I love these smaller banjos! You get the looks and the sound of a full-size banjo in a more manageable length. Regular banjo necks are just too long if you come from a uke background and have shoulder issues! ;) I hope to order one from you someday.
I like shorter-scale banjos for regular play - currently using a 20" scale 5-string rat-rod from the 1930s with a 10" pot and dreaming of something like this! I was looking at Pisgah's A-scale and trying to decide if they were too long... this is just exactly what I want.
Wondering why you felt it needed steel strings ? Starting claw hammer and confused with all the variables. Did it have to do with the goat skin head? By the way your instruments are a true work of art.
That short neck is exactly what I am looking for. I have short arms and a cranky shoulder. This sounds great!!!

Steel strings is what the customer requested, just his preference.
