    Father thank you. As a man with a sinful past I find some solace in your words. I am constantly fighting to stop reviewing my past wrongs but as it says somewhere my sins are always before me. I want to free myself from these thoughts but it is difficult. I agree all sins no matter what they are, distance us from Christ. I'm a sinner and do not judge others since I know they too are struggling. Pray for us as we pray for you.

      You don't necessarily need to ''free yourself' of the remembrance of your past sins in the sense of forgetting about them, dear one. remembering our sins AND not despairing is THE WAY forward. We need to free ourselves of our sins in the sense of accepting God's forgiveness. At times, our own pride stands in the way in the most subtle way. Please remember us in your prayers, dear one.

    This speaks to me so heavily. I used to take a lot of mdma and remember one night watching my friend sitting in a chair at the edge of the dance floor for the whole night. In the morning I asked how his night was and he said “it was amazing, so much dancing and magic” and I told him that he was sitting down all night and he didn’t believe me. I stopped taking pills then as I realised that the feeling of “authenticity” I was feeling was purely manufactured. I admit that I have only recently stopped taking drugs of any kind as I still thought that things “grown in the earth” were not false, but I this video has made me realise that what I am searching for is for the truth, but to see it with sober eyes and an open heart and not with a veil of drugs showing me what I want to see. Thank you for these words, I am new on my journey to find the Lord but it’s these videos that make me sure I am on the right path. Please pray for me, and thank you for your truth.

    Thank you Father Seraphim, you spoke into my present situation.
    I'm 48y.o., a believer for 32 yrs, an Orthodox for the last 3 years, and now I'm questioning the things I believe, I'm reevaluating my entire worldview. I'm in doubts and for sure I'm in rebellion..., I don't want to lose my faith, I don't want to lose Christ, to walk away from Him, and give up on God and on the Church.
    Thank you for the encouragement, that my struggle might not be in vain.
    Please pray for me. You are the one of those who brought me to the holy orthodoxy.

    Real. We are really searching for something real, thank you for your honesty. You are really aware of who and what we are as human, and we need this messages as young people. Seeing that made me realize that, God is accessible, he understand and some of the priest and monks understand that too. As you said in another video, that there are two ways to reject to world and we have to chose the Christlike. The one that go away to pray more for the people, the one that choose to sacrifice to love more the people. I'm still in school and I hope that God will help me loving my friends, and helpinf them. I really recognize myself in all the people in school who are struggling to.. live? And honestly there is nothing but God that can renew in you the willingness to love, to forgive and to continue to enjoyed the sun, the wind, the flowers, the food and the people despite this heavy feeling that the world is dying and that nothing matters anymore .Be bless, you are so a bless monks because when you speak, trust me, it is really to say something that is real and present i don't know how to say it. You are a human being who loves God and helps us to loves him by recognizing and understanding our weaknesses and our human situation. You are aware of the actuality of our inner selves and that is beautiful.

      My rule (which is quite simple, because I am quite simple, really) is never to talk about anything (including God's Truth) unless (1) I am asked and (2) I feel there is a genuine desire to learn in the person who asks. This usually feels like having peace in one's heart and a desire to offer anything for the person in front of you.

    And this is why I keep coming back to Friedrich Nietzsche and Albert Camus even after my conversion. I think these two philosophers in particular should be read at least occasionally in parallel with the Church Fathers 😉.

      Glory be to God that there is anything in what our Monasteries do that are useful to you on your path to Him, dear one. I am not certain what you mean by your question, but it makes me wonder whether you are not misusing certain 'techniques' of prayer, usually related to the Jesus prayer. I would go back to basics, dear one: prayer is standing before God, aware of His presence, patiently and humbling waiting for Him to manifest His presence in our hearts. There is no stress, no fear, just the joy of anticipating the arrival of the One Who Is Love, the One Who brought me into Being,

    • @mullmonastery
      @mullmonastery  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Forgive me if it sounded harsh, dear one. It came from love and a genuine desire that we should all treat each other with love and compassion, as ones who are THE SAME in our sinfulness. If we hold that sinfulness before our eyes and not despair, that will feed the humility in us, the inability to judge our brothers and, in time, it will be the source of Love in us. Please keep us in your prayers.

    And the second period of my rebellion is when I refused to give up my faith or my peace for a second or third relationship. Is that some unwritten rule or something :D Of course, again I don't know the social patterns, but the number of men that swarmed several months ago around me was weird, and I have to note that, I only go for diapers and to church. I like to sit at home and read. I felt some sort of organized attack. I no longer respond to such unwelcome interest in anorexia, but I walk around in maxi dresses and practice my learned Look - all men are made of glass. Invisible. Nobody can do anything about it. Ts. They say they are divorcing after so many years, it's time to find a lover. Yeah, but not for me. Dare to approach me. God, on the other hand, is definitely not about hypocrisy. It's about the opposite of hypocrisy. Society is about hypocrisy and all forms of social resistance are also hypocritical, more or less, because you sit in your hole and just stick your head out and everyone kicks you.

      @@mullmonastery so nice to have a reply from you regarding my worldly comment. I realized when I typed it the first shall be last but this is just TH-cam. Keep me, an unworthy sinner and hardly even a catechumen of the Holy Church, in your prayers. I give thanks for the edification and inspiration you give us. One of my favorites is the Canon of Repentance video…so touchingly conveyed. ☦️📿

    I don't think that life in sin is some sort of rebellion, not against society. Society is prepared for sinful ppl :) Until you find your place and niche and you behave accordinly to that niche. You know, the niche. The Intellectual women who do yoga and had three relationships. normal and approved. Promiscuous pretty girl with tattoos, tarot, and three cats. Normal and approved. Mom of three kids, divorced. Normal and approved. But try to live outside the niches and your behaviour will be bad no matter if you do sin or not. As a neurodivergent I don't know about any social patterns of that kind or I find them stupid and this is inappropriate by the main society, which I found strange. For example, in college, I was expected to date, and by dating I meant s.x. I didn't want that and then I was bullied and slandered. Oh, excuse me, I thought I came here for education. That was the first period of my rebellion when I declared to everyone that it was right to live together only after marriage, and I didn't have the slightest desire to believe in any God, that was out of spite. You just can't imagine. I was bad. I was mad. I was evil. I was bad evil prost.tute - because there was no place for my behaviour.

    Hitting the nail on the head again Father. Before I believed, it all looked like different cliques of hypocrites waiting for the world to burn. But Christ's words stood much too strong for that to be all.
