    You can put regular condensed milk (left in the tin) in the slow cooker covered with water for 4 hours on high and it turns into caramel. Cute mum and daughter date 💜

    • @TheBonellFamily
      @TheBonellFamily  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ah yes, we used to make caramel by boiling the tin of condensed milk on the stove.

      @@TheBonellFamily Jen this might amuse you, but at 20 I had just moved in with my boyfriend, and we were having his family over for xmas day. I nominated to make all the desserts for xmas lunch. The night before we were out late with some intrastate visitors. So when my alarm went off at 5am, I hopped up, poured water in saucepan and got things going. 30 minutes later, I thought "I'll just lay down on the couch for 10 minutes". Obviously fell asleep being so tired, and was woken by, you guesses it, exploding caramel. 4 years later we were still finding blobs of dried caramel under door handles, cupboard skirting etc. I have never made a caramel tart since. 🤣😂

    I haven't had a pedi in ages! I need to go get one!
    I never understood what afternoon tea was. I thought you'd get out the teapot and drink a cup with cookies or biscuits as you say! 🤣
    So basically it's like an afternoon snack to hold you over till dinner/supper? 🤔
    Everytime I hear the word biscuit, I think of what we have that you pour gravy over! We have them in the morning with eggs or they're eaten as bread at dinner/supper time.
    Your biscuit is a cookie.
    I'm learning alot and it's so interesting to me! 😁
    It all looked delicious! 🥰
    I'm ashamed to say it, but like your daughter, I've let milk go bad! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Its terrible! I have to buy it by the pint.
    You're small grocery haul would last me for at least a month or more! It looked huge to me! 🤣
    Blessings to you and your family! 🙏🏻

    How come you don’t buy the home brand Jatz, cordial, biscuits etc... wouldn’t it be cheaper that way or do you only buy the brand names when they half price.

    • @TheBonellFamily
      @TheBonellFamily  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always stock up on the biscuits when they are on sale. Other crackers are all ok but Jatz is the fav and the cordial is bought normally when on sale and being a concentrate, the smaller bottles are easier to store and i found the homebrand ones had really weird plastic bottles with handles that would snap off if they were bumped so we stopped buying them (terrible job to clean up spilt cordial hahaha). haven't checked them lately to see if the bottles have changed.

      The Bonell Family a while ago you did an Aldi shop and loved the big bucket of butter.
      I recently lost my job so only have my husbands so having to cut costs by half. I bought one of those butters today as much cheaper overall than the 250gram blocks which we usually buy and wondered if you just keep it out on the bench or keep it in the fridge. I normally keep butter on the bench as much softer but as it’s so big not sure if it will go off. We should use within 4 wks.

    • @TheBonellFamily
      @TheBonellFamily  4 ปีที่แล้ว
