_Night Slashers_ originally was a 1993 beat'em up arcade game developed by Data East.
Its two core features were the gore and the three-player mode.
It saw a re-release on the Nintendo Switch, but never had any sequels.
Even though it may not be as famous as _Final Fight_ or _Streets of Rage_ , it is regarded by some people as one of the best beat'em up games of all time.
_Night Slashers X_ is a fan-made remake. It includes a four-player mode, widescreen support, and Ash from the Evil Dead series as a playable character. It also contains more gore than the original game.

It is like the gore of splatterhouse mixed with streets of rage into one lovely blood-soaked game and I love it.
All the more reason nightslashers X needs Rick taylor ,jon tablin,felicia, & jason voorhees ,mk chracters ash & the group could use more help,its not as easy as looks tbh. Its actually more diffcult than the orginal.

This is a fun tweak to the og night slashers. I cant get enough of the 90's horror slasher arcade games like this and Beast Busters.

This is an Openbor game using the Beats of Rage program. This is a mix between Night Slashers and Evil Dead sprites. I used to be apart of this little homebrew society of game dev's years ago.

The GOGOGO sound in this game is really similar from the one in Cadillacs & Dinosaurs (one of my favourites)

You CAN play this Game in MObile, but i recommend using controllers, touchscreen will not be enough.

@@solidteacher The download has tools for extraction, you can edit those flashes out if you want , i did not get around to document the image files that make them up, but if you replace them with transparent version PNG's they are gone

You know i love that they added a Werecat boss, i had been disappointed that their was no Werewolf boss in the original version so seeing some type of Werebeast get in the spotlight is great.

Kinda has to when its a 2d style game.
It's called Sprite flipping and it was extremely common in 2d games of this type. It was used due to limitations on the hardware and saved the developers time from having to do an entirely different set of sprites for either direction.

Yea! I recognized it instantly as the track during the last boss battle (also on a rooftop) from the first NC. I believe it's titled "Adam." Awesome!
90s story is interesting, a whole world is full of monster, and humanity has 2-3 heroes, it's easy to become hero since they have infinity stamina and can beat bulletproof monsters with bare hands!

Only issue would get copy righted due to having Ash in it. Despite that Sprite for Ash has existed in the Mugen community for awhile along with the move list he haves since the sprite is just an edit of a Capcom vs SNK Sprite of Kyo

@@fsarl8530 I can tell even know that's it's modded since a lot of the assets I recognize like the stage announcer is from Guilty Gear with the "Let's rock!!!" Also the block sprites are Darkstalkers and Street Fighter Alpha.
This was in the arcades, in the 90s. Coin op arcades like this are a thing of the past. And now remain to pcb salvage markets or in rom state for emulators. Happy classic gaming bud.

honestly, this game looks great, its a combination of resident evil, captain commando, evil dead, and more. this is great
It's like.. 95% Night Slashers, the 1993 arcade game. They added Ash and maybe there's some new bosses, but it's just a romhack of the arcade game from Data East.
This looks like a nice update to Night Slashers X, although I'm disappointed that Hong-Hua Zhou is still missing. I have nothing against the inclusion of "Yasmin," who is actually Kurokishi from the Denjin Makai series, but I would have liked to have played as one of the heroes from the original game, you know?

@@forbiddenXsanctuary: If you didn't know, for whatever reason, the OpenBOR crew behind Night Slashers X removed the character Hong-Hua Zhao, the female character and essentially the "Guy from Final Fight" of the original trio, and replaced her with the Denjin Makai 2 (aka Guardians) incarnation of Kurokishi and renamed her Yasmin. I take it the OpenBOR crew thought the name Kurokishi was not "cool" enough to use despite the fact that it's literal Japanese for "black knight." I honestly don't mind playing as "Yasmin," although I wish they could have kept Hong-Hua in the game. I wonder what their excuse is for Hong-Hua appearing in the between-stage cinematics, LOL.

@@Loader2K1 this whole thing looks kind of sloppy, unless they were trying to mock american practices where they americanise characters, removing Hong Hua and renaming the substitute "Jasmin" but retaining the original cutscenes appears very lazy, what's worse is that a lot of people seem to think this game is brand new

You can definitely see things that other Capcom games borrowed from this and vice versa. The dogs from RE look like the dogs from this, the burning bodies look like the fire attacks from SSF2

It's always good anytime you can play as Ash Williams! But what would be epic if Ash Williams (Evil Dead series) ever teams up with Rick Taylor (Splatterhouse series). The forces of evil wouldn't stand a chance.
