You can use the remapping in the system settings to get around the back button issue, if you wanted to set your left back button to A which is on the right joycon what you can do is set the screenshot button to A in the settings and then set the back button to press the screenshot button which is now triggering an A press
Yeah I really do believe these style of thumbsticks should be the norm, its a damn shame Nintendo is getting all the love in this department and Sony/Microsoft are still out here swinging potentiometer modules lol. Good times.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Sony and Microsoft won’t use HALL effect, coz then the likelihood of spending more on new controllers is reduced, that’s why they decided to sell spare modules for the new Dualsense Edge
They are absolutely amazing. My personal review is different tho. The controller feels so damn comfortable in my hands. They need to tilt the connector slide so that the screen points directly at your face when your hands are at rest in your lap. There’s about 30 degrees of space to do that available on the controller with its current build. For future versions I suggest that instead of each side needing a usb-c plug to charge they should make the centerpiece more than just a plastic connection piece. It should be an extended battery pack to bring with you in case your battery depletes. This would allow home on the couch play to be longer sessions and it could also serve as a nexus to charge both sides simultaneously off of just 1 charging mechanism. You charge the battery pack and it in turn charges each side. It could also potentially have a wireless charging feature where you set it on a dock.
Just a little comment as someone who's been begging for a good controller with an octagonal gate: I have some motor skill issues and cannot stay straight with analogue thumb sticks. This isn't an issue in some games where they have a bit of tolerance, almost like a deadzone, for some directions but there are plenty of games where walking straight forward or backward is completely impossible for me. I cannot get my thumbs to make and stay straight without looking at the controller. This issue is completely resolved with an octagonal gate and is one of the reasons why I love the GameCube controller so much. The other being that it fits my small hands pretty well. Oh, and you can definitely have fine control with an octagonal gate. You just gotta learn not to always bottom it out to the corners, stay in between when you want to turn gently. My main concern when this controller was announced was actually the size of it. I was worried that it would be larger than the GameCube controller for "comfort" as many controllers these days skew big but seeing it in your hands it looks like it might be about the same? Another concern is that it seems like the triggers are digital even though they have a bit of travel? That would cause issues in all sorts of non-Switch games and would be a main concern as well.
Lots of great information! Thanks for the info. I’m waiting for mine to come in. My hands are little too big for the traditional switch joycons so longer gaming times my hands begin to cramp. I did like the GameCube layout for that reason. But all the other information is still very useful.

@@LightyKD_ anything with GameCube layout is superior. Unfortunately Nintendo patened it and other but companys can't use it for their own hardware. At least accessory manufacturers are exempt.
@@PhoachPlaylist Don't think you can say that either. Look at the Steam Deck. It's clearly Valve's hardware yet it has official support for the XBox, PlayStation and Switch Pro Controller. That said I still use my PowerA GameCube Styled Controller because it's technically a Switch Pro Controller. Just because the console players don't like mixing controllers, well that's their issue.
@Lighty Kid there is no patent on the standard controller layout. Since the super Nintendo, everyone has gone with it and hasn't changed. It's standard because it's familiar. So that's mostly why it's the common layout
As someone who also uses Playstation and Xbox layout controllers, Gamecube's layout is a godsend! The a$$hole design of swapping the ABXY buttons for no reason is irreverent when each button has a different shape and feel. It's impossible to forget the layout. So for me, Gamecube games/fighting games are not why I use controllers with this layout. I genuinely just think it is the best button layout. Also, the gates are fantastic for both 2D and 3D platformers and even some shooters with stupid controls like Bioshock.

Love the review as always! - if i'm not mistaken doesn't the switch allow you to natively change any button to any other button in the settings? on Joycons and official pro controllers? Someone with more knowledge than I should be able to implement remapping of any button on joycons to back buttons regardless of L or R controller
ordered mine! does clicking the controller into the switch just work like a native bumper set or is it still bluetooth since you mentioned you can charge it via the usb c port. just making sure i dont have to always charge it over the ports and i just misunderstood that.
Correction there aren't any GameCube games on switch, and the remasters/HD rereleases of old GameCube titles like Super Mario Sunshine on that Super Mario 3D collection don't count.
Follow up question you have an idea of a case that might fit this set up? Pre ordered mine and looking for a case to fit it in. I’m waiting to hear back from NYXI website to see if the case they sell will fit the set up. I know it fits their other products but wasn’t sure on the wizard set up. Any information would help a lot thank you.
What about the weight? I actually love and prefer a controller with a bit of bulk behind it. The weight of a Wavebord or a traditional Gamecube controller is what made the gamecube so great IMO. To me if a controller doesn't have weight then the quality of the controller is obviously going to be cheap and frail and likely will not feel as nostalgic as the controller it's trying to gain inspiration from.
3:37 you can remap through the switch software so you can get that opposite joy con button mapped to the back button. Or just any of the standard buttons since these joy cons are compatible with the switch software. Hori Switch Pad Pro is not

