I played Lotro not long after they introduced the first free-to-play model. The Lone Lands was the last "free" area, and along with the Barrow Downs, Garth Agarwen was one of the two leveled instances that people grouped. So I spent a lot of time there.
The Lotro soundtrack - at least in terms of Shadows of Angmar - is all fantastic, but if I had to pick an area for music it would be the Lone Lands. So many of the pieces have this wonderful creeping oppression that starts out just expressing the wilderness and isolation but slowly introduces a sense of menace that goes beyond that. I think Chance Thomas did amazingly with this because his music gives a real sense of feel to locations when the gameplay - if we're honest - was pretty much identical wherever you were.
The Lone Lands music inspired me twice over. In my last garage-rock band I wrote a song called "Harloeg." I ran an extensive D&D campaign set in Middle Earth, heavily inspired by Lotro and did so purely because I thought it was the best way to expose my friends to the music - principally the Lone Lands music! Sadly, having started in Ered Luin, we only got as far as the Old Forest.

Out of all the osts and regions, lone lands is probably one of my favorite. The whole sleepy vibe as you explore old ruins of a land that at one point in time was a center of activity.
