Finally.... it's time we paid tribute to Vancouver's diverse Vietnamese food scene. I'll be honest.. picking restaurants for this video was as hard as going into Costco and only buying one thing 🙃 Needless to say, the Vietnamese food options in Vancouver are endless and we barely scratched the surface. So join us as we eat our way through some epic hidden gems while also stopping by some of the new trendy kids on the block.

My name is Stephan and I am based in Vancouver, BC, Canada... I was born in France but then moved to Canada very young. Growing up as a kid, I developed a strong passion for food through the aromas of my Italian, French and Canadian family kitchen. Stop touching food that you've bitten with that used spoon that you dip in the vinegar jar at Linh! You wouldn't want previous people using their utensils and dipping it in the chili oil/sauces/condiments that you're using for your meal 🤮🤮🤮
Yeah, that was wrong on so many levels as he touched his pate with it so he contaminated it for all others after him. If he was going to use that spoon, he shouldn't have touched his food with it, just drop it on.

I ran to the comments when I saw him do it. It’s people like him that made Linh change their policy with the vinegar chili. Instead of giving the whole jar, they now only give people a small dipping cup and even dice up the chili and garlic now. I used to love going here for that sauce but now it’s ruined.
@StephanEats are you going to respond? I really like your videos and how you explain the food and the way you research things. After i saw what you were doing i was about to write a review but decided to look first to see if anyone else thought the same thing. So i won’t since someone has said something but it is very unsanitary and i would think it’s pretty much common sense. One time i even saw the spoon touch the spicy sauce on banh mi and i’m pretty sure it went right back into the chili sauce!

Oh no we spoke too soon! The My Chau wide footage was great, but the close ups were pretty harsh. Lihn Cafe section really overblown. Hope you sort it out! But the food looks great!

Linh Cafe is the best. You can’t beat the atmosphere, service and price tag.
Whoa...the frog legs looked AMAZING! That bone marrow pho was next level, too. Your bun rieu looks so good (just say boon real/reel, but kinda go easy on the l sound at the end). I love the banh canh, too, but you're missing lime in your soups and bun rieu often is doctored with more veggies/herbs and a little bit of shrimp paste, if you want. I love banh khot and your bo la lot looks yummy! The duck...I can tell that's too medicine-y for me...that leans more Chinese-y to me. I prefer it less medicinally tasting/smelling. The hot pot also looks too medicinally to me.
Vancouver has amazing food now, when I moved to Van in 1982, there was very little on the food scene.
Wow, they actually toss in the chicken innards in their pho. That's pretty hardcore as most places won't do that. Banh cuon is one of my favorite things to eat, but you've got to get it in a restaurant where they will top it with all kinds of goodies like the sliced bologna/ham, fried shallots, herbs, etc. Douse it all in the flavored fish sauce and eat up. The thing you ate after bahn cuon isn't egg, it's mung bean paste. LOL!

Hey handsome, I'm impressed. You used the chopsticks like a pro, and you ate durian. In my book you're awesome, bc durian could be over powered with scent.

If it's sweet, it's the southern style...they tend to go overboard with sugar in their savory dishes. A little bit is okay, but they are heavy handed with sugar and need to dial it back.

That so sad , my sister said one day in Canada 🇨🇦 in the Vietnamese restaurant 2 American men came ordered food almost 50 , they told her to pack their food , she did when she came to their table they just walk away, the 2 bossy told her to pay for that table $50 means her tips all day was gone
