Thank you for this, Chad! Excited for this to come out! Have you played War of the Ring? Still almost nothing comes close to that for giving the thematic feel… with LOTR LCG the only one that does, where LCG is more zoomed in and WotR more big picture. I don’t think I have heard you talk about WotR though (but I have not caught all podcast episodes)!
@@mrsamtheman80 I have played war of the ring. Fun fact about this TH-cam channel, one of the most viewed videos is a game where Dave G and I play it online and make 1 million rules mistakes. It's hilarious how bad we are, but I have played it in real life and really enjoyed it when somebody played with me and knew the rules
@@COTRPodcast Awesome!! I will check it out! They actually recently just came out with a new expansion, Kings of Middle Earth, where there are corrupted/liberated versions of Dain, Thranduil, Theoden, Denethor, and Brand. For example, if Theoden is corrupted, Helm’s Deep becomes a shadow stronghold; if liberated, extra recruitment powers. It is something I am itching to try out. If you find yourself in Dayton, OH for any reason, I know the game very well and would be happy to play!
It looks like you used Ultra Pro sleeves. Were you able to fit everything back in the box that way? Which type of Ultra Pro? In another video just released, the creator had to use 60 micron sleeves (Sleeve Kings standard) to just barely get everything in the box. Apparently there are stack height and sleeve length issues depending on sleeves chosen. I sleeve everything that's ever shuffled in every game and I hate both lid lift and penny sleeves, so I'm trying to decide how big of a problem the small box will be for me.
The box is sized for tighter fitting sleeves. I tried gamegenic and BCW perfect fits (separately) and they both fit. The old FFG sleeves with a lot of space do not fit.
@@8bitRambler I don't know how it works in other countries, but in the USA only physical storefronts can be part of Hobby Next. Miniature Market, for example, is a part of Hobby Next since they have a physical location even though they are also one of the largest online retailers as well. I'm not sure if they get a special exemption or if all online sellers with a small physical storefront are eligible. I also don't know if online pre-orders are eligible for promos or if it's only in-store purchases.
I emailed my LGS the second I heard about this game so I could preorder it. Glad to see you enjoyed it. Makes me excited to get my copy

@ awesome dude, I have the game and the ent expansion. But I've never opened either.
This game looks amazing and it is Lord of the Rings.
Thanks for showing us, Chad!
I managed to snag a copy at pax. It was such a fun game to play!

@@PickleTheHutt yes ultra pro. I haven't sleeved everything yet but so far it's fitting in the box.

It is designed for Gamegenic sleeves, 110 microns, and you can sleeve everything and it will fit in the box
I checked on Office Dog site and no mention of the gifts of Galadriel pack? I shall continue my quest for information 😊
The promo is only available at Brick and Mortar stores that are part of Asmodee's Hobby Next program.
@ I take it that’s a USA thing then, I’ll need to pay for the import 👍🏻