Was waiting for your review. Let’s see how this puppy fares.
That sucks that you can’t even test the inputs on the pc. Oh well
Just ordered these 😊 and a hyperion. Just wondering can the wizard connect to pc?
can this controller be used on pc or other condoles besides switch?
Love your reviews. Wondering if you tried the Nyxi Hyperion controller yet?
Love the review as always! - if i'm not mistaken doesn't the switch allow you to natively change any button to any other button in the settings? on Joycons and official pro controllers? Someone with more knowledge than I should be able to implement remapping of any button on joycons to back buttons regardless of L or R controller
dreamcast was the best console ever
ordered mine! does clicking the controller into the switch just work like a native bumper set or is it still bluetooth since you mentioned you can charge it via the usb c port. just making sure i dont have to always charge it over the ports and i just misunderstood that.
Did you have any problem with shipping? I ordered mine and the tracking website is in Chinese lol
Any details on battery life or charging?
Absolutely would buy this solely to play smash
I wasn't going to cave, and then I remembered how I broke the l3 click function on my joy cons....and now I have paid for one
Does it say the amps needed to recharge the joycons...like a 1.5 amp brick? Would have buy two, i guess.
Are the triggers analog?
The face buttons being worse than even the 3rd party gc controller has me hesitant, button feel is way more important than most think
If the face buttons are like previous NYXI controllers, then they will be trash.
I just want a controller for switch that's full mechanical buttons like my razer sabertooth is.
Could you show us a closer pic of "the wall"
I’ll do you one better . I’m doing a video tour of my room and wall soon
@@GamerHeavenOfficial i love that!!!!
why wouldnt they use mechatactile face buttons but did so for the triggers ?
No stick drift ! But my d-pad has drift. And I tried to contact them and no response in over 5 plus days
Does it have wired connection? And what’s the refresh rate?
Hey, will you review the besavior PS5 controller it looks great and has 4 back paddles
3:37 you can remap through the switch software so you can get that opposite joy con button mapped to the back button. Or just any of the standard buttons since these joy cons are compatible with the switch software. Hori Switch Pad Pro is not
Can this connect to PC by Bluetooth? Steam has Joy Con support, so I'd love to try this on my PC games in the future
Yes
Is it sold out again? I wouldn't be suprised if it is
please add a amazon link for this
Does the original ones have Hall effect?
What are the width and depth dimension of the unit with the joycons attached.
Song at the start of the video plis, this was one of my favourites songs and i have been searching for this song for 4-3 years no joking
Try to buy this and it went out of stock immediately. Hopefully it comes in the stock soon.
Back in stock
@@UGotA9 yeah I pre-ordered mine. Sadly it hasn’t shipped yet.
Anything on the new aim controller on kickstarter?
Can you please review the collective mind strike pack eliminator for PS4?
I love it however it’s feels very lite and a little cheap but it’s still nice
what carry case can this fit in?
So I will say when it comes to screen prompts I have a much harder time than jumping.
Hey bro thanks you
Is this good for smash bros online? Or just get a wired one
Do these have rumble?
Brawler64 BT NSO and Victrix BFG when?
If my pro ever gives out i prob buy this
Can you use these usb wired on PC.
Does it work on Android or PC via bluetooth?
What about amiibo support
Trashy controller, and they suppress any bad reviews on their website! Personally purchased and tested this.
When are we going to see something like this in a ps5 pro controller?
Would this work with a PC without much hassle?
Yes
what pc case is that i want one :) ?
You are saying it wrong, it's NYXI N.Y.X.I meaning you say it like this, Niksy not with each individual character said separately.
But does it let you play video games
Is this working on pc ?
im gonna get this but i wish i could connect to it to my PC like a normal controller. if you know what i mean hope they make something that can help with that
You simply pair the two half's as one controller
If only it would charge with the actual console and not a a type c :/
Biiiing boooooong
Now you've gotta check out the *_DOYOKY Wireless Joycon_*
No gyro? Would have been godlike for Splatoon
It has gyro
It has gyro in both half's
Not gonna lie, its look like Game Cube Controller
