Clara is totally ignoring the disconnect between her and Ryan. She comes off as desperate and he comes off as disinterested to me. They both look frustrated most of the time when they are not pretending everything is great. I believe they may stay together but I don't understand why.

In the end, i don't think they're going to work because he cares about fitness, and she cares about donuts. It sounds shallow, but that indicates a huge lifestyle difference. Its not nice being the fit, health conscious partner and always having to be around someone who is either threatening to drag you to a bad lifestyle that you don't want, or who is jealous and insecure over your fitness. So either you slip and feel bad about it all the time, or they make you feel bad about being fit and complain about themselves , and every time you try to comfort or help them, they become more confrontational and insecure. It also is an indication that the things they like to do are different, so he may enjoy something physical, while she doesn't want to do that and prefers a more sedentary activity. It's a pretty big incompatibility like pairing someone who must have a dog in their life with a dog hater.
This is a great point i havent seen mentioned. I think he was very turned off by her love for donuts and lack of interested in overall health. I mean that matters too right? U get married to someone u commit to being there for better or poor health. Its a bit unfair for me to take care of myself and then u have all these issues simply bc u dont but as your spouse i have to care for you in a way u dont care about yourself.
It goes the other way too. It sucks being in a relationship with someone who is so obsessed with their ideal of “fitness” that they ignore mental health and constantly make sly comments about your weight, looks, eating habits, etc. they just arent going to work out

I know this is a clip, so I might be missing something but does she really want him so badly to say yes at the end but sleeps through him leaving their shared space? Even if I had just landed from a flight attendant job like she has and was tired you still send him off knowing what he has at the door, takes 2 mins. I know its edited but I cannot see them leaving out any gesture she might have made. Being 42 years old hearing how hard it is to date in their 20's I cannot take that someone seriously enough to believe they are ready for life as a married person. GROW UP and OUT of those self limiting beliefs! You decide what's hard when you learn dating/life/experiences is what you make them.
