Good suggestion. I’ve done that before….only because that was the standard being used at the airport I was at last week.

at my home-airport the tower is calling "vacate via X, proceed Y".
spoke with a controller there, no need to report cleared... they see us well. (of course I speak for VFR flights 😊.
Same for a friendly "holdining short RWYx" reminder for the tower...
no clue how its handled in JFK or a busy Aeroport

Yeah this “active” thing isn’t a problem at towered airports.
