How long did that motor withstand the nitric fumes?

I can see where your fume motor will give out potentially with the acid vapor output. will eat the metals up. Maybe offset the motor downwind of the actual pickup point and use a pvc "Y" to pull the vapors onward to the exhaust point???

You can connect the fume output in in plastic bucket mixed with lie/water and an exaust, so that toxic are not released in the air.

Get a respirator, dude. I refine/melt aluminum in confined areas so I bought a full face 3m respirator for like $100 one a pack of cartridges is $20 and for use with nitric acid you could use them for years plus the added eye protection is nice. If you don't have the money for a full face. a half face 3m mask is like 20-30 dollars. Hope I helped.

Well the nitric dioxide is going to chew that motor up quick

    Hello
I know this is old but what about the vapors when they get out into your yard. Do they kill plants? Pet safety?
    Thanks
    Ted

    way way overkill dude!!
Nice clean job but not needed outside. I have a gigantic fume hood with a 48 volt fan and it wants to sick me out of my basment. Nice design, the bucket is a good idea but way over kill.
outside you really don't need anything,
