@@luhhjaee2930 I bought it off a work buddy. It's a 2010 Evo X GSR (octane blue)It was stock except for intake and catback. I bought it for 18k with 78k miles on it. Before buying it my work buddy just had a new rebuilt transmission and clutch put in. From there I bought stainless steel brake lines, test pipe, ams wide mouth downpipe, aem 340lph fuel pump, and fic 1200 injectors, and a stronger waste gate. I also had to do the timing chain because 2010 and older cars have a bad timing chain design and they stretch easily. So I upgraded timing chain to oem 2011+ design and car runs great. Car has a 93 octane and dedicated e85 tunes. On 93 i made somewhere around 350hp and 330tq (didnt want to push it since I was gonna run e85). On e85 I made 385 hp and 400 tq on the stock turbo/cams/exhaust manifold.
The advice was needed bc i am on break for grad school and I need to get some things done on my '66 AMC Marlin like brakes and greasing my rear window regulators lol. Keep up the hard work Evan!

You ran into the exact problem I see even with some of the mainstream exhaust systems. The muffler with tip mounted at the exit point just doesnt fit well. You end up with some very hard bends. Look at an HKS system. The single pipe runs basically into a straight wall then splits off backwards before it enters the mufflers. Sure it will make noise, but it isnt doing any favors as far as free flowing goes. Much better off with sideways style mufflers with seperate tips.

I have a single exhaust welded onto my v6 accord, ngl i like the missing hole in the bumper so its known that it is a v6 and not a 4 banger with a v6 badge on it

@@rawrbrz maybe it's a virtue of the new engine but Miley 1.0 had zero rasp to me when straight piped and it was significantly louder. New ones had some pretty terrible resonance spots to me, but he did say magnaflow was working on a fix at least

I've gone through at least 10 different exhaust setups on my '17 brz from straight piped unequal length headers w/ 3 inch nameless catback (super loud and pretty raspy), to boosted straight piped to an ARK Grip catback. after a while i got tired of the rasp of the NA UEL JDL Nameless setup and then swapped to an ARK Grip catback. It was wild how much the ARK killed the volume and thus a lot of the excitement of the car. The ARK was super expensive. $1400. it sounded AMAZING outside of the car and had 0 drone even with 0 cats or resonators before it. But inside the car it was too tame despite that. It killed a lot of the excitement of driving the car Naturally aspirated. After that I boosted the car with an SBD turbo kit which comes with an equal length manifold. At the time i actually didn't like the sound of unequal length. I only got it cause it seemed the popular things to do and everyone said thats the way to go. It made the car sound like a muscle car to me cause i was still a noob and just didnt associate that sound with boxers yet. Now i miss it of course. After i boosted it, the setup was SBD Manifold, Tomei overpipe, invidia straight front pipe, and ark grip catback, 2.5 inch all the way through no cats or resonators before the ARK. The turbo made the exhaust literally like 40% quieter which was kinda sad tbh. I'd roll up to meets and people would ask if i put my stock exhaust back on lol. So then i got a hold of a used Greddy Evo 3 catback which ended up being not that much louder than the ARK but had a terrible EQ curve if i could explain it that way. If the EQ For the ARK was flat (ie. Treble: 5/10 Mids: 5/10 Bass: 5/10), The EQ Curve for the Greddy was HEAVILY biased towards bass to the point where it was just super boomy/drone-y and theres almost no top end in the tone until youre at 5k-7k rpm. (Treble: 2/10 mids: 6/10 Bass: 10/10) Terrible catback IMO. Will be trying a tomei single exit next. If its anything like the Greddy ill likely swap back to the ARK since it is nice for daily driving with it's Helmholtz resonators killing all the drone Sorry for the rant i just love talking about this stuff lol im literally on this quest for the perfect exhaust setup and still have not found it after a year or two of searching

just a question, if you have a lot of "illegal" mods on your vehicle like straightpiped exhausts, catless exhauts, tints, etc. how do you pass state inspection and register it?
Damn, dual exit exhaust with this sound would be perfect. Maybe a very little pops and bangs to give it more personality but other than that, it's perfect.

I agree Evan, Single exits are the best. I got an older Greddy Ti tip on my Evo X. Nothing beats it in my opinion.

when I had the brz back in 2014 I had tomeis single exit and the exhaust would rattle against the diff. Its always the freakin diff in the way.
