone because the parents think that he did it. Its not about what you think it is about what you prove. Then once he was arrest on other charges he wasn't going to go anywhere so the police takes the time to get a solid case against him. Its really hard to get a case solved in a day or even a month when you have no information you have to build the case and get the information to have a good case. You have parents that are just wanting justice and they do anything to get it including blaming the wrong people. Police have to have evidence to do go on to make arrest. What looks really slow to the outside even his parents can actually be going fast within the police department it just that one LE knows what is going on because they don't want some to leak it and cause more problems. Been several cases in the last few years that parents said LE is not going anything and come to find out they had guys under watch getting evidence and looking back at different things. These people was in jail on other charges and there was no point to rush the case and mess something up and once everything gets told to the victims its like o so you was working on the case. But they never get Im sorry or anything LE just look bad but was actually doing what they should of been all along and keeping as much information to themselves so it didn't ruin the case.

    Like many people, I've followed this story from the beginning. Many prayers have been sent. I continue to pray for this family & am so sorry for their tragic loss. With so many spoiled, ungrateful & entitled jerks, it breaks my heart that this beautiful, strong, intelligent & good young man is gone.
    I pray his body is found & finally laid to rest. God bless this family, especially his amazing parents. ❤ RIP Dylan Rounds.

    🙋‍♀️ Without Candice the mighty beast woman - a term of endearment & major respect - and Dylan's father keeping on local LE and never letting up, this probably would have gone cold. They’re amazing! Any child would be fortunate to have such wonderful parents.
    I hope they find Dylan soon so he can be laid to rest. RIP, sweet Dylan.

    So glad you are getting closer to getting this case resolved and on its way to court and then you can somewhat rest. You will never know normal again, but will feel better that you did Dylan proud and never gave up. Usually the victim can tell the story once a crime is committed. In this case it will be harder but it appears by your account it will still be enough to put the dirt bag away for life.
