When I was pregnant , several people said you will get rid of your cats , you will see what your priorities are . they were talking to the wrong person . My child grew up with small dogs and cats , learned how to pet gently , cried with me when cancer or kidney failure forced me to euthanize them , learned what responsible pet guardians do , including spay and neuter , animals are not to be gotten rid of , I commit to the life of the pet .
This is how I grew up, and he lived until we were both 22 when he peacefully went to sleep on a pile of pillows 🥰
I love how the baby 'gets' the cat... she doesn't chase or try to grab, yank or squeeze him, they just chill or hang out together 😎🧡

The wonderful thing, if all goes well, is that this cat and the child will grow up together, possibly even until the child reaches 21. Can you imagine the memories that child is going to have as an adult?

When my daughter was three I walked into her room and she and our Siamese cat were looking at books together. All of the books were about cats. My friend said “let me tell you about your people”, I wish these two a happy life together.
